I wanna see you do Brian Banner, the estranged abusive father of Bruce Banner/Hulk, aka Devil Hulk **edit: I originally said DAVID Banner, that was my mistake, I accidentally got it mixed up with one of the Hulk movies, I know, please don’t kill me**
Good video. I was the OHOTMU writer who wrote that entry you reference, one of my favorites during my time there. Yes, the Hostess bit is canon - I took it to editorial and got it approved, as it did not contain any of the "sillier" elements of the typical Hostess ads and pretty much fit in-continuity without any hassle. Another "big win" for me on that entry was convincing them to let the Wendigo spirit from that Amazing Spider-Man issue be "The" Wendigo spirit (the '80s Deluxe Edition specified it was separate, but as the decades went on, there was no longer reason to do so, especially with the "lore" of Marvel's Wendigo straying so far from what it had been at that time of the original clarification).
BTW, on the Hostess ads - they're all considered kinda-sorta in-continuity. Between Kurt Busiek's use of Icemaster, a number of the Hostess villains appearing in a story a decade or so ago and a story involving Spider-Man and Johnny Storm doing some in-continuity advertising to make money, they're considered exaggerated versions of actual events. Most of the confrontations happened, just not in the silly "toss a pie in their mouth to distract them" way they're depicted.
I remember the first appearance of Wendigo and Wolverine from the Incredible Hulk comic from the seventies but the English comic that also had Daredevil and the Fantastic Four in the weekly comic back then, and it was in black and white.
The sentry and moon knight have a great talk: Sentry: hey marc...it is marc I'm talking to right? Moon Knight: yeah Bob it's me. Still seeing the same therapist? Sentry: every Wednesday morning Moon Knight: yeah I see him Wednesday night after your session
I'm a lifelong Marvel Comics & Hulk fan ..& I gotta admit that those ads in those 1970s Incredible Hulk issues led to a SEVERE Hostess Fruit Pie ADDICTION that took DECADES to beat!! 😂😂
Ok I would give this video a like but as of writing this, the likes are exactly 616, the number for the Prime Marvel universe, and I think that's too cool to undo. Comment for the algorithim tho the likes went up to 619 so I have no reason to stop myself from giving this a like! Great video!
Vampire biker gang!?! I am unbelievably curious. Thank you for making these videos I can't imagine the amount of work and research that goes into these.
I know that they have nothing to do with each other, but the movie Ravenous, I think, is a great explanation of the Wendigo! Great movie, if you haven't seen it. So good.
Are you going to do history of Ironheart, M'Baku, Namora, Attuma and Shuri as the Black Panther since they played a major role in the Black Panther Wakanda Forever movie?
Can you do history of Ironheart, Amatsu-Mikaboshi, Arno_Stark Iron Man, Squirrel_Girl, Constrictor, Deathlok, Amadeus_Cho, the Griever, Pepper Potts AKA Rescue and the Agents of Atlas along with Crescent, Morgan_Le_Fey, White Fox and Luna Snow?
Can you do history of characters mentioned in this video? Speaking of Alpha Flight, Are you going to do history of them since they were featured a lot in this video?
Can you do history of the Living_Brain, the Elementals, Cyclone, Hydro Man, Molten Man, Puck, Sandman, Rom_the_Spaceknight, Stingray, Noh-Varr Marvel_Boy, Starbrand, Nightmask, Ava Ayala the White Tiger, Crossfire, Living Laser, Century, Lore and Technovore?
I had no idea there had been so many different Wendigos. Thanks for increasing my Marvel IQ. Politely asking for a video on the Alpha Flight member, SASQUATCH. As always, MAKE MINE THE MERRY MARVELITE!!!!
Are you going to do history of lesser known characters like Rom_the_Spaceknight, Stingray, Ultimo, Inferno, Zora_Vukovic Victorious, Flerken, Blacklash, Deathlok, Elematrix, Vertigo, Masked Raider, Red_Wolf, Tarantula, Forge, Bishop, Titanium_Man, Crimson Dynamo, Dreadknight, Deathcry, Kobik AKA the Cosmic Cube, Blizzard, Avril Kincaid Quasar, Starbrand, Nightmask, Bastion, Master Mold, Nimrod, Starhawk, Fixer, Whirlwind, Chemistro, Whiplash, the Controller, Madam_Masque, Count_Nefaria, Ava Ayala the White Tiger, Crossfire, Living Laser, Century, Lore and Technovore?
Ah, The Wendigo. I really like him as a Wolverine villain. I think of that one whenever I think of The Wendigo. It works as a curse too, but I think that the problem is that there are too many of them and it gets a little bit confusing,
I always loved the Wendigo and so enjoyed Marvel's version. That is until they turned the Wendigo into a race or more like a group of people can become a Wendigo instead of one person at a time. They first appeared in a Red-Hulk run, and in a later run, which might be connected to the Red-Hulk it was revealed that Hero, Tanarag had been messing with the curse. It was shown that he was infecting many people with the Wendigo curse to spread it past Canada to gain more power. Before this and maybe once again, there is only one Wendigo and it can be affected by the host. That is why some seem different from the other,, but they are actually the same evil spirit/curse. Recently a clone of Wolverine was possessed by the Wendigo, and easily killed by the current Hulk off panel. Which I think is a shame, cause it could have been a hell of a fight. I mean the Wendigo has always been able to beat or give Hulk a hell of a fight, tho if it faced World War Hulk or the whole Ship Hulk thing then Wendigo would get crushed. The Wendigo in team Weapon Prime was fitted with a device that allowed the human to have control. But its likely that didn't last long and the Wendigo is long gone. The 1 million BC Wendigo was confusing, but we don't know really anything about that version and I hope one day we will.
Did you know that a baby Wendigo is known as a... Jakalope? The cute little Jakalope leads anyone who chases it into its family's cave so that its Wendigo parent can murder the curious chaser and also be fed by its older kind.
Can you do history of Master Pandemonium, Sleepwalker, D'Spayre, Lilith, Chthon, Mephisto, Black heart, Dormammu, Doyle Dormammu, Clea, Nightmare and Pkzkrfmknna along with Crystal, Magma and Vance_Astrovik AKA Justice?
Can you do history of the Elementals(Hellfire, Magnum, Hydron and Zephyr), Bastion, Master Mold, Nimrod, Inferno, Zora_Vukovic Victorious, Night Nurse, Lady-Lotus, Sundragon and Phyla_Vell along with the Supreme Intelligence, Puppet_Master, Diablo, Mole_Man and Angel Salvador/Tempest along with Exodus and Ex-Nhilo?
Wendigo's are also connected to the curse of werewolves and skin skinwalkers and aliens from the netherworld or fourth dimension, astral world of mystical realms. Shadow dimension of the negative realms. They are probably impossible to kill except by a rare chance from another wendigo or someone with mystical powers of dark magic or druid origins. They are also thought to have shown as silver haired or sometimes with red hair or brown hair or a mixture of all of them. There's a theory to they can change size or colours at will or in a rage? They have a weakness to fire or sometimes mirrors seeing their own reflection courses them to see reality of who their were? Like a vampire they can change shape into a large wolf or owl or even into any animal crossing its path including human or copy of the person it has killed. Beast or god or something unusual in nature a curse or an old god from the original universe before the dust of the big bang? Werebeast of the nine realms or possibly say a creation of alien origins who can say or know the truth of their unique existence, a man beast or beast man? Neither World Man Egyptian Moon Knight?
What type of character is the Wendigo compared to other animal themed characters like the Sasquatch and Werewolf by night? What would happen if the Wendigo fought against these characters?
There is another great appearance of these creatures in the Earth X storyline. The mutant superhero Multiple Man Jamie Madrox is starving after that world’s famine so he pops a multiple and then eats him, which turns the original into a Wendigo. Imagine the original Wendigo multiplied by thousands if not millions and you have that storyline’s prevailing threat.
Not quite sure how taking a person who as a normal human, ate a person-and turning them in a giant super powered monster is improving the situation lol. Seems more like a punishment for everybody else.
Ah, The Wendigo. I really like him as a Wolverine villain. I think of that one whenever I think of The Wendigo. It works as a curse too, but I think that the problem is that there are too many of them and it gets a little bit confusing.
Doesn't matter who you pick to talk about. You're in depth analysis of each character is too good to miss an episode. Good work, Marvelite
I agree totally!
People tend to forget how dark old school comic storylines could be back then .

