F's in the Chat boys, RIP doug's 54s bluff combos. Also RIP Doug bc you can tell he pounded some beers with the boys after this and before doing the breakdown with his semi-stuters, face rubbing, red nose and heavy breathing lmao -- hope it took the edge off brother! You made it a great game to watch, ty!
Also: I've posted this many times, on the Hustler video, Bart's video, etc., if he just gives you 1 combo of KK [for the occasional non-4bet KK], the 1 combo of 66, he still has to find what hands call a shove when he jams. There are no 76s, so really it's just K6s and 22? And idk if you call off with 22? Maybe some % of the time, like the AA hand? Maybe you also pay off with K7s, getting like (too lazy to open the calc) 3-4:1, blocking all the boats? Kinda doubt that though. Also, I'd have to assume it's likely Tom came with $1m, maybe 1.5-2? Maybe, like a 1/2 player who only brings $4-450 to each session, he didn't want to risk going relatively busto in a game that was (other than Doug) pretty beatable? Has to be factored in given I'd imagine it's hard to get $1m more dollars as a line of credit from someone lmao. As does the fact that I would assume he knew this is likely the biggest hand you've ever played in your life, which would have me tilting you even more toward value than any kind of bluff hand [which is *hilariously* wrong apparently]. A lot to consider given the stakes and how early it was in the stream, much more than just your average hand breakdown tbh.

This isn’t really the mentality of the GTO player. Unless Doug is saying he made a mistake in not following his strategy, he’s going to have bluffs in basically every situation no matter the size. Doug is just making a comment on Tom’s strategy: over all possible hands it might make more money to bet bigger with certain hands. I think Daniel Negreanu said it himself: if you’re playing disciplined to a sound strategy in GTO, every big hand you lose is a cooler (just like some hands you have to call, some hands you have to bluff).

Only calling was actually a bad move but turned out to be the right move because Doug was bluffing. Doug can't have KK there because he would of 4-bet pre-flop and going runner-runner for quad 6's is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY, but let's think what is likely: Pocket 2's, 7-6, K-6, and 6-2 which are going to be extremely hard for Doug to fold on the river with already more then half his stack in the middle.
If you make 7's-full on a board like that, have eliminate KK as a possiblity, and are afraid of quads you will lose so much value in the long run.

There's exactly two whole hands Tom is losing to. 66 and kk. Every draw you could be representing on the turn misses on the river and the second six discounts you having 66.

@TT&G Do you need this to be a good move on Doug's part? Doug did not 4 bet preflop and this discounts kk. Doug isn't doing this with AK. Every draw Doug could have been check raising on the turn with missed. What is Doug possibly representing here other than maybe 66? 22? K6? 77? The only story that would possibly add up is k6. He hasn't built a plausible story for any other holding.
It's a punt. It just is and yes i have the hindsight of seeing Tom's hand. So what? After Tom calls the turn check raise shouldn't Doug assume he isn't dealing with anything less than 2 pair and more likely a set seeing there's no plausible 3bet preflop 2 pair hand.
He just wasn't willing to give up after he turned open. His planned super hidden ultra suck out never materialized and instead of just accepting that he punted into a not so hidden boat. He knows he didn't block any of the boats.

You are one of the best poker players alive. That being said, this is one of the worst bluffs ever. Any six or 7 wins. Given its dwan who plays a wide range very likely he has one. Hands like a7s A6s 67s are likely as well as 78s 56s. If diamond hits on the river that doesnt pair the board and you jam on him, even a set will be pressed to call 1mm. A paired board can only hurt you, you can bluff but you need to gove yourself room to fold out. I think your flop call was perfect, and your turn raise was risky but reasonable (as if you spike a straight he wont believe it and if a flush card hits its as good as counting as a made hand if younare willikg to river jam i.e. a daniel negrenau style "bluff out") im a 2/5 player so obviously my thoughts mean nothing at the stakes you play lol. But at least at my level, paired boards slow action always, as people want to pot control. Action jumps up with "who has the better house" and very rarely a bluff in that spot

truthfully, i think he was sweating a lot more than he would have normally been because wesley saw his cards and made a comment and it gave dwan something to think about. wasn't comfortable, didn't want wesley to cost him a million bucks, and called the clock. it is what it is. doug's probably never played a pot that size in his life and he's out there telling guys what timeframes they should be making their decisions. the more i think about it the more i think he's probably a little embarrassed

I enjoy watching Doug play and his YT videos. Having said that, let's be real. That whole hand was a donkey play!! I can understand wanting to see the flop with how it went, but after that it was horrible. Having to come up with every excuse in the book from "blockers" to "what the solver would say" was embarrassing. Doug got himself into a spot where he had to bet a big stack with air just to try and avoid complete embarrassment of folding at the end. Should have just checked the river and eaten that loss before donking off a huge part of his stack.(Should have folded after the flop!) But just blame it on "blockers" and "randomizing" instead of just plain knowing that Dwan had you dead cold and was never gonna fold. Since only a small percentage was actually Doug's money, I guess he did it just for the content. I'm still a fan, but no need for him to act like that was any kind of decent play at all, because it was awful.

I actually like the call from Dwan, when he shoves, what could you possibly call with that he beats that isn't 22? And even then, I think you can think about folding 22 on a river shove by Tom. Maybe, just maybe with Tom's image, he can mix in more shoves because of the dynamic and potentially get called a small percentage more than other people, but even still, I like the call from Tom.
The other guy sweating the hand I think made absolutely no difference given his exact hand - I think if he calls with AK you can think "maybe there was something about what the other guy said that he fixated on", but with 77 I don't Toms action changes even if he can see your cards.

Please please please please please never do the I'm-going-to-let-random-choice decide again in pots that are so huge. It worked the first time you did at the Lodge so I'm thinking you're a little bit biased toward it as an approach. Instead, just think however long you need to think (incorporating how many times out of how many times you think you need to call -- it's not like I'm excluding that) and then make your decision.
Your talking out the hand in the last few minutes was so, so solid and you were on the way to a call before it seemed like you ostensibly gave up in favor of the double-coin-flip. You can say that you need to be calling AA 25% of the time there... but when are the other 3 $2+MM pots going to materialize? Anyway great game, and I just hope you're not seriously financially hurt here -- selling a ton of action was a wise move.
