Sometimes life just is chaotic and it is fun to see that! Love the creativity both on their own and as the participate in the community! Thanks for sharing.
Y'all - it was sooo inspiring to see Marcie and 6 kids on stage together!! The play was delightful! This family is a beacon of light in their community and beyond and deserve all the support you can give them!
It looks like you all had a lot of fun with these parts!! Your family is really growing and looks like they're doing well Merry Christmas and God bless you all.🌲🎁⛄❄️
That Advent calendar is so ingenius. She will go far in life. Thanks for sharing. My sister-in-law works in a library in Ridgeland and it is closed right now also.
I like this video just as it is! It gives a very real feel for what your life these past two weeks has been like. Plus warm and friendly . Thank you so much!!! God bless!
I told Thomas and he smiled. :) I was impressed as well! He wrote it on paper and I didn't hear it as music until that time I was recording it. That's the only time they ran through it and then played it on Sunday and it was beautiful. So far the furnace is still working! I had reset it and it's working, so hopefully it keeps working!
I loved the pizza box advent calendar idea. So creative. I noticed Tilly (not sure on the spelling) is left handed. My husband is left handed, but all our kids are right. It’s also awesome that you do all kinds of jobs for different people. We do what we have to do to raise our families and you are doing a great job.
Thank you! Thank you for your support of me doing what I can to raise my family. I may change or be inspired to do something different next year, but for now it feels right and I'm loving it. I love that my kids get to help and interact with older people since we don't have grandparents within 500 miles. They're learning a lot of life lessons from them and it's fun for us to work together as a family or for me to bring just a couple kids to each job so I have more mommy time with them. Thanks for your approval!
Ohhh~ advent calendars, now I know what you mean by "count downs". Took me a minute to figure it out, until I saw the girls & the candy.=) I've not ever heard them called "count downs", but I like it, since that fits as well. Actually, this inspired me to learn exactly where these calendars came from, historically, so I did some further research. I discovered they were adapted by German Lutherans, some time in the 19th century, as a way to mark the days leading up to Christmas~ "Adventskalender". The word "advent" refers to "a visit" or "coming", which makes sense of course, in anticipation of Jesus' birth. Something else I did not know is the four themes of the Advent Season; Hope/Peace/Love/Joy. At first, I felt a bit silly for knowing so little about where this tradition came from~ though I did have a general understanding of it relating to Jesus. Then I realized it's simply a good example of never being too old to learn, no such thing really. I realize also that different cultures, religions, & denominations celebrate or mark this period a bit differently, yet the general theme is the same. *Thanks for sparking my interest Marcie.=) Truly enjoyed watching the play performances! You all are naturals, clearly, & how wonderful that your daughter encouraged you to join in~ love that.maybe she recognized that mom needed to throw caution to the wind, so to speak, & immerse yourself in something fun & different. Such a sweet girl she is~ in thoughtfulness, as well as her nature.( Really lovely to want a reprieve for your mother Kaitlyn...not sure if that's your spelling or not, but hopefully close?? =) ) When I lived in the mountains of Idaho, a little town called McCall, I got involved with the local playhouse~ Alpine Theater. We did a play called "Mother Wove The Morning", written by a Mormon woman named Carol Lynn Pearson. It wasn't until many years later that I understood much more about the meaning behind that play, as well as the playwright herself. I was barely 30 yrs old at the time, so a lot of those themes were new to me. After that one, I was in an Agatha Christie mystery- a whodunit- where I played the doctor's wife, who was the "bad guy who did it" in the end. I had to accidentily drink poison intended for someone else, then die dramatically on stage~ which was much harder than you would think! That one was a lot of fun, & the last of my acting experience....so far. Ok, talking long as usual~ nothing new I suppose.I'm truly amazed you were even able to record as much as you did this past few weeks~ much less edit things together for a few different videos, whew! Impressive. Please don't worry about smooth transitions or special editing Marcie, as I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one who enjoys seeing life as it is, hectic or peaceful, & everything in between. That's real life for all of us, so I think it helps the rest of us relax a bit & give ourselves some grace now & then.Sammy in AZ
I think the store bought ones were called "Christmas Countdowns" with candy in each little box numbered 1-25. But I like the term "Advent" better. Thank you for taking time to look it up for me and sharing it. I love learning too and wish I had more time to learn. I LOVE all the thoughts you shared about Kaitlyn wanting me to do something fun and different than all the work I do. I'm always working, either for pay or doing house or yard work. Always something that needs to be cleaned, washed, or wood cut. So yes, it was such fun to do something truly fun where I forgot about any stress, got to make new friends, talk to adults, forget about the clock or stuff needing to get done. It was all a blessing I didn't know I needed. That is so awesome you got to be in plays in McCall! I had a friend in HS from McCall. Her name was Chandelle McKee. I love Carol Lynn Pearson's books and poems. That's cool you got to do a play written by her. And that murder mystery sounds fun too! Thanks for giving me grace in my videoing and editing skills. I really appreciate that! I don't want to lose viewers so I worry a bit, but love my regular viewers who have accepted me as I am and will watch no matter how bad I am at it. :) Thanks for your support!!
Yes! I'm so glad we got 6 performances. Really fun to work hard for 8 weeks and have more than a couple of shows to show off our work and polish our performance.
Have you shared the pumpkin chili recipe? I know I’ve heard you mention it several times but I don’t know if I’ve seen an actual recipe. And, if you don’t have actual pumpkin could squash be substituted?
Yes I have but I can't remember if it's in the description of one of the videos or where, haha. So here it is! It's on my blog: singlemomonafarm.com/pumpkin-chili/

Hey Marcie, do you have. Post office box? If not, perhaps items could be shipped to your church?
Yes! PO Box 43 Ararat, VA 24053. Thanks for asking!
Are you guys of any particular faith? Denomination?
I think they are Luther but I dk for sure I’m guessing
