Christmas Candlelight Concert, Akron, OH
In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.
Our God, Heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ...
Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
Cherubim and Seraphim thronged the air;
But His mother only, in her maiden bliss,
Worshiped the beloved with a kiss.
What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him: give my heart.
About two seconds ago I found this video had existed. Seriously takes my breath away and makes me so emotional. Julie this recording is so good in quality compared to others out there.
Other than that I am literally speechless right now....
This is absolutely beautiful. Best choir.
This gets me so excited for Christmas/Christmas Candlelight Concerts!! I hope to be singing with the alumni next year!!
this is being sang painfully slowly
+llamasys the great true, but i still love it
Agreed.My choir sings it slightly faster.
I sang this song for the first time in a church ensemble a couple years ago and fell in love with this arrangement; absolutely wonderful rendition.
Seriously the best performance of this song that I have found so far on the internet! The men sound so nice! Girls hitting all the notes with strength. Well done! Happy to have this for practice!
Angelina Jacobsen it's far too slow!
Perfect interpretation of this beautiful carol
Which night was this recorded?
Im learning this song in my singing lessons. It sounds so nice!! Especially when my singing teacher sings it. she sounds like this entire choir singing. This was amazing
