What a GREAT video! I guess that I had been waiting for something like this for about 20-25 years.... Thank you for being a real, 'natural', teacher!
This is really helpful. I was also often confused and sometimes doubted if my us friends are really native speakers because they do make acceptable mistakes. Hoping you can make more videos about this.
That's what I love about the American English. Contractions, compactness, freedom and some kind of "laziness".
Thanks you Mr Vanessa I'm so thankful...

Many times I used to correct myself when I spoke there is instead of there are! Yes, "there's" is more natural. I felt so embarrassed! Thank you so much!
I didn't know about this mistakes in english. Thanks for the video.
Video:
1. him & his friend = he & his friend, me & my friend = I & my friend,

3. If i was a snake, i'd... = If i were a snake, i'd...
4. I'm gonna go lay down = I'm gonna go lie down
Yesterday I laid down = Yesterday I lay down
5. There's books = There're books
Below:
6. "tell her she don't even know you" = "tell her she doesn't even know you"
7. "I wish, I can" = "I wish I could"
8. "you okay?" = "Are you ok"
You are a great teacher

Thank you
Hi Vanessa!
I just found your classes some days ago and love them! :)
I always thought you can say "there's a lot of children's books" because the subject is "A lot". I mean, like when it's a collection and you have "the whole lot".
I learned a lot whit this video!!
Very good trainer
This channel really deserves more subscribers.
Thanks
Great video..thanks a lot!

