Queen performed this classic for Capitol records who are the lawful owners but Neil Sedaka wrote many of those great classics. The Platters sold the most copies Elvis produced many for Sun Records before the platters; it was believed Buddy Holly may have wrote that song. A Utube video saluting the current king of Rockn Roll featured Neil Sedaka on the show proclaiming on that show he wrote The Great Pretender. The Platters never wrote this classic. Its the style of a dead man who too wrote so may great rockers that after his death made sensational hits Critics say Buddy Holly wrote that song so many indifferences. On a trip to Hollywood the tour guide said Neil Sedaka did but I always believe Buddy Holly is the real composer originally the property of sun records today the copy-write belongs to Capitol records who bought Sun records to secure the true King of Rock Elvis

I'd like to just point out the this song was never recorded by Queen. It was recorded however by Freddie Mercury on one of his solo projects on the Album "The Great Pretender".
