      That translate is right, it's duck poop favour. And please don't use "Franch concession", it reminds too much painful history, too much colonial colour. I'm sure you understand as British.

      No, duck shit is not a flavour, it's the name of the tea, there is no duck poop or its flavor in the drink.@@tackle9ax327 As for the "franch concession", it's just a name, but we don't prefer to say that, it is a little bit offensive for local, nowadays , this district has a nickname called "District of sycamore tree"(read as Wutong Qu), get its name from the tress beside the street, it is the most welcomed name.

    In fact, the honking horns on the road are those electric bicycles that deliver food. They need to deliver on time, so they are less patient. It is difficult to manage the honking of those electric bicycles. Cars don't honk.

    • @HarryShen-rk8qs
      @HarryShen-rk8qs 9 місяців тому +13

      Mostly because the e-bike do not have well regulated, while there are some strict rules about the cars, they are required not to use the horn and should give way to pedestrians or they will get a ticket, but for e-bikes, they don't. However, it provide an affordable and convenient way of traffic, so the gov takes a complicated attitude toward them, because once you put strict rules on them, they will feel unfree and make some complaints, I think that's why the e-bikes are a little bit troublesome in the city.

    • @handaxia1251
      @handaxia1251 9 місяців тому +1

      These electric scooter should not be categorized as bike because they are silent, fast, do not follow the rule and dangerous. The horn should be replaced with bicycle bell so they do not make very annoying noise. They are the menace of the cities in China anywhere, the food delivery service should not make its workers and pedestrians die in road accident

    12:12 Yo, those grandma and grandpa are from Xizang, which is Tibet. They are Tibetan ethnic, wear traditional Tibetan clothing, and do a Tibet-style dance with the Tibetan song. Once again. After the last video, Xinjiang food (chicken noodles and nang). Another truth broke the lie of Western media and government.😅
    Oh, 12:50 The uncle/grandpa wears black clothes in the traditional red coat. These words 扎西德勒 in simplified Chinese with Tibetan characters under it( It means Hello or Bless you) on the clothes. Western media and government have been constantly telling you guys and the whole world that the Chinese government(CPC) bans Tibetan characters and culture. LOl...what a lovely moment! The truth is just showing in front of your eyes.
    16:34 You guys went to a Muslim restaurant. The manager was talking in Uighur to the chef to make the order for you (I am not sure how to call the language, but it is their local language or dialect. It may different with Arabic). They have 清真 ( Muslim/Halal ) marks on the outside advertising board (with Arabic) and inside the menu board (which means no pork in any food source). I love their traditional beef noodle. The side cold dish is cucumber and bean curd, it is also an excellent cold dish. Another truth. The waiter girl is wearing a white headscarf. It is free to believe in religion in China.
    That is why Westerners should not talk nonsense without seeing the truth with their eyes in China.

      @@sunkissedbucketlist You see that China has a large number of electric vehicles because more than 20 years ago, China joined the International Green Plan, which was led by countries around the world. Then, China started planting trees, closing polluting factories, developing green energy, breaking through battery technology, and breaking through electric vehicle technology. Over 20 years later, China transformed a desert and developed the world's greenest industries, including electronic payments and business processing. However, Western countries have done nothing and even resisted the promotion of green energy,They angered the financiers for the sake of voting and not causing any change. Their way of solving their mistakes is to suppress the right people and start slandering China.

    If you translate "鸭屎香" into English, it will be "the flagrance of duck feces". But it's actually a kind of tea with a unique smell that's totally unrelated to any kind of excrement. It gets its notorious name because it grows in a kind of yellow soil that looks a lot like duck shit.
    People might have found the contrast of its good smell and the desgusting look of soil that grows it really fascinating so they decided make it into a big selling point.

    In Shanghai, you should try soup dumplings and Fried Pork Buns, those are signature local food. By chance that the restaurants that you have been showing are Muslim restaurants, they serve food from China's Northwestern region, they are pretty good as well, but Shanghai is not known for those.

    Nanjing has most of that Giant Phoenix trees that are lining the roads, forming a canopy in the Spring. Come back to China during spring time and visit those cities around Shanghai, such as Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi, Wuzhen et. they have more culture, history and nature than Shanghai.

    To further explore Shanghai, I sincerely recommend West Nanjing Road (differ from the east Nanjing road you have visited for several days) where you can see the biggest Starbucks in the world (maybe the second biggest now) and many other interesting shops there. In addition to the West Nanjing Road, I will strongly recommend the New World of Shanghai where you will see the mixture of old school buildings with modern shops. There are also quite many bars and restaurants there, you can feel a totally different vibe of Shanghai.

    "duck shit" is a kind of tea, It is because this tea was very expensive and precious, the merchant do not want be robbed when they are carrying them, so they tell others they carrying "duck shit"(I don't believe the thief will believe this statement), but anyway, it has its name. I would translate it as "Golden Hot milk tea" and use the "duck shit tea" as the ingredients. Hope this will help you to understand this word. To be honest, I was shock by this name too, and I once thought it was something like 'cat shit coffee' hahaha, but it is just a name. If you are still in Shanghai, try Lele Cha, and Hey tea, they are more popular with young people there.

    Thanks for showing us Shanghai, as Shanghainese, I haven't seen lots of those things and places. Btw, notice everywhere beautiful malls are quiet and not many people? this is because most people get used to online shopping, like Tao Bao and Pin Duo Duo, it's killing the malls, yes, and things online are so much cheaper and wider range than actual stores. Unfortunately, that's the reality, but I still like malls, and Shanghai has the best malls in the world, safe and clean as well.

      Start taxing the hell out of those giant e-commerce you mentioned. In theory, having goods sent to your door should be more expensive than you going out to buy it yourself because you have to pay the delivery service. Any country that allows its giant e-commerce run out of control will kill its retail businesses, in the end it will kill the economy. People go to mall to eat these days, other businesses will die, this is happening worldwide, I am surprised China did not do anything about it.

    “Duck Shit Fragrance” (鸭屎香)is the name of a kind of tea. There is a legend that a tea farmer brought back a kind of tea from another mountain and planted it in the soil. The soil in the tea farmer's hometown was as yellow as duck shit so it got the name Duck Shit Soil. He felt that this tea he brought back was too fragrant for fear that it would be stolen by other tea farmers, so he scandalised the name of this tea and called it Duck Shit Fragrance.

    "Duck Shit Fragrance" is a type of Oolong tea cultivated in soil commonly referred to as "duck excrement soil." In ancient times, tea farmers were concerned about theft of these exceptionally aromatic tea bushes, fearing that years of hard work would be ruined. Therefore, they whimsically named the tea and the bushes "鸭屎香" (duck excrement fragrance) to deter potential thieves from coveting this precious tea. 16:30 You're eating "fu zhu" (a type of soy product similar to tofu). China boasts a wide variety of dishes made from soy products, much like tofu, and they are all delicious!
