I love the composition of your artwork. With the off-center Light circle it looks more natural and fluid.
If it was more in the middle it might look a bit too static. But that's just how I roll.
Hope you have a fantastic autumn and please do a Catintermission with cozy cats
I'd like to add that the visual weight of the largest mushroom helps balance the light circle, to my eyes
This was so cozy to watch thank you 💕
For the future, a brown lineart pen would have kept more of the cozy vibes while still bringing it all together :)
Or sepia ^^
I think these inks would work really well in monochromatic pieces. Then you'd only have to activate one of the sticks. You could even add some gold or silver details at the end to spruce it up.
I love grinding the inks. It's actually a meditation for me. I've been getting into Chinese Calligraphy and that's one of the things that you do. Sometimes you spend more time grinding the ink than you do writing. But that's okay. Grinding the ink is suppose to represent oneness and becoming present in the moment. It's almost nice to sit down with a cup of coffee and do some ink grinding. I thought the illustration was really cute. The tall mushroom almost compensated for the off set lighting which I actually like. Lot's of people try so hard to do the whole centered thing that it's nice when someone goes off center for a while. I loved the painting and thought your style was really adorable.
I really like the layout of the image, actually, it feels like my eyes are more drawn to the fox because the off-center light, and it draws my view upwards to the sky. This is beautiful, you made an amazing illustration that breathes its own story
I love the ink sticks. I have small, round, white porcelain dishes that stack, into which I put the ground ink; a separate dish for each color. Although the dishes are small, there’s room for 2-3 puddles of weak-to-high pigmented mixes in each dish. I mix colors together on a separate large dish, so as not to muddy up the inks in the little dishes. The inks re-wet easily and keep for a long time. There is something calming and purposeful to grinding the inks. They go on very smooth, but some colors do stain the paper and are difficult to lift, so they do not act exactly like watercolors. And most of the colors mix nicely with each other. I’m a fan of the Japanese paints and inks!
Wow! This is beautiful. You're so good @ inks & watercolor. Favorite art channel for sure. I rewatch your videos all the time 💚
Foxes are already so cute, then you draw them even cuter. 🦊❤ Foxes are my second favorite animal with cats being my first. With this being said, your videos are always a treat for me. I get to see lots of cute foxes and cats! 🦊❤ 🐱❤
The final painting worked out really well, really magical and cute, the fact he was holding a lantern made him evoke the Hermit card in a tarot deck. The inks were the perfect choice for the painting. I have a full set in ink sticks as well, all the colours and white and metallics,I love usibg them I uesd them for inktober last year. I love the process of grinding the inks,t's quite mediative and they are realy vibrant and layer well. So great to see you using them to such great effect. I know they are really made for calligraphy work, but I find they are great to paint with. You can buy ink sticks in all colours online. My set aren't from Kuretake, but are from China ,I love how the ink sticks look when you first get them, with chinese characters in gold on them. I think the idea of the light circle worked really well and the composition does actually work and the final white stars add to the cute magical feel of the final painting.(matt)
The inks look lovely and your end result is cute and fun. I like the light effect and think you are right not to regret you line drawing! I had never heard of this set of inks, but have used black ink sticks before. It was great watching you work. Thank you. One of these years maybe I will remember Inktober before it gets here, I am always too late.
You can never have enough drawnings of foxes and cats
awww so cute and brightly coloured 😀
Guided access on your ipad disables touchscreen and works perfect for tracing
You can find that in accessibility in settings
O
I love how this turned out.
Now excuse me while I fight with myself saying I don't need more art supplies
So amazing and colorful
So cute, love the colors!
if I'm transfering a digital sketch to paper I tend to increase the contrast to darken the sketch then print it out and use it with a light box so no annoying angles or touch screen issues.
Oh I like the composition of it, it has something magical with the dark on the left en the lantaarn on the right. Your foxes are always so cute!
The composition of your piece is beautiful! This is a gorgeous work of art!
