This series with Jess in the videos has been absolutely fantastic, and i am delighted it is continuing with the films! Galu posting on UA-cam can only ever be a good thing, and I know when a video is posted I am in for a treat! Best wishes from Hertfordshire
It’s thanksgiving here in the states and I just wanted to thank you for the years of entertainment watching you tell a story through your hard work modding and playing DAC God bless you and Jessica.
Such a big fan on your video series here. Watching it is like being in the normal discussion with my partner who really likes the movies and watch the show together but doesn't know the nitty gritty details of the books, which is totally fine. And we just talk about the show and what it could mean and what it's like and if the scenes were good.
Galu, I appreciate you man. I’ve been watching you since I was a sophomore in high school. I’m 22 now and done with college. Your videos have always put a smile on my face. I don’t have anything fancy to say, nor do I have endless paragraphs to type. I just want to let you know the impact you’ve had on me personally. You’re a good man
Yes Jess! Keep convincing Galu to make more lore videos! These new videos were great, binged them in a couple of days. I particularly enjoyed your rants in the later episodes. Unfortunately, I too was thoroughly underwhelmed by The Rings of Power. Hopefully the show runners will listen to some of the criticism I'm sure they're facing, and hopefully season 2 will surprise us. I know I'll be watching, regardless. My love for Middle-earth cannot be quelled easily. To quote Gimli son of Gloin, "faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.” All the best to you both!
Its clear to me that Arachir and Jess are a class act together on YT, i will personally be quite sad to see your fantastic channel go, but im still hopeful, shout out for the early Lore videos they are awesome and have a unique flavour
I have really enjoyed this series of videos. I love hearing Jess’ take on things. I’ve started watching your lore videos and they are awesome too. Looking forward seeing you and Jess continue with the films.
Enjoyed it alot Galu and Jess! Actually got the Silmarillion right when this series started and finished it a few days ago. Was quite an interesting read
Really appreciate these videos and all you have done for DAC over the years, I have enjoyed your content a lot and reading comments about a wrong number making you a "fake fan" is such a bs. Because of you I started reading more of Tolkien works and it's super entertaining, huge thanks from me! (I mist the "jk" in the comment, apparently just a joke)
Ossë was also fond of storms and the wild sea, so mariners prayed to his wife for calm weathers. He was also the one who rose Númenor out of the sea, so kind of its creator. His Name also means the foaming one, like sea foam.
I'm not big on Easter Eggs but this was interesting, thank you. Despite ROP being ultimately sub-par and disappointing considering it's IP and insane budget, I have hopes that Season 2 will be miles better. If you haven't already, I highly recommend you watching Andor - utterly phenomenal series.
Narsil was made by the same Dwarf that made Beren's knife and the Dragon-helm to be fair. According to Tolkiengateway it does not have any named owner before Elendil, but it's probably fair to assume, given it's significance, it was an heirloom of the Lords of Andunié (and the kings of Númenor prior).
So this was maybe not quite an easter egg and more a rights issue, but the opening scene with Galadriel as a child fighting with the other elven children and her ship being destroyed bears a strong resemblance to The First Kinslaying.
I have, and I do like listening to you before going to bed, quite interesting ;) hope it does not sound allto weird. To my dismay, I have only now discovered your alleged departure from yt. For all your work, you have my thanks - I wish you all the best and hope to see more of your vids on yt. Na lû e-govaned vîn, mellon.
I rewatched the extended Fellowship film a couple of days ago and even though I've seen it more times than I can count, I still noticed new things that impress me about it. Its not a perfect adaption but by Eru it's still fantastic. Looking forward to your future vids on the trilogy! I was slightly worried after watching RoP that it would infect the viewing experience of the film but I didn't think of it once on the film rewatch. Not even a 'Hey that's Mount Doom which was apparently turned on by some grubby barkeep called Waldreg!'
The sword in the image is clearly PJs design of narsil. Narsil at that point was a heirloom of the Lords of Andunie, but since they don't exist in the show, they propably have it as a heirloom of the kings line.
It would have been really cool if the sword Miriel gave Elendil in the show was Narsil. I've seen some people suggest it might have been, but it looks totally different.
The exact fate of the dragon helm is uncertain, it was however a magical helm that guarded from all wounds but could only be active on one with the stature to wear the artifact
@@SevenStarsandSevenStones i need to buy that one, is Beren and Luthien any good?

