Dark Sarah is a Finnish cinematic metal band created by classical soprano Heidi Parviainen (former vocalist of Amberian Dawn 2006 - 2012). When writing her first lyrics for the song Save Me, which is about a character named Sarah, who gets left at the altar by her fiancé, and runs off into the woods in tears, Heidi eventually decided to make a concept album which would be about the dark side of Sarah, hence the name of her project. All Dark Sarah albums are concept albums and are one continuous story about Sarah's life and adventures. The songs on the album are also in order of Sarah's timeline. These songs are meant to be seen as tongue-in-cheek and contain lots of (dark) humor. The whole story can be read on the Dark Sarah website (darksarah.com). The music is nothing but amazing and Heidi's voice is one of the best I've ever heard. This was the first song I heard of the new album, and I was impressed, really beautiful song. It has this almost futuristic tune, a classical space opera background (somehow Blade Runner comes to mind) during most of the songs, I don't know what all they got there, plenty of stuff: strings, a female choir, a synth, at least. And then this part where she sings softly just with violins. Heidi is a seirene.
This is awsome however I miss JP Leppäluoto. He is just featured on one song on the new album as the character of the Wolf. He left to focus on his solo career as he is releasing his first solo album on the 5th of June. I hope you'll react to his songs in the coming months!!
It depends on the story if characters return or not. JP's character played a major part, but that doesn't mean Dragon remains in the story. Same goes for all characters.
@@Metalredhead Well yes I know that and that the Dragon is not in the story anymore. He's a different character and will only be featured on one song on the upcoming album. Still miss him in DS.
He's only guesting this album because he was spending the time getting his solo album/tour rolling. I think we'll see him again in later albums in the Grim storyline
