Had mine for about 5 years now and have stopped looking at other cameras. It does everything I need. I slipped up and let it fall off a table when I had a production LCD screen on top that made it top heavy when sitting on the shoe (on the table). The flip-out LCD screen was open and it fell and broke it. Had to use the top mounted LCD until I found a replacement flip-out. It took me over a year to find a parts camera to get the replacement screen. Finally,,,, waiting on the delivery now. Take Note,,,parts are hard to come by and still expensive. Will be more careful from now on.
Very good quality video from the HVX,and beautiful location and log cabin.I think my 4k TV does enhance the quailty a bit,but even so the 480p footage is pretty good, although a bit yellowish tint on the indoor footage .Thanks Brandon
Yeah it was a little yellow. I set it to I think the day light warmer white balance setting. On the screen it didn’t look very yellow just cozy warm haha. I also didn’t do any post color correction just so you can see the raw footage. And when I captured the 480p footage it should have been in 4:3 but when I captured it I forgot the settings was at 16:9 so the footage is stretched but honestly it doesn’t look too bad I don’t think it’s very noticeable.
I have used a hpx170 for many years and recently bought a HVX200 for backup/mini DV use. Any suggestions on cables to upload on and software to transfer minidv files? Thanks!
I got some different methods I’ve used to capture footage in this playlist. How To Capture Your Video Footage ua-cam.com/play/PLLCeXl20RsPbMMZhUAIdi5C3HPpPviZ07.html
Could you consider making a video on the state of the current lens market for dcr camcorders? There are literally no opteka lens to fit a 37mm camera left on the market, are there any other reliable brands?
They have always fascinated me as well, that’s why I started this channel haha. But the 1080i footage was recorded to a P2 card and the 480p footage is from the mini dv tape
This channel is severely underrated, cinematic shots and music, and a person behind the camera who has passion and an affinity for what he is doing
Thank you 🥰
This is gorgeous test footage. It not only shows off the camera but tells a nice story.
Yes I love the footage that comes out of the hvx200
Just got one, love your footage dude
Thank you 😊
