I love that the sax soli still takes a bunch of licks from the original coltrane solo, it sounds so good

This is actually a really lit arrangement. I love the motifs from Coltrane's original solo in the soli.

This arrangement is amazing! I love the Vibes at 0:45 !
And the sax solis at 0:59 and 1:18 are simply amazing!

Staying true to what the original was all about! Nice!

I like the useless key signatures in the transposing instruments.

@@dishwasherdetergent3366 it's meant to be atonal but somewhere in the process it's identified as c major or a minor

@@maxwellhanks4751 uh yeah I know that
the reason it's c major/a minor is because they wanted an open key signature for the concert pitch instruments but instead of making it open across the entire score they just used c major/a minor

It just sounds a lot better and trombones shouldent be doing the main melody at the beginning in my part

@VipersHearing Yeah that's been like the main point of jazz since the very earliest ages to make new stuff from old stuff. My Favourite Things wasn't meant to be played on sax...

And I can hear Tommy Flanagan saying don't record this piece without allowing me a little practice time. When we shut the door on possibilities and creativity we become stale.
