The new 15 wards of Sylhet City have not been touched by development even in three years. 500,000 people in the area are residents of the metropolis in name only; Live in rural environment. Along with the poor condition of the roads, there is the suffering of waterlogging in the monsoons. A project worth around 1.5 thousand crores has been approved by Eknek for the development of new areas of the city. But the work did not start because the money was not released.
