MAD TICAL Thank you! Yes, it takes a while to do videos, but I'm more active on my mailing list, where I share cool stuff a bit more frequently. Appreciate the comment!
Thanks a lot, Brigitte! You're pretty smart too for watching and getting a leg up on other presenters :). By the way, I just released a new video, which you may find of interest as well.
+Mandogy Hi Mandogy - thanks for the comment (which I'm just now seeing) - feel free to check out my 2016 demo video with a prezi-like effect with the new Morph transition - i love 2016 for this reason!
+Simple K Thanks, Simple K, glad you enjoyed! Yes, PPT is awesome and it just got even better with 2 new features - check out my new video that provides a quick demo: ua-cam.com/video/tzvo4nNGIfM/v-deo.html
Holly Robinson Awesome - glad you've already used the trick! It's a great one! And wow - that's fantastic that you were able to make it out - thanks so much, Holly - really glad you liked the talk! :)
Wow! Your videos are great but this one is out of the box. I am a student and never expected so much stuff is possible with powerpoint .I have won several competitions using your tricks and am really greatful to you.Just keep delevering such stuff. With regards Apurva Mishra
Cool effect. Now we have morph transition would it be easier to do this on two slides and let the program do all the animation work? Have the original and the final on a different slide then Morph transition..?
Oh interesting - yes it's all about preference - and once you get the effect you can definitely customize to your needs. Thanks for watching and providing the helpful comment, Hub Clips!
+Powerpoint Pro Yeah I used to think people only liked short videos so I would speed talk through - but then people have feedback that it was hard to follow so I went slower / longer.
Julia Furman Yes, this is definitely on the advanced side, but the whole point of my videos is to inspire others to play with PPT too - so glad that you see the possibilities! Thanks for the comment, Julia!
wow very good and easy i tried it and its working....thank you. Can we zoom back that image and highlight another area like at nose for after zooming out eye.
+Vivek Vasireddy Hi Vivek - glad you enjoyed (and found it easy to do, since it's a pretty advanced technique!). You can definitely reverse it and re-zoom on another part of the picture, but it will just involve a lot of careful placement of animations to reverse everything. I would suggest duplicating the slide first and removing all animations - then adding all of the reverse animations (rather than trying to do on one slide). If you're interested in doing a lot of zooming in / out, I'd suggest considering the Morph transition in PowerPOint 2016. I have a video and written tutorial about it: ua-cam.com/video/tzvo4nNGIfM/v-deo.html
Mine didn’t look nearly as smooth. I think maybe I had trouble from the aligning part, even with the align>Centre>Middle because it left it’s orig spot so I had to place it again. I’m close though. Thankyou
it doesn't change the pixel. When i do it with the letters on the picture i want to emphasize it is impossible to read. How can i fix it. (The pictures size is actually huge so ı shrank it first to fit on slide and then tried to zoom the part ı was going to talk about.)
It's hard for me to fully picture / understand what you're talking about - if you like, you can send it to me at the email in my "about" section and I can take a closer look.
+Daniel Nelson Wonderful to hear, Daniel! Definitely check out my other videos if you want more cool techniques - you'll actually learn a lot of the basics along the way as well.
+PowerPoint Spice Actually what I meant is how to zoom in at one object then zoom it out and zoom in again at another object all within the same slide ! is it the same as you explained !?
+Fawzan Duraid that's harder then - you'd have to reverse the animations - which is possible but would be a pain to do if you want to use the lines with zooming out. If you are ok with a simpler zoom out, you can just use a zoom out exit on the first zoomed object - then do the trick again to zoom in on your second object etc. An easier way is using the morph transition if you have ppt 2016 - there you can zoom in and out very easily. I have a video that illustrates that.
This is Awesome.. I'm trying to do the same, but when i try to duplicate the slides, it created next slide, instead of layering on the old slide. Do i need to set-up anything?
Do you mean duplicating the image? Can you tell me which part of the tutorial you're referring to? To duplicate an image, make sure that is selected, rather than the slide.
Samer Shennar Hi Same - thanks for watching and for the thoughtful question! In PPT 2013, you can zoom in to part of the slide during your presentation, if you're in presenter mode (using the magnifying glass icon), though I'm not a huge fan of this feature. The other way to do it is to use a combination of a motion path and the grow/shrink effect so that while the picture is growing, it goes to the center of the screen. And of course, if you want to use an effect such as the one I'm showing here, you can do that too - a simpler way is to just follow all the steps except for the zoom lines (which are cool but need patience to get the timings right). Hope that helps!
Samer Shennar - I'm not sure what you're wanting to do but I've done some Ken Burns type zooming and panning of various things in MS PhotoStory, saved them, and imported them into PPT to be used as part of a more complex animation.
With all respect... besides you're so beauty, Your ppt lesson is so great as well! Esto Es Verdaderamente Grandioso! have a goodone! -JM Guaymas & San carlos México
i am really learning a lot from your tutorials. I have a powerpoint presentation to do and in one of the slides, I have inserted a full business model canvas. due to that the writings are small on each section of the canvas. is there a way i can make a particular section zoom in whilst presenting on that then it shrinks out then the next section zooms in like that till i am done with all the sections on the Canvas.
+Emmanuel Egyam Easiest way would be to use the Morph transition if you have PowerPoint 2016... Have you seen my tutorial on that? Here is a demo video - ua-cam.com/video/tzvo4nNGIfM/v-deo.html , and there is a link to the tutorial in the description of that video. I'd suggest copying all your business model canvas materials and pasting as a picture - that way, you can paste this same picture on multiple slides but zoom in / out on various sections. Thanks for watching, Emmanuel!

