And introduce new laws that don't make the assumption that just because somebody has won an election that they are naturally of good character. The American public needs to get busy fixing the loopholes in the Constitution and other laws. (1) Consequences for breaking the law should be written out so that everyone can tell what kind of mess they're getting into if they ever decide to willingly break the law. (2) Judges need to be vetted for honesty and loyalty to the Constitution, NOT to any person or organization (ex The Heritage Foundation). (3) Consequences for justices/attorneys breaking the law should be clearly spelled out, so that everyone knows what the punishment is for being a scofflaw. (4) Disbarment should always be considered in cases where breaking the law caused severe physical/material injury to the American public, or individual Americans. (5) Justices AS WELL AS Congressmen should be held to higher standards than the average American. They're being paid to uphold the law, they have no excuse for breaking said laws. (6) Hate Crimes should have additional punishments, since they are such egregious crimes. (7) All judges/justices need a Code of Ethics, which they read and sign every year. If they can't hold to these standards, they need to resign.
Write to your senator, your Congressmen, your State representatives. Demand that these loopholes be closed.
I agree with every suggestion you make. Unfortunately, these suggestions do not remove the power of bad spirited politicians in office. Trump would not have succeeded had it not been for Mitch McConnell's help, first with the tax cut legislation, by pushing through the Senate Judges and Justices that were unqualified to hold those offices. The mechanism for impeachment is too difficult to wield in a timely manner. I would add we need to ditch the Electoral College, reverse Citizen united, and redefine what a bribe is to stop politicians from getting rich while in office. We all hear the complaints about insider trading, but why should a person holding office that is earning a salary in the upper 5% of Americans need or deserve additional income from speeches or books?
The U.S. Constitution is a very antique document. It needs to be replaced by something current that wasn't written by a bunch of slaveowners.
I feel it is so important for our country and our democracy to rid itself of the orange turd. Only then can we all start to heal. Maybe the hatred radiating across the land will stop. Its exhausting.
And if Trump wins, I gotta delete all these mean comments I've been making about him. He'll have immunity, so we're all in the crosshairs. 😳

We voters were asked to “save democracy” in 2020, so we rallied to dump trump. Now we’re being asked to save democracy again.
In the years between, our justice systems did little to _help_ us citizens save democracy.

If Trump is defeated then we really have to push for monumental changes in the US. Things that will change the playing field. Add more states like all the territories and DC and remove the cap on representatives. The democrats need to swing for the fences pursue popular things like universal healthcare but I don’t think they will do that. Old democrats like the status quo just as much as republicans
