Not only these were the last episodes of Season 8, these were the last episodes in 4:3 aspect ratio. After these, they changed it to 16:9 because HDTVs were popular around that time. imo it wasn’t bad, but it definitely felt different.

The transition to HDTV in 2012 was quite late for SpongeBob actually, other shows like South Park and The Simpsons were already making the jump to HD around 2008/2009.

The tour episode was amazing and pretty funny. Spongebob and Squidward singing and playing instruments together was so catchy and heartwarming

“Hello Bikini Bottom” was one of my favorite episodes. Colonel Carper is played by Andy Samberg. Also, I love the part of SpongeBob and Squidward singing together while they play their instruments. So awesome and heartwarming! Anyways, that concludes Season 8. Now, we’re off to Season 9.

Remember in the first couple seasons he would burn them? I guess hes had to fill in for SpongeBob so much since then he’s gotten it down. Lol

Hello Bikini Bottom is one of my favorite episodes. I’m glad to see Squidward and SpongeBob making music together. Even though things didn’t go quite well if it wasn’t for Mr. Krabs‘s stupid shenanigans. But in the end, they never gave up, and they achieve what they wanted by that amazing song, and Mr. Krabs got his restaurant back before Plankton could ever bought it. What a magnificent way to end season eight

I loved Hello Bikini Bottom. The clarinet and ukelele song was really good! Colonel Carper, the purple fish in white is voiced by Andy Samberg from SNL and Brooklyn 99. High Tide Time is also a bop. And it made me laugh so hard when that old fish was like “you’re being too loud! Still too loud! Too… LOUD!!” 💀 Ned and The Needlefish from Wigstruck return! And Ned doesn’t have the wig this time, lol. Guess that fad got old so fast. And that ending song tho 🤧

really curious as to what you guys will think of the second half of s9 and beyond. Midway through s9 the style and tone changes in a way that's comparable to the one between s3 and s4 due to new writers, but I feel like it's even more divisive since at least with the seasons right after the movie there's a consensus that they aren't as good as the first three. Meanwhile with s9-12 some consider it a Renaissance of sorts while others actually consider it to be worse. I'm curious as to whether you'll vibe with that shift or not like you did with the one after the movie. It's way more cartoony and experimental
disclaimer that the first 11 eps of s9 (referred to as s9a) are still by the s4-8 crew though, so even though it's widescreen there's not really a difference. between e11 and e12 is the second movie though, but i'm not sure whether you're doing that before or after s9. either way, I'd suggest doing it in between, since it really is two different seasons that are only part of the same "season" for production reasons.
Season 9 is gonna be very interesting, there is where the animation starts to change and full HD.

The Good Krabby Name and Move It Or Lose It are mid but 5:44 is bizarre, looks out of place. The real star of this video is Hello Bikini Bottom, one of my favorite specials in all of SpongeBob. I love every single bit of music in this special, especially Never Give Up which is without a doubt my favorite SpongeBob song. Awesome visuals, self-aware lyrics and it's also deep, it was the last song of the dark age, after which I personally feel like the show got a lot better. The story is good as well and I really appreciate the call back to Krusty Krushers.