This lesson improves my courage to speak
It's useful video..thanks venessa.
very helpful video thank you so much
I’ve heard a lot of Americans making mistakes with double negatives. They say “I don’t need no love” instead of saying “I need no love”, or “I don’t need any love”
I love your videos! Thanks a lot :)
Perfect
Wooow, Thanks Vanessa! I figured out every mystery that I was struggling with. Nobody taught me about it haha. Especially There's! you shared the best way not to come off as a nerd :))
hi teacher vanessa thanks for helping me out nice video im learning a lot. regards from panama city.
Thx a million 🎩❤️
Love your videos and explanation. You are quite charming.
Tnx à lot Vanessa i realy like ur video
Vanessa, I love you !
Pretty cool!
Hello Vanessa , Thank you very much for this great & useful lesson , Could you please make a video lesson about the conditions of using " S " with verbs ....( Plays , hears , drives).
Thank you again , wish to you the best.
Vanessa, I've seen in movies and TV series people say: "you okay?"
Instead of "Are you Okay?
Thanks for this useful video!
I love you teacher Vanessa.
I'd like watching a interview with someone
Very good
Thanks!!!! :)
You are amazing
i love you my teacher
Hey thank you for you videos which helps a lot! I just wanted to know if those "mistakes" work in written English?
Hey mam please make a video on this phrase " im gonna go to store". how to use go to in a sentence with gonna.
Hi from Turkey ,Vanessa. I love u so much and watch ur videos everyday. I wanna learn using of get verb. Pls can u teach to us? 😊❤️
They are new for me
such you are better teacher
Hi Vanessa, I do enjoy your channel, congrats! It's awesome! I have a doubt...How about the questions without the do/does, just with intonation, are they so often? Because in my mother tongue we just make questions by intonation, we don't have something like the "do/does" .
I avoid that second one by using "I'm doing fine".
And funny... I always thought that "if I were" was the wrong form.
Hi Vannesa !! very usefull and funny your video. In the first example.."me and my husband..." I remembered a phrase that we use to say in spanish when we hear something like this, the donkey goes ahead so he does not get scared. In spanish we say..." el burro adelante para que no se espante " ajajajaja
Also I've noticed lots of Americans make a mistake using "I wish, I can" instead of. "I wish I could "
I’ve heard a lot of Americans making mistakes with double negatives. They say “I don’t need no love” instead of saying “I need no love”, or “I don’t need any love”
I am happy to correct me if you say the mistaks.i correct theme.
very pretty!!!
Can you tell me whether the verb bark is intransitive in the sentence the dog barks at the elephant and whether the verb can have a passive voice thank ypu
Vanessa I’m so sorry but those verbs are completely diferents
Lay - means to put or place. Lay the book on the table ( past- Laid )
Lei - means recline. All he does is to lie around watching soap opera every day ( past- Lay )
The problem is that the infinitive of one verb is the past of the other.
I spent hours trying to figure it out ;-)
Hi Vanessa. I´ve seen many english speakers eliminate the clause "do" or "does" when they are in casual conversations, I mean when they ask a question I think they erase them. But a person who has struggled many years with grammar focus teaching approaches is like...."no way.....why do they do it wrong?" When I try to imitate that I feel like if I were kicking the English dictionary. I would like to know if using the complete question in a casual conversation can produce this effect that you described at the video...."this man is very concerned about grammar....I prefer to talk with somebody else...." Can that happen? native speakers can feel that?
Hi Vanessa: We like your English teaching. You have a nice, clear pronounciation and pretty face to shadowing :) Most of the native English speakers haven't got mouth so they speak as ventriloquist. Specialy here 'down under' when they asking: AurUgo my mite? Is that acceptable?
I love your English, You are so cute.
In written English is "go lie down" correct or should it be "go and/to lie down"?
"There's a lot of books" sounds grammatically correct to me, since the subject (a lot) is singular. Books is just a complement, and the verb doesn't directly relate to it. But maybe grammatical perception is a bit different in english
Teacher!! I love you 😄😍😘❤
Just Nothing 😂 guy!!! This is a real love 😘 I really love her because she helps me a lot in English language, she shares her knowledge to the people 🙏 So, I wanna say Thanks to her and just love her as my teacher ❤😘
When I used to go to shool , my teacher told us not to say "me and my friend" but "my friend and I" I didn't know we can use it en a conversational way. But it's true... school for me... it was a long time ago now !
And about lay and lie : I use the acceptable version and I'm a little bit confuse with this verb...
Yes, "lay/lie" is definitely a confusing verb. :) You're right, in conversational English "me/him/her" is fine. :)
Hi Patty Candle, there's a Chili Peppers' song where they sing "Me, me, me and my friend". Do you know it? See ya!
Anderson Silva Hi I don't remember that song but I'll see. Have a nice day !
I believe the thing with "there's a lot of..." is mainly because of "a" lot of. If you say "many" or "several" instead, I guess everybody would naturally say "there are".
These all mistakes are new for me.
nice video
The most grammar mistake i usually hear is when they are comparing things or people for example: This car is better "then" this car or you are tallest "then" my friends, but I know that the word correct is THAN :D
Oh, my God, Vanessa. My brain is boiling. I need to learn English first.
Thank you for the tips. :)
In the last mistake you commented I thought native English speakers use "there is" in the sentence "there's a lot of children's books..." because they were talking about: a lot, I meant, a group, and that's why they use is... like "there's a group of children's books... I didn't know that the correct grammar is with "there are" even though we are talking in plural... I don't know if you understand what I am saying 😛.
Anyhow, thanks for share this information to us... your fans... 👍
Vanessa, I always try to use a correct grammar when I talk my mother language, so it sounds awkward when I talk with my close friends because they use to use a lot of slangs, and if I do it with English too I would sound awkward? (I am not fluent I'm learning it)
I think they are very acceptable compared to those mistakes we make in our native language (Arabic language)
With regard to the sentence "There's a lot of books", I heard somewhere that it could be correct because after "there's" we find the article "a" which is singular. That's why people use "is". What do you think? Does it make any sense?
Anyway, thank you a lot for this lesson, Vanessa. That was very useful and you're great! :-)))
What about “he don’t”, “she don’t” and “it don’t”???
Technically, the correct forms are “he doesn’t”, “she doesn’t” and “it doesn’t”
How acceptable are the incorrect forms??
teacher you're my crush. I love you. Thanks for teaching me
My English has improved a lot by watching your videos. You're a very good teacher.
