Here’s a brief and unstructured review based on my first impressions per my letterboxd! Let me know if you guys like this. I don’t necessarily want to become one of those channels that churns out barebones rambling reviews every DAY but I would like to upload more and I feel my letterboxd reviews can be turned into videos sometimes! I didn’t get to say everything I wanted but I was racing against a dying camera because I was unprepared! Lol. And still figuring out the lighting in here.

*I know one of the hot topics about this film was the AI art used in the commercial break cards. I did not mention it because everyone else already has.

Honestly it wasn't that big of a deal. A couple of shots that were on screen for just a few seconds.

I am glad you are turning your letterbox reviews into videos. This will certainly make you more accessible. Way to go for being too awesome for your class, given your years of quality production on UA-cam, you probably knew more than the instructor. Bless that instructor's heart but he/she was not in your league.
Spoiler My take on the ending is the talk show host is championed as a hero. This evil girl causes all this mayhem, and he kills her ending her reign of terror. It appears that he is in league with evil forces, and his reward is to save the day and world. The world not knowing this was the ultimate setup. The girl earlier gives the cryptic statement you be famous after this show. By the way, some of the characters in the movie are based on real characters. The sceptic is based on the Amazing Randy, a very influential magician, who would do exactly what the movie character did.

Aw thank you for your support. Both on my review and about my class.
OH and thanks for your interpretation on the ending! that makes a lot of sense.

I like to think that this exists in the same universe as 'Ghostwatch'

Reminds me a horror version of the Larry Sanders Show which was a '90's cable tv series, that also was about a late-night talk show interspersed with back scene antics.

I really enjoyed this movie, even though I too wasnt that surprised by the reveals and wasnt a fan of the CGI either. Loved the central performances. They also really captured the fact that everything in the 70s was indeed orange and brown (trust me)

Past couple of months, I've been going in and out of depression. Have barely exercised, like I use to for years and years. Now I am getting back into exercising. Summer is coming up. Got a bunch of baby chicks. Feeling good. I just hope my brother's issues don't take me down. I love my brother so much.
Anyway. I have not seen this movie yet, but I will next year and I really hope I like it. I hope it isn't just 70's aesthetics.
"every once in a while I like to dip my toe into like current events in the horror world." Same, and sometimes I find some rare gems. A lot of the times I just find garbage.
Anyone who knows me, I hate found footage, but there are some gems in the genre that are technically "found footage" but in the traditional sense, not the modern sense and Late night with the devil would be in the traditional sense. A perfect example of "traditional found footage" would be my favorite found footage movie; Cannibal holocaust. Late night with the devil has been done before and it;s a film I like and watch every so often every October; WNUF Halloween Special. Which takes place in the 80's. So I hope I like and enjoy Late night with the devil more then WNUF.
And I do want to give Switchblade sisters a rewatch, lol. Didn't love it the first time, I liked it, but didn't love it. Might love it the second time.
My biggest issue with the film was some of the casting, but I might not care now that I've had time to sit with it. Bunny is by far my favorite character in the movie.
Also....I love Crab's 70's fashion. Those pants with the suspenders and and yellow shirt.

Another link to Scanners was Michael Ironside did the opening narration to this film. Great little Aussie movie.

I loved how this movie was presented. Bohemian Grove is something I hadn't thought about in a long time, it'll really send you down a conspiracy hole! I'll be watching again eventually to try and catch all the times the wife's ghost shows up.

The characters of the sceptic and the mentalist. Are based on real people that would appear on talk shows in the 70s and 80s. I can't remember the real name of the mentalist. But the sceptic was a guy called the Amazing Randi. He would also go on talk shows with a check just like in the movie.

I actually enjoyed this movie, although the ending left me confused for a few minutes before i kinda realised it. Overall i enjoyed the 1970s style they went for. So unique.
    Great video my friend 🙌🏻

Always loved when Carson's guest stayed on a and were chatting with the other guest. Fascinated when Johnny had the latest 'hot girls' on and the comedians kept interrupting and trying to make her laugh...!!

My wife and I got to see this on a date night right before it left theaters and it was pretty amazing.
I was super impressed by the production design. So often when I see a period piece, they screw something up and sneak something modern in that takes me out of it, but I didn't spot any mistakes in this one! Except for the HD video passing as U-matic tape, it looks like it could've been filmed in the 1970s.

So good! One of the best horror films of the year! The whole AI anger was a whole lotta nothing. Echo chamber of idiots honestly. They do realize that CGI is used in some films too, right? Selective outrage 😂

cgi and ai art are not the same thing. cgi is a medium, ai is a means of producing art. while you can use ai to create cgi animation, it's mostly done by actual people since ai results look uncanny and strange at the best of times.
