Man, imagine my surprise all those years ago to hear this on that Pure Moods album. I only associated sheer dread with this theme, not peace and relaxation. Great arrangement!
Awesome!! It's indeed very tricky to find out what themes are the best as there are so many versions and Midi mockups that its hard to find out what is the work of Mike Oldfield. Except of course the 25 minute long version. Thanks for this gem from Mike Oldfield as well!!
Mike Oldfield was just 17 years old when he started composing this music. Just think about that for a minute. How many 17-year-olds have written a piece of music that's still known throughout the entire world 50 years later?
One of the amazing ostinato in modern music history its has a 15/8 Time signature which is pretty unique for pop music, a magical ostinato . Those who know the history of this song know it is about possession long before the film. Mike wrote this is as a Teenager in his room isolated and alone as his family were torn apart. His mother became possessed with guilt suffering severe mental illness after given up her handicapped son. She died a year after Tubular bells was published.
I ❤❤❤❤❤ horror movies. Especially classics like The Exorcist. I wasn t even 10 yet when I 1st saw that movie. It doesn t scare me like it scares a bunch of other people. My cousin remembers that I laughed my head off on some parts. He was in the backseat of the car scared as hell
@@jojovaldez2766kinda like the Halloween Theme, Same type of feeling, they both made Masterpiece 's luv the old movies , Time gone by feeling a little Nostalgia here
D. Wingo & A. Abbasi - The Exorcist Believer: Tubular Bells [Extended Theme Suite by Gilles Nuytens]

Perfect timing on this one Gilles, just rewatched Exorcist 3 the other day.
Yeah, it was in purpose 😎 so it comes along with my edit of "The Exorcist Believer" tomorrow.
@@GillesNuytensGREAT MOVIE! With the Genre!
You saved me an ungodly amount of restarting the song for the greatest bassline of all time. You're a gentleman and a scholar.

I mean, terror and existential panic is indeed a "pure mood"...
@@briocheswag6781excellent point
"The Exorcist Believer" is scheduled for tomorrow.
If it ain't written by William Peter Blatty, it ain't The Exorcist.

Mozart wrote twinkle twinkle little star at 5 and ironically McCartney wrote "when I 64" at age 16.
I have no idea

Tubular Bells always gives me strong November vibes of "Fall finally succumbing to Winter" for some reason...
Love the music and the light moving in the video!
Ricorda la giovinezza e il tempo passato, quell'età dell'oro che tutti abbiamo vissuto e che non tornerà mai più
