Good tutorial Melody and I loved the one that came on before with the dramatic music and the add about 2 day shipping. I loved that dramatic music. Anyway I'll be watching again next time you're on. This was helpful to me as it's very confusing about what you can and can't do. thanks for the lesson. pat
Hi Melody, I ran across this tutorial and am soooooo glad I did. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into teaching new cricut users like me how to use the tools. This video in particular really helped me with making cards using slice, weld, and attach. If I could figure out how to insert a picture, I would show you what I made. Again, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I made a card similar to this with the Cricut Craftroom, but it took me forever. The Design Studio has streamlined my card making. Thanks for the tutorial!
This was great! Information-packed, & 100% useful for when this newbie wants to attempt his own design made completely from scratch! Thanks for sharing!
Love it, I just wish you showed the finished product. I'm a newbie and I think if I could see the final it would help in putting all the information together in my Newbie brain ;)
Thanks so much Melody! I'm a newbie and this was such a great way to learn new skills! I followed your video and was able to make my first card! I posted a picture in your facebook group :)
Melody Lane yes ! I had no idea how to do all that. I am slowly learning, but thanks to you and all your videos including your complete guide to DESIGN SPACE, I am getting their most out of my circut. xoxo
Hi Melody Just new to cricut and found you class love it i did all in design space it work great but when i went to cut it wrote it it cut it but it cut my card in 1/2 so when i went to pill it help
Great Video! I made a card base that's a rectangle with rounded corners. How can I round the inside corners by the score line? That way, when I fold the card, all 4 corners are rounded. Is this possible using a Cricut Explore Air 2?
Can you provide the link to this guide, please? I looked through all of your videos and I could not find it. I even 'searched' for it and for a brief moment something popped up with the title but just as quickly as it popped up, it disappeared. I agree with some of the other comments, you've got great info, but it is difficult to follow along for a newbie. I think because I'm trying to follow but am distracted by your thoughts, rearranging, working through it yourself. It would be really cool if you re-posted this video but instead of you speaking as you think and process and create, you do a voice-over. What I mean is as you watch it, you describe what you're doing in terms of the technical aspects. I.E. when you show us how to add a shape and change it, you explain just the technical aspect. In this video you are moving your mouse around quickly, slicing, duplicating, etc. many times, all the while/each move you are saying what you're doing...but if you were to do a voice over you could spend more time explaining the process once even though you're doing it several times. Am I making any sense? Sorry, I know for you experienced Cricut users this all seems elementary, but if people are going to post instructional videos than they should try and imagine the first day they tried the machine. There are lots of videos out there, and bless you all for trying to help us newbies because Cricut's own videos lack specifics, but it's the basics, the little details that newbies do not know. I'm not trying to be critical, you put on a fairly professional video, you sharing your knowledge and expertise is very much appreciated...God knows us newbies need all the help we can get. I've watched more than 50 Cricut videos and your is by far the best so far...I just wish you could take it down a notch and go basic - beginner mode. :-) Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Melody Lane...attending your live classes sounds perfect for me! What time do you air them? Also, please know, it is not my intention to be critical, as I previously stated, your videos are quite good. You do a good job including explanations and such. There are so many videos that claim to be for beginners, but they really are not. I've been looking for the steps or level of information that comes after the "out of the box" videos. So often I get lost because of terminology...contantly rewinding and/or pausing while I go look something up so that watching the current makes more sense. One of the things that keeps me confused, is the quick advancement and production of the machines. People who have known about and/or owned Cricuts for a while are aware of the changes, but to me, it's a blur. As a trainer who often covers the same info multiple times, I am fully aware how hard it is to keep the interests of people from multiple levels of knowledge...so, I am definitely not trying to critique...but I thought I'd ask for more detialed help - never know until you try, right? Anyhew, I look forward to catching some of your live classes. I've been looking for local classes, but none of the local craft stores offer anything on cutting, yet...keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again. Happy Cricuting!!!

Great video, THANKS for sharing! I'm in the middle of a project and am stuck...can you please tell me if you attached your project to a shape before sending to the machine or did you send to cut as is seen in the last clip of this video? Any further instruction would be most awesome!
@@melodylane Thank you, no worries on the time frame. I have not figured it out yet as I put it aside until I heard back. I love your videos and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge...I learn something new each time I watch.
Hi Melody, thanks a lot for your fantastic tutorials! Am a newby and happy about every help I can get. I have several questions: As things have to be cut, scored and written you'll have to change the scorepen to the writing pen. What will the machine do first, writing or scoring and how can I see this ? Will I have to load the mat twice then? Thank in advance Manu
I just got my cricut a few days ago and am overwhelmed! Thanks for this video, super helpful. I would have loved to see it all of the way through to printing... I'm guessing that if you did different colors on the card, you would need different sheets of colored paper and then would have had to glue those onto the main card, right? Appreciate this, thanks!

I have just discovered you! I love how happy and upbeat your videos are. I am considering upgrading to the Explore and you have taught me a lot on how to navigate DS. I have a question please. With CCR we can see our mats. Can you place things on a mat with DS? It seems like it uses a bunch of mats.
Ok. I am writing on the out side of the card. I, also, want to write on the inside of the card. However, I do not have the “Edit” tab like you are showing. How can I flip it with the my DS?
you can't do both, you have to add a piece to glue to either the front or inside, I suggest a rectangle 1/4" smaller than the size of the card so it has a frame around it.
I tried it and it didn’t come out to well I think I changed too much. I did stars instead of circles and it didn’t score directly in the middle so I will try again in the future but thanks so much for the tutorial !
How do I edit and mirror an image in DS with a cricut explore air 2? I am following you up until the point to flip the card to write on the inside? Please help. Thanks =)
Does this work on the mobile app? I’ve tried multiple times and it’s not working. I try to select both the square and the score line and the slice and other buttons are not clickable like you stated. That’s as far as I can get lol
Melody Lane I didn’t attach them. At first I did because of a previous video but then I restarted. I put the square the size I wanted, put the score line in and selected both and it still wouldn’t show slice or any other button.
On laptop there is a way to get the right click on the touch pad, I think double tap, not sure I use a mouse with my MacBook and iPad just use the buttons for each feature in the app. I am not sure why I said to left click in this video it’s an older video, but you can still do anything with out the mouse.

This is great news for me as I can use my own designs and send them to the machine to print.
Just one more question. What is the biggest sized "paper" it can take? can it take upto a max a4 size or a3 size?
Left mouse button? I’m new and on an iPad. How do I find “left mouse button”?
i have the explorer air 2 and i don't have "edit" how do i flip the card?
it just has cut copy and paste. there is a flip button. do i just flip horizontally?
thanks so much for a quick reply!!!

I made the card but instead of printing the words it cut them out. What did I do wrong?
