Wow great video...it was all started with the Momotaro family, then i have known also the Shabani family, next is the Haoko family....now i got to know all gorrilas live in Japan.. I am sad for Laura...and also the silverbacks who lives alone.... They are all amazing and lovable..but the Momotaro family catches my heart..they are so close to human behavior... Momotaro, the calm and yet strict father Genki, the loving mother Gentaro, the caring brother Kintaro, the energetic and playful baby 🥰🥰

I wish they could have more offspring. Genki has become to old to have more. It would be lovely if she could, but it’s way to dangerous for her because of her health. Again, thank you. So sad about Laura. This is why humans should not hunt gorilla's for pets. I dont know Laura's story but I do know that gorilla's are hunted, the mother is killed and the poacher takes the baby, sells it for good price and buyer keeps baby gorilla as a pet. Then when it gets too big they have to get rid of it and if a zoo takes it on, the gorilla doesnt know how to survive with its kind. Sad!

@@GreatApesZoo this is really sad and heartbreaking to know. There are many hurdles and difficulties but Japan has always been a very advanced and innovative country. If possible please bring a young silverback from any Western country and pair him with Komomo and Momoka. Really love this video. I always love watching the gorillas of Japan in UA-cam. There could be a correlation with their enclosure and and pregnancy rates. Look at Momoko's enclosure it is lush and green closest to their natural habitat

For Nene, my guess as to why she can't get along with Annie is because her son Kyomasa were born in the same year by the same father. Since Annie was bottle fed and her mom sees her as a sister not a daughter, Shabani, the father stepped up and seems to be both mother and father to Annie. I'm sure Nene can feel Shabani, will protect Annie before Kyomasa, so i think she's jealous that her son isn't Shabani's main focus. Hard to tell what she's thinking but I think this scenario is possible.
As of right now (Dec. 2021) Shabani's son Kiyomasa has no potential mates in Japan. He's closely related to all the current females. It was a mistake to bring both Shabani and his brother Haoko to Japan.
Oh my goodness, I never thought of that! How sad for Kiyo. He is such a beautiful gorilla! I bet they will have to ship him away some place for a female 😢
I wonder, Annie is considered a hybrid, bottle fed by humains and can communicate with humans and gorillas. She's 8 yrs old, wouldn't she be perfect for Gentaro from the Kyoto Zoo. He's 10 yrs old.and was bottle fed too. He had a foster dad, before he went back to live with his family. By the way he loves and plays with his brother, I think he will be a great silverback. Maybe Kyomasa with either Komoko (maturity wise) or Momoko? But Momoko finds her dad annoying and sometimes Kyomasa can be annoying so i'm thinking she may not like him. lol Interesting to see what the zoos decide to do. There's not that many zoos, I wonder if any of them can accomodate, 2 separate Gorilla enclosures, for 2 separate families? I hope I make it to Japan some day. My first attractions will be all the zoos, starting with my favorite Kyoto Zoo. Genki's sweetness and story are so facinating and her sons are fun to watch as well as daddy Momotarou.
I feel sorry for Komomo. I wish soon a handsome silverback arrives from abroad for Komomo who becomes husband for Momoka also in future. They are sisters and would be happy to live together forever with one silverback. Maybe Kiyamosa could be exchanged because he would face the same problem of finding a mate.
Kiyo's not a baby like Gentaro, but thats because Shabani stepped up and has trained his kids, plays with them and pays much attention. Kiyo might very well be just as handsome, or if not more handsome then his father. And he'll be a great father.
Why wouldn't the caretakers of Show humanely euthanize him? If he has stopped eating, starving to death is not the way to let him die...breaks my heart. There are a couple of elderly females that could live with the first bachelor, Tao I think...it is not healthy to be alone for years, they are way to social. Couldn't Ai, Momotaro, ,Gentaro and Kintaro (when old enough) mate? They are not related. As well as Kyomasa and Genki are not related. Neither are Ai and Riki. . I read gorilla's prefer older mates.

