October 11th, 2049. Log by: ---, --. “We all thought so badass the moment we became ODST’s, I still remember that exact day I graduated, me and --- just got out of basic and decided too have a couple drinks, we did that every night, thinking we were the best. Then we got deployed. I was feeling a little stressed about it, --- was too. But we both tried our best too laugh it off making jokes about the covie’s. Then we touched down, my pod blasted open, I ran, shot. Everything was a blur. Then we all got back together, luckily we suffered 0 casualties, then the mission started. There was only a couple guys that’ve done this before so most of us were a little confused on what was happening but we got the hang of it pretty fast. After a while we found what we needed and called for evac, right when the pelicans came in drop pods hit. All ultras came out and opened fire, pelicans got shot down, gunshots and explosions for 12 hours. When it all cleared there was only 4 out of the 20 ODST’s left, me, --, ---, and ---. We were only left with one choice, walk on foot, 480 miles too go. It was dark, quite, and when we got rest the sounds we all heard at night kept us up. Then we closed in at 8 miles left till we got back to base. But we decided too get some rest. We all woke up too a single brute chieftain standing, waiting for us too make a move, and --- did, he got shot with one round of a spiker too the chest, then he got his head blown up, just fucking blown up by a gravity hammer like he was nothing, luckily a hornet spotted us and killed that son of a bitch. I was in shock, nothing but blood was all over my face, my best friend’s blood and brains was all over my fucking face. We weren’t badass, we were stupid fucking kids. Now I’m waiting too drop again, this will my 12th drop since then, I’ll never forget him and all of my brothers I’ve lost, hopefully I’ll make this one out alive, and if I don’t I’ll be happy too see my guys waiting for me in Valhalla.” Log finished, date: October 11th Year: 2049
22:44 I remember playing Reach for the first time and the whole game felt like it's own universe separate from Chief, and then this played when you see Cortana in the background in The Package (which played only one other time in the series, which was the Cortana mission in Halo 3 when you save her) and I had the most amount of chills wash over me.
