- We are exploring the Exuma Island group in the Bahamas. Such amazing water colours! We find a shallow place where we can put our Southerly 480 on the sand and try beaching her, then wait for low tide to dry out.
We've also been testing out the Varifold 4-blade folding propeller for a year now, travelling 10,000 miles. We demonstrate how it works and do a review.

Navigating in The Bahamas is all about the color of the water, spend a little time in a small boat, checking the depth sounder while watching the color change and you will know the depth to about a foot within a very short time. Fair Winds!!!

Southerly....a fantastic boat brand.
Good job as always guys. I was wondering in heavy seas and tropical gales how does the Southerly keel compare for handling and steadiness compared to a stationary keel in something like an Amel? Also curious how the interior quality compares.

Nice boat in great condition in paradise. What more could you ask for? Hmm, let me think. Best time to beach is slightly after high tide (peak) so the boat can easily be re-floated on the peak of high tide.
