growing up a Korn fan I couldn't understand why Brian would "quit" the band. but as years go on forgetting about music I listened to as a kid, now as a father revisiting this story I completely get it. he didnt quit anything, he chose to live for his family. just amazing the strength Brian had to see the big picture. I really cant think of any big rockstar that had the courge/strength to walk away at the peak of stardom, like a kid in a candy store choosing that hes had enough. anyone leaving a band due to drugs/alcahol is usually kicked out, never deciding to do it on there own. just amazing, true role model!

Actually he hasn't done a Godly job at all. It would highly be to your best to Not follow Brian's lead.
He didn't mention Christ name once, neither did she. And since you're right, he's fighting for his life, he is guaranteed by God to lose his life.
Read the Scriptures man, it's all there. Brian is holding on to his old life, trying to save it (as you said), and that is the God Truth best way to lose it for eternity.

HTSS8 or maybe he gets to reach more people with the Gospel by staying where he is? God clearly has worked through him and on him so why judge him? Pray for him instead to withstand the temptations and to continue to reach others with the message of redemption through Christ.
One of the things people have come to despise about the US flavor of Evangelical Christianity is this specific robotic way of speaking, thinking and being that constantly focuses on the sins of others while not addressing it’s own shortcomings and excesses. You don’t have to look and act like a Mormon missionary from the 50’s to have a relationship with the Holy Father that changes your heart and outlook on life. Living for Christ has little to do with anything external.
He didn’t mention Christ in this video which I’m conflicted about but in the end if it helps lead people who are needing mental health assistance to seek it, then perhaps through that journey they will come to know God and be truly healed. Many are conditioned to turn away from help completely and run the other direction at the first mention of His name. If they are drawn in by the positive nature of Brian’s story of transformation, then maybe they will seek to learn more on their own terms.
No one can be forced to accept the existence of God (first hurdle) and to understand the true nature and awesomeness of His promise of salvation for us through Christ’s death and resurrection for our sins without studying it and coming to internalize it on their own terms. We (former non-believers like myself) all approach the topic with different questions to overcome and walls to break down before it hits us like a bolt of lighting.
So Brian Welch simply giving the testimony of his life and reaching out to those most in need of a change in their life in this way opens the door to that conversation and hopefully lights that spark in the darkness for someone out there needing it.

      Your disdain and blindness for God's instructions how to live holy, test the spirit that says it's of God, and warn the religious of their lip service and disobedience is sad and all too common of those that parrot what you do. The childishness of your pretended zinger replies show that even in the world you're immature and naive, obvious flows into even less maturity in the Spirit. Effort was graciously given, definitely not deserved, and you reject wisdom and correction. The final step is feet dusted off and you're left to the one who not only reveals to men your clear rejection of His commands but also has logged even your hearts every haughty flutter.       Jesus christ said and is saying today;
Do not be afraid, because I am the first and the last, the alpha and the omega.
And all those armies armed against you are nothing but a passing whirlwind of the dead.
I am from before time and I am after time, before the beginning of everything and after the end of all creation, I am. And they are all locked in one pedo of time that I have given to every creature, and beyond that pedal I cannot stretch.
Don't be afraid, because I was dead and here I am alive. Don't be afraid of death either. I am before death and after death. Death is my servant, and I have sent my servant into the world to serve me. And I surrendered to my servant in three days, and commanded him to let me go, and behold, I am alive.
I am the owner of death as well as life. I am the owner of time as eternity. Do not be scared! For ever and ever I am alive. And you will be alive with Me.
And all those who remain faithful to Me and do not fear, will be alive with Me.
Fear not, I am - alpha and omega.
Go with him and you will have no fear whatsoever! God loves you and cares about you. Repent and see His love change your life for ever!

That in itself is AMAZING!!!That says so much right there, there is no harder job in existence than being a parent!! That's in a two parent household, it's extremely difficult, then there you are, a single parent, it doesn't get more difficult than that!!! You definitely aren't giving yourself enough credit at all!!! That tells me that you're an absolutely amazing, and SELFLESS person!!! It just sounds like you need to get a little break, there's nothing wrong with that, treat yourself to something relaxing and something that is just for you. I know that can be easier said than done but having a sitter once in a while can do wonders, lol!! Keep up the great job , I wish you and your family the very best. You hang in there and just slow down a little, enjoy them while you can, lol.

What a co-inky-dink. He also struggled with meth. He wrote a whole book about it. Lol. So I'm surprised he is focusing on alcoholism here instead of the whole party. Cause its definitely a different game being a poly-sub abuser and being an alcoholic. As someone who abused and, to some more contained level, still do drugs. It's easier to fight one monster versus 20 monsters. 😂😂 but, these are the choices we must make I suppose.

This is freaking awesome. The stigma behind certain drugs and drug abuse is confusing for some kids. Social peer pressure can turn into addiction from the very first time trying it . Some things broadcasted about drugs are so false and way over rated education is best policy and our responsibility to teach our kids drugs facts Rules

I don’t have a kid, but I am 34 and a heroin addict of 8 years now. And I’m so fed up of it.. I’m getting clean, I’ve just picked Korns music back up again for the first time since Issues and loving it, but this story is really hitting home with me and I feel like there is a reason I’m listening to this story now, at a time where I truly want to be clean. I’m honestly ready.

Spirit speaks through music, be it joy or pain. Korn was a big part of my early 20s. It spoke deeply to my own anger, helped me articulate it. I’m almost 50 now. And I’m ok. I’m living in a life of love 💕 now, and Brian’s struggle, and recovery story, very much aided me on my own path. Thank you for the healing. Blessed be 🙏🏼

I'm a recovering heroin addict, 21 years. I grew up listening to Korn, and going to the shows. I'm 48 years old and I grew up in a violent home, multiple concussions broken noses and a fractured skull, all from my father. He went to church 4 times a week and hid behind the church. I don't go to church because I know some monsters hide there. I never let girlfriends get close enough to me to have a relationship that would amount to anything, then Rachel came along ( I'm sobbing now trying to type this) no matter how much I pushed her away she continued to show me love. I even had a little girl to another woman and she still didn't turn her back on me. We got married 9 years ago and we have a total of 3 children. I struggle to this day with opening up to her. It is great to hear your story. I had such a terrible life stuff I have never told anyone. I'm surviving but not the person I could be.

I dont know what I did yesterday, but I can clearly remember my 13 year old self during the mid 90s, somewhere in Argentina, sitting with my 6 string ibanez RG, listening to life is peachy trying to play along and failing miserably. I Kept messing up my guitar's setup trying to tune low with .09-.42's and a floating bridge -- sounded like a wet fart but it was a wholesome and fun way of spending my time, and I dont regret a single second. A part of me still thinks about getting a 7 string and coming full circle hehe. Thanks for the memories mr. welch
