So far your videos have helped me change the short shifter, rear ARB, rocker cover gasket, fuel filter, pollen filter and all three motor mounts on my focus. My car now drives like a dream, keep up the great videos. ❤from the UK
@@Horus_Works honestly mate, the Mk1 Focus is very popular in the UK but there isn't a whole bunch of videos on how to fix/upgrade it. Keep it going! 👍🏼
The best maintenance method: live in a place free of snow and salt on the roads. Great summary tho'. One thing: don't forget to visit a suspension shop, get your suspension and steering well aligned, every second year.
The Mk1 Focus cig lighter socket is permanently live, so if you leave a cheap 5V USB converter in the socket displaying LEDs for voltage it will be wasting battery energy for no good reason especially if you keep it garaged for weeks on end. Also 14.4V is a weird battery voltage but a good engine running (alternator on) voltage, that was not made clear. There are test modes using both the Cluster or the Fuel Computer (if fitted) that will provide a battery voltage reading without running the engine, which is what you really want because otherwise you are mostly testing the alternator. Of course those dealer tricks are not in the owners manual but widely available on the internet. Finally, if I am under the bonnet then I just use a multimeter to check the battery and maybe even the brake fluid ;)
Nice work mate It's also common sense, you may have forgot to mention when driving if there's any strange knocks, noises or vibrations . My evil twin Focus has been dormant over winter lol , back driving it soon
Did you know there is an hidden menu for the odometer screen in a focus? U can also check your voltage there and other fun stuff like your speed or RPM.
Hey Tim, great point!.. I did know about this, but forgot about it if I'm honest.. Why don't you comment and let us know what to press to be able to access the menu? Appreciate you watching 🙂👍
@@Horus_Works There is a video on youtube how to do it and in the discription there is a site wich tells what every number means. I don't know if it works on every focus but on mine EU spec wagon it does work wich is cool to see! U turn on the menu with the trip reset button and also control it that way so it's a bit weird to control but it works. Greetings from Holland! @@Horus_Works Mine used to be like that but now it's 750, with the climate control it goes lower even further, do you have any idea what might be the case? Thank you very much, I appreciate your help!
@@fpngames4403 unfortunately I can't tell from here, but I would definitely look at your ignition system... Make sure that your plugs and leads are perfect. Also your cam angle sensor should be fully functional (the only way to know is to replace it), and also clean your throttle body (NOT with throttle body cleaner). I have videos to do all of these jobs. One last thing I can think of - maybe you have a vacuum leak. If air is getting to your throttle body past the mass air flow sensor, it will mess with your idle. Check that all the air intake hoses and vacuum hoses are in good condition, and that there are no splits or tares anywhere letting air in. I hope that helps you, and good luck 👍
@@Horus_Works horus i forgot to tell you, when i disconnect the battery poles the idle gets fixed for some minutes then goes down again. Do you think that you can narrow it down from that? Thanks for taking the time to help me with this, i really appreciate it man.
Ho la stessa macchina, solo che la mia è gasolio. Potresti fare un video in cui spieghi perché non funziona la luce della retromarcia? La sfera del sensore retromarcia non fa bene contatto
Hey David, thanks for your comment. My wheels are: 17x7 with +49 offset. They are Ford Racing wheels, but they also put them on the ST170 and the SVT Focus with different centre caps. Tyres are 215/47/17 and if you'd like to get the rear wheels to sit flush like mine, you will either need wheel spacers, of axle spacers like what I did here: ua-cam.com/video/QyTExFjXArk/v-deo.html Appreciate you watching mate, and I hope I can count on your sub 👍

The car is like the tools, if you look after them, they look after you. Good advise.👍
Well said 👍
Very good advice. I also listen out for unusual sounds in the cabin while driving, may indicate bigger issues.
Good advice!

Nice video Eric.🥰
Thanks my friend, thanks for watching 😀👍
great video thanks for the upload, do you know once autobox pan removed and filter replaced, how much in litres it takes to refill? on the BA/BF ford
Hi mate, I believe the BTR auto gearbox in the Falcons takes 4L of oil. Make sure you get the right kind of oil: Castrol Transmax TQ 95
Nice Focus. Where did you buy the front bumper lip?
Thanks, the front bumper lip was a factory option on the Australian Focus Mk1.

is the silver car a ford focus or fiesta? please could you tel me the exact model and details of it as I absolutely love it and want to buy one Eric
Hello my friend, the silver car is a Ford Focus Mk1 Zetec. They also come as a Ford Focus ST170, or a Ford Focus SVT. Thanks for watching 😀

Sorry man, that's bad luck
I need parts for my focus 2000 mk1 any websites to recommend?
I always start at rockauto.com - their prices and delivery speed are excellent. Also try FS Werks, Steeda, and Burton Power for performance parts...
wheels name ?
Ford Racing 17" - the ST170 or SVT Focus wheels and very similar.
