- Hello everyone! Welcome back to my channel🌿. In today’s video I will be making an impulsive decision to dye my hair red! I’ve been wanting to change my hair for a minute since it’s been grown out from my big chop, and it’s the beginning of 2021 so why not lol. Wow okay I love this hair color I’m actually dying my hair in a few days and this is the exact color that I want. But I have a question, when you washed your hair did the dye start to fade over time? and also how often did you have to do touch ups??
The color definitely faded quicker than I expected, I touched it up every 4-6 weeks

thank you!! Red is one of the main colors that stains, so depending on how light your hair is before applying color, it will just keep fading to a light red/orange
did you rinse the blonde first ? or just put the red over the blonde un rinsed ? 😭 trying to dye mines !
always rinse out any type of lightener or bleach before applying another dye !!

how long did you leave the first one in before rinsing out? and same question for the second one💕
i left it on for a bit longer than the box says. About 30 mins due to it taking so long to get through each section. It can also depend on your hair type. If you have more fragile hair, then you should work quicker to ensure the back is not lighter than the front❤️

Is it compulsory to bleach your hair before dyeing it?
I have black 4c hair and I want to dye it
if you would want the color to show up properly, I would bleach it. However, I usually will only put a semi-permanent color on my hair, and never a permanent color on top of already bleached hair (at least not in the same month and you should definitely use a lower volume developer if you choose to permanently dye it a color)!

bleach can alter and or damage you hair, that is inevitable when using developer in your hair. It’s about how you treat it afterwards and how the job is done that will determine the health of your hair !

how long after dying blonde did you apply the red dye?
because the red was semi-permanent, almost immediately after washing the blonde out of my hair. Had I used a permanent red, I would’ve waited several days to avoid frying my hair !
im dyeing my hair should I wash it first so that the dye doesn’t go on dirty hair or is it better to dye hair on “dirty” hair?
If you’re using bleach or permanent dye, I would dye unwashed/dirty hair. You don’t want to strip your hair right before you slightly strip with the dye!
@@muhlayshiak thank you! i did wash it because I had a lot of build up. im not bleaching my hair but I am dyeing a part of my hair so hopefully it won’t be too bad.

if i do this should i still wait the 4-6 weeks to get braids?
I’ve never put in braids shortly after dying my hair so I’m not 100% sure. I would say wait at least 3-6 weeks + deep condition and moisturize so that your hair is prepared for tension from braids after being treated/stripped with the dye!

I’m dying my hair burgundy today . Should I also get the blonde and the adore that I need or just use the adore . My hair is black
For the burgundy to show up the best, I would lighten your hair just a bit. I would say you should lighten it as much as I did, but at least to a medium-dark brown in my experience would help make the color show up better!

Yes! Anytime you want to lighten your hair, it will always be permanent :)
what do u use to define ur curls?
I use Mielle leave-in, Mielle pomegranate curling soufflé, Xtreme or ecostyler gel, and an oil to seal! Wash n’ go video coming soon!

how much boxes u used ?
I used 1 box in this video, but went back to get some parts that didn’t take a couple of weeks later! If you have thick hair, I would do 2-3 boxes

If I was going from a color to a permanent dye, depending on the color you’re going for, I would do a color remover and then proceed with dying it !

when I put a color such as red on my hair, I use semi-permanent dye, which means it’s more like a stained mixture that I put on my hair, not really anything that can damage my curls. When you bleach or lighten your hair from its original shade, you are using developer, which is a chemical that can damage your hair/loosen your curls. It can be done safely, but you must take really good care of your hair after adding any type of permanent dye to your hair.
