I was performing in Sirsa. Got faint in green room. A gentle sikh held me in his lap and made me comfortable. After i went back behind the stage and i was literally surprised to see the crowd cheering on because that Sikh was Great Pammi Bhaai ji. Song was Ni main paani bhare liyan chi chi..I was one of the luckiest person who got the magic touch of such a great artist who is born in pious soil of Punjab. Since then I started listening to his songs. Although I take time to understand typical Punjabi language but love his lyrics. He is simply amazing.
I watched this song around in 2005 or 2006. Since then i became fan of him, not because of music only. The main reason was Pammi bai ji always think and sing songs for drivers and farmers. This is such a humble gesture of Pammi bai ji towards Truck driver brothers who go to far for days and months from their family in the hope to make their family happy. I was searching for this song, but forgot the starting lines, but remembered gaddi 90yan te jandi, nale hildi parandi, har chowk te break maran dabke. Batue ch photo soni di ji karan te vekh laan kadke. Such a great lines. Whenever i drive, i think of such songs that i am driver and seeing the photo of my wife.