Hi thanks P spice. If i wanted to highlite certain multiple words and phrases in a text image (eg page of book) in sequence. Can that be done. Or have u got a link. Ta lots.
If it’s an image of text (vs text box), you’re fairly limited in options but two ways are: 1- create rectangle outlines (with no fill) around the desired text and have these fade in. 2- create rectangles with no outline and nearly transparent yellow fill (maybe 80% transparent) on top of the text to make a highlight effect. Also add fades to the rectangles to have them come in when you want. Hope that helps!

Cool effect. Now we have morph transition would it be easier to do this on two slides and let the program do all the animation work? Have the original and the final on a different slide then Morph transition..?
Absolutely for the zoom! The only thing is you won’t be able to fully control the lines / timing with the zoom element.
Nice walk through. Thanks!
Thanks, Kcaremba! Glad you enjoyed, and appreciate the comment!
Very nice. I actually prefer leaving the lines in and NOT fading them out at the end. Just a matter of preference. Thanks for the tips.
Oh interesting - yes it's all about preference - and once you get the effect you can definitely customize to your needs. Thanks for watching and providing the helpful comment, Hub Clips!

+Daniel Nelson Wonderful to hear, Daniel! Definitely check out my other videos if you want more cool techniques - you'll actually learn a lot of the basics along the way as well.
a question please..
how to make this animation multiple times for the same slide ?
+Fawzan Duraid You mean for multiple objects? You just do the same process - you just have to sequence the animations so they flow the way you want.
+PowerPoint Spice Actually what I meant is how to zoom in at one object then zoom it out and zoom in again at another object all within the same slide ! is it the same as you explained !?

+PowerPoint Spice u r awesome ✌
where can I find the illustration video ?!
+Fawzan Duraid there should be a download link in the description - let me know if it doesn't work.
thanks bro!
No prob - thanks for watching!!
Nice! Can you tell us what version of power point you are using for this demo? thanks in advance.
+gallardo201 I think i was using 2013 for this one, but this trick should work in all versions. Thanks for the question, gallardo!

I used 2013 I think but it can be done in all versions!

Thanks a lot. Your tutorials are so useful. A question please: can PowerPoint zoom in an area of a picture?

PowerPoint Spice Unfortunately PP doesn't allow a custom selection zoom which is a real shame.
You're stuck with the zoom area that they force on you.
