Brilliant talk guys! .. with project reactor you have stuff like 'StepVerifier' for unit testing, what is the 'mutiny' equivalent and can you point me to unit testing examples, thanks.
Hello, Thanks! We don't have an equivalent to the StepVerifier, as the need didn't come. We provide a test-utils module (github.com/smallrye/smallrye-mutiny/tree/master/test-utils/src/main/java/io/smallrye/mutiny/test) containing a few utilities. The most used is MultiAssertSubscriber. You can find an example of usage on github.com/smallrye/smallrye-mutiny/blob/16d080d919689ed99beb30027b095bc84e71f495/implementation/src/test/java/io/smallrye/mutiny/operators/multi/MultiToHotStreamTest.java#L37 Let me know if you need anything like StepVerifier, we would be happy to discuss and provide such a utility.
Hi! Impressive demo, congratulations! I've been looking for the source code as I want to play around Mutiny API, but it looks like code under github.com/quarkusio/quarkus-workshops/blob/master/quarkus-workshop-super-heroes/super-heroes isn't updated to use Mutiny on it. Is the source code available? Thanks!
Hello, thanks! The code of the demo is here: github.com/cescoffier/mutiny-demo. The workshop (your link) is going to be migrated soon. In addition, the Quarkus documentation contains many examples using the Mutiny API.
Don't try to make reactive programming to look more like imperative, its destroying the flow mind-set. Or if you do provide both ways. Keep it functional and declarative like it is naturally. Chaining 2-3 methods in imperative like way make things harder and destroys the flow mind-set.
........... it's very hard to listen to the french guy. i mean come on......talk slower and more careful i don't know. not even the auto. subtitles work.
Mutiny API is such a joy, it has the kind of expressiveness I want for all of my code 🥂
