Standlake Mini Metal Classic 2024 & Street Bangers Golf Roof Rd 1

It was back to Standlake for my 3rd meeting of 2024 for their annual Season Opener, which saw the new 'Mini Metal Classic' event for the Teen Streets to follow on from the annual Heavy Metal Classic in January!
With separate races for Pre-95 cars the fixture proved to be a brainwave with a number of drivers bringing out some very impressive material, which included Austin A30s/A35s, A40s, a Morris 1100 & Vauxhall Viva amongst others!
The standard Teen Street races were just as enthralling as ever with plenty of action throughout the day, the future of banger racing is in safe hands with this lot!
Also alongside the Teen Streets were the Street Bangers who have a new Gold Roof format this year, with this being one of the qualifying rounds in preparation for the Final later in the year!

A real shame that those A40's are being wrecked in this way - surely we should be preserving our motoring heritage rather than destroying it........................

I also will never understand why they crush those lovely classics. They must be heartless. For me as a classic car fan hard to see but it is like an accident - you don't want to look at but you do 😔
