@@video2000ification What we can´t imagine will be things used in the future.
Just like people in the 80s or 90s couldn´t imagine smartphones, we can´t imagine what we will use 30-40 years from now.
People think that the new things of their own time is so modern, and think those things are here to stay.
Until the next generations of technology shows up, and the kids then will look at the things that are modern now, and ask themselves who people were able to even live with such outdated and funny looking stuff.

I'm a 90s kid through and through (born 1984) and I could complete this challenge super easily... though they had teens on staff there do it because they might not have had access to such cameras growing up... The digital age is what they're used to, so them not knowing to rewind the tape isn't too surprising.

I've been out of the loop of newer React videos, but I had to watch this one because I grew up in front of my dad's 80's camcorder. Looks like 90's camcorders were a little simpler than 80's ones. You had to use a mini-tape deck and you had to transfer the footage from it onto a VHS tape, so you needed to have VCR. Ahh, good times.

Challenge the teens to try and make a mix tape from a duel deck boom box. Then, challenge them to burn a CD ROM.

When you went to watch a video and didn't bother to rewind it last time you watched it. Sitting in front of the TV holding the button and letting go of it to see if you had finished yet😂. I was born in 2000 and still know all this stuff. Unofficial 90s kid I guess. Mum threw away all my old videos. Miss them so much. Don't even remember what they all were either😭😭😭

Yes, because seriously, 3 minutes is seriously short for finding out such things. Even when I buy a new videocamera I probably spent 1,5 minutes looking for the on-switch. The batteries are no problem on most professional equipment (which is the only stuff I own), but eventhough the on/off switch is usually on almost the same location on every professional camera, I can still be overlooking the whole machine before I find it. I really applaud these teenagers that most of them figured out putting the battery AND the tape in within 3 minutes...

Thats true, 35mm cameras from the 70's that they used to film high budget movies have such a great quality that today the original footage can be converted into real 4k resolution, that never got to the consumers back then though but film corporations still kept these tapes stored, thats why we have such crazy remasters of old movies, the godfather its a great example of that.

Don't know who Guttenberg is, but my dad recently went to an electronics-shop in Amsterdam, where I went to a number of times in the past as well. At the end of the nineties and such, dot-matrix printers were still quite common, although ever more stores were switching to the much faster (and less noisy) thermal printers. That store still used a dot-matrix printer back then, which was nice for future reference, as those receipts usually never fade.
When he came back this time and showed me the receipt, I was quite stunned to see they still use the dot-matrix printer. I could already imagine the sound ;) But darn did I feel old ;)

I like this concept. This was the technology that i did grow up with, never had a camcorder though. congrats to the teens that were able to figure it out. It is interesting that it went from the shoulder box, to the little phone that it could be watched on. More please. I was thinking maybe some top loading VCR, but that would be too obvious. The old Commador 64's or Apple IIE would be fun to see as well.
