Build a 20x20x3 box 23blocks in the air. With 4 2x8 water streams leading to a 2x2 hole directly in the middle of the box. Make sure it is enclosed and dark and get away any way possible. Preferably without dying. Then all the mobs (creepers and zombies and skeletons) will fall threw the hole and die from fall damage. Then all you have to do is run up and collect the loot. If the mobs don’t die from the drop. They will most likely be one hits now. Turning it into an xp farm. If you only care for the loot and don’t really want to blow up the creepers then just lower the floor a few blocks
Stand on top of the second nether portal and turn your view rendering distance all the way up. If you get a lot of cobblestone and start building away from the nether island youll find a nether fortress
Tip : If you let leave blocks be, there will be a higher chance that it will drop a sapling or apple. Destroying them would just drop that chance from high to as tall as a compressed can of Coca Cola.

You can make an afk mob spawner high up in the air that has water push the mobs off the edge to fall to their death then you just collect all the bones for bone meal to get seeds for wheat. And other stuff.
Tip build the mob spawner up have 2 wide things of water on three sides then they drop down where you only see there feet then boom low hp and easy string and arrows
you should kill the skeletons so they drop bones, and you can make bonemeal which can be used on dirt to grow grass and flowers, you can break the grass to get seeds to make wheat

Turn the cobble stone into slabs to save cobble when expanding island
Build a dark room up high out of the cobblestone and make a big hole in the middle. That way, mobs will spawn and fall to their death.
