  • Full contact Jousting on Black Friday at TRF. A Knight gets un-horsed towards the end of the video. Sound is out of sync but who cares? For stills see my website: Pygmypony.net

Hi everyone, I am the big girl in the black shirt and jeans in the vid. Trust me this is not fake. Never is. When Jason was unhorsed, he dislocated his shoulder. Daisy is the horse who was not wanting to go. This was her first weekend with KOM, she actually got quite good.

Having worked with the Knights of Valour (which as you call it, the FMJ guys) I can tell you this is standard wording on the lyst. "At the ready" is a salute to your knight. "Come about" means they come around the lyst together. "Charge on" means go. But you have to remember they are working with living breathing animals. Sometimes horses just don't want to go or go the way you want them to!

You are also correct. FMJ was fully scripted as a TV show. This is par for the course at any jousting show during a Medieval faire!

The lances here are hemlock and not fluted. You need to be there to hear the force of the impacts and you can get broken pieces of the lances as souviners.

It mostly the format that bothers me, and the announcer guy is doing a really half assed job. "jousters come bout, lets go, charge on!" At what point are they supposed to go? There is a reason why runners use a starting pistol, one clear loud noise to signal that you should go. Should he go at the beginning of charge? the end of charge? the end of on? at lets go?
Also the ring seems shorter and much less well defined.
FMJ has way more polish and formality.

FMJ is fully scripted, directed and produced this is raw. Yeah the announcer sucks! I agree. This is a reaction to Sherwood Forest Faire reintroducing full contact Jousting. For stills see type pygmypony into google and click on the first link that comes up.

The lances are not fluted! You need to be there up close and then you can see.

This is so poorly organized compared to Full Metal Jousting, they don't even seem to be taking it seriously.

No stupid they are trying to make It a legit sport, they are trying to move it out of the pussified renaissance not keep it in.

What are you talking about scripted? If anything this looks way more rigged then FMJ. In the first episode of KoM the white knight wins by one point? Yea right.
