- Ink Master don’t have any choice in who will be tattooing them, but these canvases took a leap of faith and lucked out by getting artists allowed to do their specialties. From Cleen Rock One doing New School to Ryan Ashley doing Fine Line Black & Gray, these canvases walked away very, very happy.

i was looking for a comment like this! it's really nice to see especially when American TV is all about drama, and also because tattoos are permanent. she didn't want to screw the clients over, that's a true tattoo artists mindset
Watching the earlier seasons is like watching a different show almost. In the first 5 or 6 there was competition, of course, but the artists tended to act like the normal people that they were- just artists who had a chance to go on this show, maybe learn some stuff and get some recognition. In the more recent seasons it seems like a bunch of the artists are more concerned about causing drama and becoming famous for being on TV and acting like children. Completely different feel, even though the premise of the show is the same.
I think she also wanted the canvasses to get the best tattoo that they wanted
I feel like ALL of the canvases were lucky in that round 😊
Every six months or so Ink Master gets in my recommended list and I binge it for a few days, then it disappears. 6 months is up I guess - here we go again!

That stained glass tattoo by St. Marq is still one of the coolest tatoos I've ever seen
St Marq has done some awesome other stained glass tattoos. I know he likes his no outline stuff but his stained glass tattoos are beautiful

I would roll back around and pay for it in that case cause that kinda effort for free? You’d think you gotta love who you’re doing it for to do something like that but he’s just genuinely an amazing person.

They are not timed 95 percent of the time, you can google it they are hardly ever on a timer

St. Marq's stained glass tattoo may be my favorite tattoo that has come out of this show. The fact that he even had the foresight to leave tiny bits of negative space to give the outline dimension and make it look like actual soldering is absolutely incredible and beautiful.

Jesse is one of my favorites. I really love his style. He's not a one trick pony. He just has his style, they all do.
Yeah but he was one that stuck to his style the most, regardless of the assignments.They all have their styles but most adhered to the requirements of each assignment. At one point they told him flat out “no more buck teeth” and he couldn’t stop. They all have their styles but HE gets called one trick pony. It’s for a reason.

Normally “this is what I do, I’ve got this” is the kiss of death. Nice to see some that could back it up.
I can't believe they didn't add the season 7 episode where Cleen comes back, challenges them to hot rods and choppers and gets handed this guy with the most absolutely insane idea. But then it turns out he's a huge Cleen fan and just tells him to do what ever he wants which helps Cleen to win. Now that's luck!
By the way of all the returning artist that came back that season, Cleen was the only one to win his own challenge.
But he accidentally made the Puerto Rico flag instead of the American flag for the background lmao
I think Tattoo Baby just didnt like the sneaky politics. She was insanely good.
When I first saw her I instantly assumed she was going to be a bitch, but she actually seems so genuinely nice and sweet, of all of the people on this show across all seasons she’s pretty high up the list of people I’d like to hang out with.
the american traditional tattoo artist wasn’t “playing it safe,” he did exactly what the challenge and style called for. american traditional is supposed to be clean, familiar, and recognizable. nothing safe about his strategy, just logic
Cleen deserves to be ink master more than anyone on any season!

I'm too chicken to get a tat. I am amazed at how tough most canvasses are. I live in constant nerve pain so I am impressed by people who get them and the people who give them are talented. Love this show.
I deal with extreme chronic nerve pain as well. Probably different from yours, but for me, getting tattooed actually distracts me from my pain as it gives my brain one specific area to focus on instead of basically my whole body.

It's really not very painful. It isn't pleasant by any means, but it isn't that bad. If you have chronic pain, you know pain. I have severe nerve damage in my back, and tattoos are way easier to deal with.

There are plenty of tattoos that look great on this show that come back totally busted bc of the healing process, Sarah's tattoo did the opposite. It looks really great now.

I love on the second one half of them were stoked for new school and half weren't happy at all. I would be pumped (as a canvas) to have new school done! Especially if Jesse or Cleen were doing it, they're fantastic at it.
I think a true ink master is one who masters one style at the top of the game well. Being able to do all things well ..... allows for slip ups. A really great restaurant is amazing at a small menu...10 items not 60.

That winning stained glass bird was IN-CREDIBLE. I don't like many tattoos enough that I'd have them on my body but I'd be so happy to have that. Amazing, absolutely flawless.

Sauguaros actually do grow in some spots in new mexico and even a few spots in south texas but they are just iconicly known from the state park in arizona and yes they are everywhere there basically but there has been a few spots where they have been found growing in the other states

Love how Tatu baby just picked the best artist with the best canvas. This isn't about hating on other contestants or not wanting them to succeed, so you do. Its about not letting someone get a horrible tattoo they don't want. Ill never understand why the other artists will see a mistake on someone else's drawing but not say anything. That's not the heart of a good artist nonetheless a tattoo artist.
