Following the same steps redirected me to the forbidden URL of the web app and did not work for me, I think there is something missing in the new Azure experience!!
Thank you for this video its very useful. I am getting below error after follow all the steps, except my resources are in separte resource group but same subscription. All the instances in one or more of your backend pools are unhealthy. This will result in a 502 error when you try to access your application hosted behind the Application Gateway. Please check the backend health and resolve the issue. Can you please also make video for application gateway to point to APIM consumption for path with /api and else go to static web app

The steps are similar. You just need to create a private IP and attached to the frontend.
