You are listening to a true countertenor give a marvelous live performance. No falsetto here, just countertenor, and no one will ever perform this song better.
The late Bobby Hatfield!!! I was 15 yrs old when I heard him sing this beautiful song on the Andy Williams show in 1965. I'm 73 years old and love hearing him this song. He owns this song. No one sang it better than he did. Pure raw talent! RIP Bobby! ❤❤❤
What a performance! Done live: no autotune, no electronic enhancements, no reverb, or any artificial tweaking. Just pure, golden talent and ability, done in one live take in front of a live studio audience. They don't make singers like this anymore!
This is blue eyed soul. The late Bobby Hatfield made this song number one and its remained a classic. No one has done this song with as much feeling or as great as Bobby. Yes its old school when singers could actually sing.
The Righteous Brothers (not related) were made up of Bobby Hatfield with his beautiful tenor voice & Bill Medley with his deep bass voice. Their style of music is called blue-eyed soul. They were magic together. They sometimes did solo versions of songs but mostly together. This one is done by Bobby Hatfield & is the best version hands down of this classic song. Sadly we lost Bobby Hatfield almost 20 years ago. He had a beautiful one of a kind voice. I would recommend "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" to see both guys singing from the group.
Bobby was and is ìncomparable ' so much more than his incredible voice and range and unique style and smile. He always seemed to be enjoying himself èspecially teasing Bill.
This song, and this performance is considered one of the best ever recorded. Yes, you have no doubt heard this song or bits of it before, because it is so iconic that it has been used in movies, commercials off and on since the 1964, and many other great singers have covered this song, including Elvis Presley, but Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers is the ultimate. Righteous Brothers were wildly popular in their day, for many years, and now, their YT videos are among the most viewed and reacted to, in the world. This song has at least 60 million views world wide.
This was used in the movie Ghost. This is the way it was done in 1965. No autotunes. Just a microphone and God given talent. This song was recorded by many artists but Bobby Hatfield owns this song. Nobody can sing it like Bobby did. RIP Bobby Hatfield. The Righteous Brothers are a duo of Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley. They both sang solos in their shows. This will always be Bobby's. You need to listen to You've Lost That Loving Feeling, the most requested song of the 20th century.
The song has been covered 676 times by someone's count, so many people have heard some version of it. It was used in the movie "Ghost." Bobby Hatfield owns the song, and the only question is who is second best. Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley did solos on their albums, and Bobby won the coin flip to get the solo of "Unchained Melody." The genre is called blue-eyed soul, which is really just soul. The duo's recording of "You Lost That Loving Feeling" was, according to BMI, the most played song of the twentieth century.
There are two Righteous Bros but at times they did solos. This was Bobby Hatfield (tenor voice) doing Unchained Melody thus was live no do overs just his gorgeous voice and a small microphone no one has or will ever do this song like Bobby. Many Artists before and after him have done this song but Bobby OWNS IT.Many fell in love to this song and with him he was gorgeous ❤. It was played in the movie Ghost. You might know that movie. When he and His partner sings it's magic.
This is Bobby Hatfield, tenor/countertenor with an amazing vocal range as well as vocal agility, live on The Andy Williams Show. His partner, Bill Medley, was offstage with Andy as this was Bobby's solo. You may have heard the studio version in the movie Ghost, but this live performance is superior. Check out You've Lost That Loving Feeling, the most played song on the airwaves of the 20th century, to hear both Brothers. If you want to experience Bobby cutting loose watch his live performance of Summertime in 1965. I'll put links in a reply, as YT seems to delete my comments with links.
This is a solo by Bobby Hatfield, one half of the Righteous Brothers. You are correct - he was not using his full range here although he did reach G5 on that final crescendo. His actual range was B2 to E6, well into counter tenor. His ‘brother’ Bill Medley also has a remarkable range from bass-baritone into the lower tenor range which made possible their wonderful harmonies - and Bill is still performing at the age of 81. We lost Bobby in 2003. ‘You’ve Lost that Lovin Feeling’ and ‘soul and Inspiration’ are two of their hit songs as a duo, ‘I Just Wanna make Love to You’ features Bill as does ‘Brown-Eyed Woman’. They sing Rock n Roll, Gospel, Blues, Soul …. Huge discography.
Hy Zaret wrote this song in 1955 for the movie called Unchained. This song that was sung by Bobby Hatfield was used in the movie ghost. This song was been covered by multiple singers, but Bobbie owned this song with is rendition
Nice reaction. It is a song from Heaven. He is actually singing as a man in prison, to his girlfriend. Listen to it again, with that perspective. I’ll be coming home, wait for me…Ive hungered for your touch a long lonely time….it is stunningly beautiful.
The song is famous from the movie “Ghost” however the instrumental is pretty standard 50s/60s style arpeggios, with arpeggios used in tons of music and movies.
You may have heard this song in the movie, Ghost and also by about a gazillion people who tried out on American Idol or America's Got Talent who sang this song in their audition; however, MOST of these auditions were so terrible that you might have heard it and not even recognized that this is the song. This is Bobby Hatfield at his very best and lest we forget, this was LIVE.
Alpha wolf you are right it is vibrato because Bobby is using his own natural voice and he's not faking it in to a higher range by using falsetto. It's his natural voice and he does the vibrato, like you said.
Really?! Literally 10 seconds left of the song and you stop it twice and when you finally let it complete, you cut the song off short?! I know you can do better than that. Keep an eye on the "Time Indicator" and use thast to guide yourself. With that... Keep smiling... Cheers...
Love the way you do your reactions by putting the performer upfront.
Thank you Mitzie!

Live and perfectly pitched. They were a great duo.
What a performance!

Unbelievable Bobby Hatfield. No one can touch him.
Wow...i love how you pointed out that he didnt even open his mouth that much on the last note
Thanks for watching Corrine!

The song is from a 1955 movie about a prisoner who misses his sweetheart and is deciding whether to escape
And you can tell, how pretty is to be able to reach that note. Because his mother was in the audience, and he wanted her to be proud.
From a movie brother and to hear both listen to you've lost that loving feeling

I only know three chords while Bobby used 20 notes and three octaves in this song.
U may have heard this song in the Patrick Swayze movie Ghost.

Please Review Righteous Brothers - "You've Lost that Loving Feeling" & "Soul & Inspiration" - You're loss if you don't
Bobb is the best he owns this one
It was in the movie Ghost.
You've lost that loving feel ( That's where both guys sing )
Stop interrupting. Just sit back and enjoy!
youtube copyright needs you to pause often or they block your video unfortunately
They used the song in the Movie Ghost
To stop Bobby in the middle of his glorious finale ought to be a crime!!
Watch Bobby do Summertime!!

Very annoying how you interrupted so many times and very close together to say the same thing. Showed no respect for the masterpiece performance.
Talking too much!!
It's not really a yodel it's more like falsetto.
That's probably what I was trying to describe. Thank you Kim :-)
@@AlphaWolfRadioWithEdygrimDJ he was a professionally trained tenor
