I saw Shawn in a gym in Espoo, close to Helsinki, waved at him and he waved back confused. That gave me the confidence to go and fall off of every single v5 in the gym 10/10 experience.
@@finnkes1240 why compare? From a production pov it's a lot easier to shot boulder videos. No videographer on rope, no different angles from the ground, multiple cameras and people, less logistics. The rock is Orbicular granite! Those circles are formed through crystallization of magma around seed crystals. Wicked cool rock. Glaciers explain a lot but not that, lol. Love the content! Sad to see the forest around the route stripped away.

Thank you, Shawn. PLEASE, keep the ball rolling!
Wow I just love Shaun's chill vibe and attitude, not taking it to seriously and absolutely crushing. The chill scene reminds me of younger Sharma. You can still be the best while remaining low key and humble. Thanks for the great content
Videos of sick ascents are super motivating. But background footage of strong people working a boulder are just as entertaining and super insightful, so psyched for everything to come out of this
Shawn's comment about figuring out a stopper move being a big breakthrough at 8:06 had me laughing. Awesome to see a world-class athlete have the same reaction as I do when making incremental progress. Gotta love bouldering!
@@MS-fg8qo I just dont get your point. Our comments just said that he looks like a chill dude who probably skates (in some vids you can see a skateboard in his trunk). And every subculture has their own style of fashion and "behavior". He just brings this vibe into climbing for me - which I enjoy, cause i skate and climb. So what are you annoyed of?
You actually made the climb look doable. Considering you only spent a few days on it, it's crazy to see you move so quickly on it. I mean, when you compare with Vadim Timonov or Ryohei Kameyama who spent days and days on it plus on replicas in gyms, it's even more crazy. Hope you grab the first repeat! Enjoy the process.
I mentioned this a long time ago on one of the original BOD videos, but I truly think Nalle is ahead of his time and possibly skipped a grade and sent a v18. Only time will tell. I’ve been looking forward to others giving this project a serious shot for a long time.
Been climbing on rock for the first time properly this week, and the hype that these videos and Mellow's videos have brought me to send as hard as I can is genuinely priceless, cheers for the HYPE and good vibes
Just wanted to say that Shawn seems to have the best attitude. Dude stays calm, has fun and puts in work. You can tell he loves the life and is psyched to push the envelope of what's possible. Can't wait to see what's next!
I recently started climbing again after years of injury and the pandemic and when I got back to climbing UA-cam I pretty quickly watched all the Shawn videos I could find. His climbing has really informed mine as I come back to the sport and it's inspirational to see someone climbing so controlled and fluidly at the hardest level, all while being so positive and finding enjoyment in the struggle to improve. And now he's making videos!
I feel like Shawn is the only climber who doesn’t overcomplicate any climb when he describes them, even when it’s actually really complicated which is so refreshing
You know you're one of the best in the world when you can show up in another country and drive the correct pull-out and just walk up and find the problem first try. I can't even do that in the town where I live half the time!
The music selection on all your videos is next level. Of course the climbing is great, but the video quality, exciting, and especially the music keep me coming back.
The rock on burden of dreams V17/9A gets me so syked, bro. Look at the intricate and well defined circles. This is word class glacier rock. This is circles. This is rock climbing.
After a bad fall climbing I have a long rehab awaiting me now. Lucky enough to have Shawn's UA-cam channel as well keeping my motivation high. Good work guys!
