Child recovered: 6/1/23

This morning, deputies responded to assist the Holly Hill Police Department on a report of a stolen vehicle with a 2-year-old child inside.
After about half an hour, a witness outside a Holly Hill auto body shop called 911 after finding the child alone in the parking lot.
Deputies reunited the boy with his family in good health.
The suspect was last seen driving east on 2nd Street towards Ridgewood Avenue.
The vehicle is a red Volkswagen Tiguan bearing Florida license plate AJ7-9FA.
The suspect is believed to be a young male between the ages of 15-20 years old wearing a black hoodie with red lettering on the front, black shorts, and a white hat.

Hope the guy who stole the car and dumped the kid gets caught and the book thrown at him, kidnapping, aggravated child abuse, car theft the works. No plea deals for people who do this kind of thing

Wow, so glad the child was found safe. The officers handled it perfectly. If I were to have any sort of emergency, I would want these officers to be there. Fantastic examples of what good law enforcement looks like.

There was another video of a man who stole a car with a child in it. He dropped off the child at a gas station with people and made them aware he stole a car, not a kid.