This
Brian Banner is his name
@@snoopy4749 oh yeah I got it mixed up with the movie, dammit😓😓😓 should’ve been obvious
The "Absorbing man" 😂 changed from the comic character Carl Creel for narrative purposes
That would be dope
Lol, that Hostess Fruit Pie part was hilarious

This character always intrigued me. Thank you for the video!
Yooo I love Wendigo! One of my favorite Hulk villains!
6:28 😂😂😂😂😂. I was just about to mention that it was a hostess advertisement
My favorite Wendigo story is in Spider-Man Perceptions. Where the monster is innocent.
Wait, the hostess ad is canon? Hahaha that's amazing!
Always good to see that 90s McFarland marvel art
Wolverine The Long Night is also a Wendigo story!! This video is awesome!! Thank you for including all the source material in the description!!!!
I love the obscure stuff like this 👍
0:08 I love the variant cover they did for the immortal hulk series, where it was a homage to this very cover!
Nice! Hope you do Maria Hill!

They should adapt the Wolverine/Hulk/Wendigo story for Wolverine’s introduction to the MCU when they decide to introduce their version

Isn't there a What If story where Hulk is cursed with the Wendigo spirit?

Hells yeah, Hostess fruit pies. Back then especially. Cured all that ails. 😊
Let's give cannibals super powers. What could go wrong?
Be careful where you buy your Poutine from, cause you never know...
How come anyone who's acting like a cannibal can turn into a Wendigo? What would happen if something like this happened in real life?
I'm pretty sure that can't happen in real life, so you're safe. Eat all you want.