同感です。モンタはモモコと一緒に来日したので血縁関係があるかもと言われていますが、コモモの最初の夫として同居させてみることはできないのかな、なんて思ってしまいます。雌にとっては二度目の夫が本命ですから最初は叔父でもいいかと。
今年の夏、遥か昔に動物園で見てたゴリラのピーコさんが健在だと知ってとても感激したのを思い出します😌。
長生きしてくれてありがとう、天国でゆっくりしてね。そして、日本のゴリラ🦍達を見守ってて下さい😊。

血縁関係の一覧表が、とても見やすくて良かったです。あと、いつも楽しいんだけど、動画内の文章が秀逸です。ゲンキあってのモモタロウ、モモタロウあってのゲンキ、という一文が特に好きです。今年はお別れが多い気がします。少し前にピーコさんが機嫌良さげに座っているのを見たばかりのような気がします。ひとつ質問ですが、血縁関係を見ていて、ゲンタロウやコモモは繁殖のために海外に行く。。という選択肢はないんでしょうか？

可能性が全くないわけではないと思いますが、あちこちで話を聞く限り絶望的な感じです。
①海外の動物園との交流が薄い。信用されていない。②検疫施設がほとんどない（東山にあるようですが）③空港会社がゴリラの空輸を受けてくれない。④コロナの問題が発生して、海外への移動がさらに厳しい・・・などでしょうか。
@@GreatApesZoo 最近のゲンタロウの様子を見ていると（UA-camで）青春真っ盛りで、ちょっとかわいそうな気がして。いくら繁殖させても、ファミリーツリーが広がっていかないなら、可哀想だと思いました。変な表現ですけど、わかってもらえるでしょうか？ハプスブルク家みたいです。健康な若いゴリラが発情を抑えるのも大変でしょうね。
若手が発散できない状況は残念ですね。
ヨーロッパの一部では、ゴリラのオスが余ってしまって殺処分なんて話も上がることがあるようです。
本来、ゴリラは動物園にはよろしくないのでしょうね。
とはいっても、野生でも一夫多妻ですからオスは余るのですが・・・

同感です。人間も最初の夫より二人目の夫のとの方が子に恵まれる例も多いので、コモモもモンタと暮らして慣れてから元気な若い雄と再婚できたら5人ぐらい産んでくれそう。

I wonder, Annie is considered a hybrid, bottle fed by humains and can communicate with humans and gorillas. She's 8 yrs old, wouldn't she be perfect for Gentaro from the Kyoto Zoo. He's 10 yrs old.and was bottle fed too. He had a foster dad, before he went back to live with his family. By the way he loves and plays with his brother, I think he will be a great silverback. Maybe Kyomasa with either Komoko (maturity wise) or Momoko? But Momoko finds her dad annoying and sometimes Kyomasa can be annoying so i'm thinking she may not like him. lol Interesting to see what the zoos decide to do. There's not that many zoos, I wonder if any of them can accomodate, 2 separate Gorilla enclosures, for 2 separate families? I hope I make it to Japan some day. My first attractions will be all the zoos, starting with my favorite Kyoto Zoo. Genki's sweetness and story are so facinating and her sons are fun to watch as well as daddy Momotarou.

I feel sorry for Komomo. I wish soon a handsome silverback arrives from abroad for Komomo who becomes husband for Momoka also in future. They
are sisters and would be happy to live together forever with one silverback. Maybe Kiyamosa could be exchanged because he would face the same problem of finding a mate.

Kiyo's not a baby like Gentaro, but thats because Shabani stepped up and has trained his kids, plays with them and pays much attention. Kiyo might very well be just as handsome, or if not more handsome then his father. And he'll be a great father.

Why wouldn't the caretakers of Show humanely euthanize him? If he has stopped eating, starving to death is not the way to let him die...breaks my heart. There are a couple of elderly females that could live with the first bachelor, Tao I think...it is not healthy to be alone for years, they are way to social. Couldn't Ai, Momotaro, ,Gentaro and Kintaro (when old enough) mate? They are not related. As well as Kyomasa and Genki are not related. Neither are Ai and Riki. . I read gorilla's prefer older mates.