One managed to acquire these after a long time saving, it was so insanely hard to find a place that would deliver to Australia. The search was definitely worth it, I love working with watercolours and inks are no exception, making the inks makes it that much more satisfyingly wonderful that adds to the process in a wonderful way.
Where did you get the ink sticks from, I'm in Australia too
Such an incredible drawing!!!
I love that!
Inksticks made with pine or oil soot were invented in China several thousand years ago, and were only introduced to the Japanese around 600 AD. These Japanese colored inksticks are much more recent inventions, and should be ground on a white porcelain inkstone for better ink visibility. Ideally, you'd have at least two white ones - one for dark colors, and one for light - to avoid cross-contamination. Boku-Undo makes round and rectangular porcelain inkstones specifically for these kinds of inksticks.
These ink sticks are so neat. I really want to try them out now. I love your fox and lantern painting with them!
You are always so inspiring
Your art is so inspirational. you deserve more views
OMG these are soooo good ❤️❤️❤️
That dark green is so pleasantly juicy
I’m an autumn person for the exact reasons you named. Autumn is so wonderful!
I absolutely love this ♡♡♡♡
Don't worry about painting or drawing mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes but to me you do it perfectly fine. I suck at drawing since I have a disabilty but that doesn't stop me from doing things! 😉
Love it!
This turned out so cute! What you did with the lantern effect is a really cool concept, in my opinion. Also, I think the composition looks fine :)
As someone who uses a lot of watercolor and stuff, these ink sticks seem like a pretty cool thing to try out as well.
TheLeftyDragon28,I got a set of Chinise ink sticks last year for Inktober,in a beautiful box with a large set of colours,a couple of griding stones some chinese brushes and later found I could buy indiviual ink sticks online, including metallics,I really loved using them and still use them now, would highly reccomend trying them, they are really pigmented and vibrant and are lovely to paint with,I found I loved the process of griding the inks as well,Give them a try,you won't be dissapointed. (matt)
So pretty! I love this piece!! I would like to try the ink sticks some day. I just have too many other supplies to make use of first 🙂
very cool!
My grumpy black cat mug is my favorite monday mug ❤️
This was so fun and cute! I'd love to have a large poster of this on my wall!❤🐾🦊🍂🍁🦊
Beautiful picture! I'm currently playing with illustration style. And I adore foxes.
Love how this came out as always =) yer art is top notch! Im still hoping and waiting for your coloring book! you could make a killing for sure =D ill be the first in line! hehe
If it bothers you you could make a pair to this fox that's looking to the left ^_^
Makes me wanna paint
seus gatinhos aparecendo nos vídeos são sempre um momento de fofura 💗 achei interessante essa forma de usar nanquim, talvez teste essas barras algum dia!
uau, a ilustração final ficou incrível 💜🌌
I love your draw very well good cuter fox
Just rolling by, but I wanted to tell you how much I love your videos and art
(also not sure if you've mentioned it ever before or someone in the comments already but have you thought about some sort of light table for tracing?)
My mom and I are big fans of your art and your cats, she always asks me about them, could you pleeeease make the cat intermission?
Greetings from Chile :D 🇨🇱
I am not convinced that it would have been better if the light circle would be in the middle... In my opinion it is often more interesting if the focal point of the illustration isn't in the middle.
Can you make a cute mouse art piece to put on a mousepad? I'd buy one! 😅❤🐾
This is one of those things I REALLY wanna buy but know I shouldn't because I don't even have the patience to set up (open lol) my watercolor palettes most times, let alone grind anything for that long 😅
i don't even know where to buy them
@@ghoulchan7525 yeah they show up as either out of stock or super pricey. I saw a set on ebay going for over $300 🤯😱
@@martiisor i saw them in stock on Amazon for nearly 200. But only on the US one.. which adds rediculous import fees
We are all our own worst critics. I think it looks perfect.
😃
Are they made of Natural Pigment ?
Hello
Such a shame you use this only one time per year.. and call it old.. uff. thas tuff. i cant imagine the price of that set!
its 187€?! oh god.. never would i see this... :/
