This was a new visual for me. All my arrivals have come straight down the West coast, always staying over the sea, never making landfall till about Oistins/Miami Beach. I'm talking from 1970 till now, always out of JFK, or most recently MIA since AA has made it their Caribbean hub. Nowadays though, this route is a viable alternative to get back to Barbados out of Dubai, but man, I dislike transiting through Heathrow. I'll be there in April, so hoist a Banks and have some fishcakes till then, lol.

That is a very old flight path you described. It depends on traffic and weather, but the flight path shown here is common.

@@journeyswithj246 Flying from the UK I have only noticed arriving as described above. I saw a video where the flight crosses over land and thought that was odd. I have since seen numerous videos of both approaches.
It just reminds me of getting home, that blast of hot air when you step outside to start your holiday.
