I bought this radio from a very well known radio shop. It was new in the box when I bought it. I won't name the shop because I don't roll like that and it will just cause hate, etc. Good job, brother.
Stryker radio and the company customer service is top notch. Hade a few emails with their support folks when I had water in the older SRA-10 when I ran it a few years back. If they ever made a base radio, man it would be ordered yesterday! Till then my 955 in the mobile will do. LOL
Well well. Looks like I just found a new source to help me decide on a new radio for my second vehicle. I really like the way you shoot straight. I’m a retired airline pilot, 77, and just returning to CB after many years. No doubt about it, I am learning that I have a lot to learn. Right now, I’m running a President McKinley with a heater on vehicle # 1. It took me awhile, but finally I have a very tight, and clean signal. I run a Wilson mag mount. SWR is kinda high at 1.7. Looking at a new Stryker, or the new President for vehicle #2. Does Stryker have an auto squelch? Thanks in advance man.
Great job cleaning that radio up, it’s no longer a hack job, those Strykers can be complexed to work on and I am impressed. The audio sounded BODACIOUS!👍🏻
Thanks for paying attention, I know the videos are long but I must show how they perform when they come in and most definitely show how they perform after I provide my services. Thanks for your support👋🏻
Another great video. Thanks dude. Any chance you can show us how to add a send key jack to the 955 v2? I'd like to add a QRM eliminator to mine and need a send key plug for it. I'm hoping it's just a couple of components to solder to an rca jack. Cheers.
Have not been a big fan of the Stryker radios. But then, I have not seen too many that were set up right, like this. You do them justice. 👍 Smilin', I'm off the key. 🇺🇸👊
Hey buddy, i have one of these radios they are a fantastic performer on all bands with an awesome receive. My Stryker has a better receive on ssb and fm than my Yaesu by miles.
Start out with three slugs, one for 25 watts, one for 50 watts and third will be 100 watts. Now, these will need changing if your wattage will exceed 100 watts but this is good starting ground since most radios are just low powered units. Also, make sure your slugs are the models for the correct frequency as well which will be 27MHZ.
@@GroundControl204 thank you for the info. Great Videos! 267 WestCoast. I follow all the videos and info. Your funny on some the comments u make while making your videos Merry Christmas!!
@@GroundControl204 Hello GC! My 955 is in a 2018 Chevy Silverado, fender driver side middle of the hood mounted, 14 feet rg8x, power going to battery ground in cab near radio, the 3 antennas I use are 5.5 Francis, 6’ skipshooter and 102. All have the same amount of noise but the 102 gets a flat swr where the other two are around 1.5. Some of the noise comes from my lights the other comes from when I turn my steering wheel lol. I’ve asked others this same question and I’ve tried many different things but nothing has changed the amount of noise this 955 puts out. Many say it’s normal and I’m starting to believe it. Thank you again :)
There is way more to it than just those two pots to be honest, plus everything is so finely adjusted that using a clock face comparison will do you no justice without an oscilloscope sir. 73
I hear it with out my hearing aids.
Get her done!!! You did mine and works like a charm!!!! Clear as hell!!! Using it as a bench radio and Love it!!!!
Hey Joey, thanks for stopping by again and showing some love. 73

It gets the job done for sure. 73
Saw the new version 955 that is coming.... Lots of new great features built right in . Can't wait to see the software side of things.

A bbi comment thread brought me here. Glad it did too.
Alright bro, I appreciate you tuning in. As for BBi yeah buddy a great box builder to say the least. 73
I so wish Stryker would make a base radio and not mobile units. Something about the size of my Galaxy 2547 chassis.
Videos are awesome love to watch them I have a president Lincoln two plus learning a lot about it

Yeah buddy, Stryker is my favorite radio’s. You just can’t go wrong with them. 73 👋🏻
Where are you located? I have a 955 I’d like you to go threw and make sure she’s top notch.
I’m in the Washington DC area, everything starts with an email sir. Groundcontrol204@icloud.com
Setting up my bench. I have 3 bird meters. Please advise correct slugs to use for reflet, average and peek. Much appreciated. Mr 267 Westcoast.

How can I get in touch with you to have you do some work to my 655?
I received your email sir, I’ll be in touch soon. Thank you for your patience. 73
No doubt about it. You say that way too much. Lol. Great video though
No doubt about it☑️🤣
Do you sell new radios
… In the near future sir, most customers send their radio to me directly from their retailer. 73
How to get in contact with you I have a Stryker 955 it works great I want it wide banded so I can run the mixer and it works right?
Groundcontrol204@icloud.com
My 955 has 5 s units of noise all the time in my mobile. Is that pretty normal for these Strykers? Thank you!
Not normal at all Fox, 955 has a pretty good receiver straight out the box. What’s your antenna, ground, and coax looking like?

I see you are correcting another splatter box again, awesome work you provide, and you’re right “Clean RF is the best RF.” 73🤩✌🏻
Yes, another truck stop hack job. But it’s squared away now. Thanks for tuning in and paying attention. 73👋🏻
How do I go about sending my radio to you
Hi Mr. Cummings, everything starts with an email sir. Groundcontrol204@icloud.com
How do you unlock 11 meter band on version 2 model?
There is a white wire in the front of the PC board, remove or snip it. 73
Do u sell these?
No sir, customers have their radios shipped to me from the retailer.
Do you have to contact you for work
Groundcontrol204@icloud.com
Do you sell these all set up and ready to go?
That may be an option soon to come, as of now most customers have them shipped to me directly from the retailer sir. 73
Where did the settings for anl/mod and a.m. mod end up ? What positions, ie; 10:00, 12:00 ? Just curious Anybody ?
