Growl is an absolute legend when it comes to songs, especially if you compare it to other songs that came out that era, but... if I'd had to absolutely choose between that song and Call me baby, I think I would choose the latter. Can I explain? Honestly no, it's just a feeling, but I do know that the bridge plays a big part in it. A fun story about this song: the original title is Call me daddy and there is actually a demo version online with the original lyrics. Safe to say I like the finished version better, because I would not be able to keep a straight face if they sung Call me daddy 😂
Now that we have squarely entered Exodus era (already?! so soon!), this ranking just reached a whole new level of difficult lol... case in point: this video. In my personal ranking, Call Me Baby is above Growl.
Genuinely the closest Miracles in December gets to Christmas-y lyrics is "Because each snowflake / Is one of your tear drops"-that's it. No other mentions of winter/Christmas/etc. I feel like the success of that song is why the winter albums stopped including explicit Christmas music and started being the emotional gut punches we know and love lol Oof choosing between those two is difficult. I'd say Call Me Baby for the recorded version, Growl for the live. Kyungsoo doing Growl live is just-chef's kiss, love it, he should growl-sing all the time.
