It was your excellent video, (and those of other photographers who have covered this wonderful wood), that inspired me to visit last month ( May 2023). It is sad to report that access to Wistmans Wood is now restricted to the perimeter only, so the atmospheric shots featured in your video are no longer available. It is a sad reflection of our times that the popularity of the wood was damaging the delicate ecology of the area so is no longer available for us all to enjoy. I guess that, for this reason, your coverage on this video has become even more valuable now than it was before.

Hi there. That’s so sad to hear that they have restricted access, a great shame! I almost feel slightly responsible for highlighting the woodland! It’s become so popular in the last few years! A victim of its own success you might say! Thanks for watching👍🏻

Good stuff again and I attended a presentation from an FRPS gent who specialized in ancient woodlands and his number 1 rule was exclude the sky! You did that here by using mist! The other thing you did was focus on the word Ancient! For me these are the two rules we should follow.

What a fabulous place! I noticed you seem to have dropped the contrast in your prints - something I've started to do to bring out shadow detail without the noise. Great video, great pictures.

Excellent film thank you mark, and a very good soundtrack, especially after I had just scrapped 3 - what should have been interesting - photography videos due to terrible soundtracks.
Have subscribed and will be watching your other videos - on computer as my smart TV is so burdened with UA-cam adds that videos are unwatchable.
The two dogs appear incredibly well behaved - especially for Terriers. Are they Border Terriers? Hard to tell as they are black.

    • @MarkKerton

Thanks ever so much, appreciate that. I try and find the right soundtracks to match the video as much as I can. Sometimes taking hours! I subscribe to epidemic sound. They have a fantastic catalogue of music. Our two girls are patterdales, one smooth and the other a wire coat. They were super well behaved for this visit. All the nooks and gaps in the boulders kept them occupied. Thanks for watching and subscribing, really appreciate it. Catch up soon👍🏻

@@MarkKerton Quick really boring question ... that tripod you are using .. is it the one in your links below? Thoughts on it if so .. I'm looking for a secondary tripod for vlogging camera (XT4) along with primary pod for longer hikes ...
