When I set this up it created a recursive loop in my Zap. So zap looks for source = popup, and applies the tag. The contact has been updated. So Zap looks again at the source, if it's pop up, it again applies the tag. Over and over. What am I missing?

Segments automatically regenerate constantly. As long as you are getting the data about e.g. rock, jazz etc. into Mailchimp then if you've setup your segment to include, e.g. rock, then all contacts that have selected rock will appear in the segment.

So if the subscriber click somewhere to show interest, he will be automatically added in this group… But now, when he buy a program, I would like to automatically remove him from the interest group and add him to the active program group… Is there a way to automate it? Also, each program is different with different length and periods… like 1 cohort for the year, 2 cohorts a year..etc is there a way to follow which program he were in? Thanks!😊

I'm so glad that I was able to find your video, Gary. It helped me out a ton! I manage a long list of subscribers and found out that some of my new subscribers were probably not receiving my sent emails. I only sent the emails out to those subscribers who were tagged. I had manually tagged subscribers but never went back in to tag the new subscribers (*sigh). You were absolutely right with having to go back to rewatch the steps, but it was definitely a simple process. Great video I wish I found sooner. I had another question for you. I have a couple scheduled campaigns to go out to people with a specific tag. Will the now new tagged subscribers be included to receive the email campaign? Or do I need to go back in to edit the campaign? Thank you for your help on this.
Hi Charnice, glad that the video helped :) In response to your question, Mailchimp calculates who to send to at the time of sending (and not the time you created the campaign). If you schedule a campaign for say, next Friday, and then tag contacts before the campaign is sent, the newly tagged contacts will be sent the campaign, I hope this helps.

Hi Domy, yes you can. There are various ways to do this e.g. if you use WordPress with Gravity Forms you can have Gravity forms fill the URL in your Mailchimp Audience. Another way if to create multiple landing pages in Mailchimp and then each landing page allows you to tag the contacts that submit their information on that landing page; you can then trigger Customer Journey based on a tag.

I know this is an old video, and I don't know if you know it but here it goes.. Im running in to a problem (its Mailchimp but I guess its the same everywhere) where costumers who signed up using my coupon code sign up form, is unable to be automatically tagged with the free download as well - which is not good. That means everyone signing up for the coupon code, but also uses free downloads later, is not getting all the mail regarding the free downloads, but only a coupon code mail. The problem is that new costumers, only get one tag automatically (so its the same wise versa, they can make a free download, and then ONLy get tagged that, even though they sign up in the sign up form as well. In that case I would want Mailchimp to register that this specific customer, used both sources, and therefor tags the customer with both of the tags, instead of just one, and only that one, leaving me to manually add the 2nd tag... Wow, that's pretty sophisticated, what you did. I'm disappointed that Mailchimp doesn't provide the functionality to do that natively. Now, a related question: on my new subscriber form I have checkbox options for the User to choose. What I would like to do is: if User chooses checkbox ONE, then tag that User's records with tag "ONE". If he chooses TWO, then tag his User record with "TWO". If he chooses both options, then give him tag= ONE and tag = TWO. Do I need to use Zapier to do that too? Or is there a way in mailchimp to do it? Thank you very much!
Hi David, if the checkbox data are passed from the form to a field in Mailchimp you can create a Customer Journey in Mailchimp to tag the contact as required.

Hey Andreia, You need to make sure that each popup is populating the 'Source' field in your Audience differently (so you can identify which popup form the contact used). You'll then be able to tag people based on the 'Source' field.

This would need to be done outside of Mailchimp. Perhaps Zapier however I'm not certain.

If you add fields to contain the start or expiry of the cohorts you can use Zapier to do what you want.
I just did that, the bad that with the free version it is not possible, since we have more than one event on Zapier.
Zapier do change the limits of their free account sometimes unfortunately :(

Hi Jason, it depends on whether the form developer has added the functionality. I don't know of any forms that allow this but there may be some.

Can you do the same with source url?
Yes. If you have the source URL in Mailchimp then that will definitely work.

Thanks Rev. Zapier have changed their free functionality since the video was made. I'll make a replacement video as this functionality can now be done in Mailchimp with Customer Journeys.

I haven't seen that before. Try to clear your Browser cache as it may help ...