I agree with Alex. Of all the wider materials, Children of Hurin is the only one that reads like an actual story. The Silmarillion is very dense and is more like a history book. Unfinished Tales is fantastic but is just a collection of short stories and, again, sometimes feels like a history book. Been and Luthien, the Fall of Gondolin and the Nature of Middle-earth all explore the actual process of writing more than the stories themselves. They are like a real world history of the writings rather than a history of the events depicted. Hopefully that makes sense and helps you decide.
Thank you so much for creating and sharing these informative and interesting videos ! On a side note, as it seems as though you may be done for now with Divide and Conquer Videos - could you do me a favor and advise as to best way to download version 4.5 or whatever version is the most up to date version ? I'm been running version 2.1 for years now and would like to update. Thanks for any direction you can provide ! PS - Maybe you could continue that Dol Amroth campaign over the holidays as a Christmas gift to us all :) Thanks again
the older north european folklore of lohengrin, the seven swans involves and the ring that will grant world domination do seem to have some influence with tolkien. but after the association of wagner with the germans of wwii, he goes out of his way to deny any similarities. scandinavian parallels to the german poems are found in the heroic lays of the poetic edda and in the volsunga saga, which tolkien has used as an inspiration.
Hi Arachir :), I'm enjoying very much with your mod called "DaC" :) I saw another lotr game yesterday, "The Lord of the Rings: Total War (REMASTERED)" Did you recommend it? What do you think about "The Lord of the Rings: Total War (REMASTERED)"? The Lord of the Rings: Total War (REMASTERED) vs Divide And Conquer? which is the best? and why :)
in the timeline how long after the elves do the Dwarfs awaken as the elfs have to travel from the far east over the mountains at Moria would Durin have founded his kingdom? .Just cause when they get into the far west of middle earth they find kinda dwarf folk living there and kill them a think or is that ages after they traveled west. My bad if its a stupid question
The ONLY being!? I dont think that's accuarate, since Huan was a Maiar and i'm pretty sure even Sauron would be able to defeat Huan if he trully needed to (i know huan defeated him when they fought). And Morgoth would most likely be really scared of Tulkas (also a Valar), since Tulkas defeated him on hand to hand combat.
Has anyone come across this rumor of an LOTR film called Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohrrim? Just found a mention of it and instantly came here. I am reluctant to share the link and will say I found it while looking at the box office for American Psycho.
Yeah, he sailed to Valinor with Idril after the fall of Gondolin and was permitted to live there as if he were an Elf. " ... Tuor alone of Men was counted among the Eldar, immortal as other Elves."
I'm happy this garbage show has lost alot of money for Amazon and now Emperor Bezos is apparently going to clean house and find new people to make a show. Maybe just ruining lore to make something that fits "Today's audience" was a bad idea.
nine sons of Fëanor? and Galu calls himself interested in the lore, fake fan spotted. more proof that “Evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have invented or made.” jk jk
Gallu I enjoyed your series, far far more interesting than the ‘Rings of Power’ series, which I did despise. It just shows some good can come from something bad. On the issue of heirlooms and ordinary items past down the generations and their nature. My view being a long time Tolkien aficionado has been there are a couple of factors at work. The first is that fundamentally the mythology of Arda with regard to Elves, Men & Dwarves is one of birth, an early rise to the greatest height of civilisation and a gradual decline from there without every returning to the early greatness. In many ways it’s like running the clock backwards through time from the current heights of technology into the past. Many of the most mundane items we use everyday would be perceived in he past as valuable or indeed ‘magical’. The product of Elvish ‘magic’ is similar they perceive the products of their technology as ordinary and everyday items, yet they are perceived by the lesser races as ‘magic’. The Elves don’t see the magic in what they do, they are just items that are designed to function as they are meant to. The eleven cloak is perhaps an ideal example.

Amazon - "hey did you guys see that Axe?"
.... " but you made Halbrand Sauron"
Amazon - "But the Axe"
It seems like you can pay to add memorabilia rather easily but creating a good story with decent dialogues is not just about a deep purse.
They didnt make him Sauron. He is Sauron.

The sword in the image is clearly PJs design of narsil. Narsil at that point was a heirloom of the Lords of Andunie, but since they don't exist in the show, they propably have it as a heirloom of the kings line.
Narsil was forged in the First Age by the dwarf Telcar, and it was passed down the line of the Kings of Numenor until the 4th i think
It would have been really cool if the sword Miriel gave Elendil in the show was Narsil. I've seen some people suggest it might have been, but it looks totally different.
