Jose- love your videos. i am going on a 4-5 month trip. i have a pixma pro 10. i usually leave it on all the time and use Precision inks. every once in a while my power will go off. i know next week while i am still here the power company is doing a pole replacement. however there may be unplanned outages once it starts raining here or other issues while i am going. no one will have access to my printer while i am gone. what is the best way to prepare for the power to be off abruptly. the printer may be abruptly shut off and remain off all the time i am gone. thank you

Thank you so much for your work on these videos! In other videos, I believe I heard you say to start with the OEM Inks until I get the basics so I know what the best is I can get in the way of color. During the time of using OEM inks what is the method you suggest for replacing ink cartridges as they go low. Do i get another entire set of them and swap them out or how would you suggest doing this to minimize ink loss when changing cartridges.
With OEM always one at a time. If you are never going to refill then let them go empty. If you refill you need to accumulate two complete sets and then have them both filled with your ink of choice. Then is change them all at once when one is low. Never go below low to maintain the sponge saturate and not introduce air into it. Air with block the ink from absorbing into the sponge.
Hi Jose, I have a Canon Pro 10S and I would like to refill it with original inks such as pfi 301 - 303, pfi 701 etc that I can find on eBay at reasonably low prices. For example, I ask you what types of ink could cover the entire ink set of the Canon Pro 10s. Which cartridges are easier to empty between pfi 702 or pfi 302 etc, leaving out that the amount of ink varies in the two types of cartridges.
Hi Jose, many thanks for sharing your expertise! What is your recommended procedure for a transition between the OEM and non-OEM inks: refilling the carts one-by-one as soon as these become empty or refilling the whole sets of carts (like after transition)? If the whole sets of carts are refilled the OEM and non-OEM inks will be mixed within the carts, which will lengthen the transition period (and even may cause other issues if the inks are not "compatible"). During the transition period the color reproduction will likely be not quite accurate due to varying inks mixing (that makes profiling useless). However, if the carts are refilled one-by-one (to shorten the transition) the amount of waste inks will likely be higher due to more frequent refillings/cleaning cycles (can this be just ignored?). Only if the color of non-OEM inks exactly matches that of the OEM inks the mixing should not be an issue. BTW: do you think that PC inks of the 2nd generation for Pro 10 are good enough in this respect (I expect the newest signature edition should be perfect)?
If you want to have the quickest transition then you can empty and flush the PRO-10 carts with water, using an adapted that www.octoinkjet.co.uk sells then you can load those carts with a bit of PC inks, shake, suck it out with the adapter and filly fill with PC inks. One Cleaning cycle and you are good to go. The one cart at a time will take for ever to transition.
LOVE your videos! I have the 10 carts that came with my Pro-10 and I have a second set of canon cards. As per your suggestion, I will pull out all 10 carts when the first one goes empty and replace them all with the second set of canon carts that I have. If I want to transition to Precision Colors Signature Edition Inks, can I mix those with the OEM inks in the original set of carts? In other words, imagine Magenta runs out of my first set so I pull all 10 carts out and replace them with new, full cards. Can I fill the half-full cyan card with Precision Colors ink? Or do I need to let that one run out completely before filling it with Precision Colors ink? On a similar note, do I need to clean out the card before filling with Precision Colors ink? I think I'll want to transition to more affordable Precisions Color ink, but I'm just a bit confused about the process. Thanks for any information!
Yes you can. The only one will yellow which cannot be mixed with any other yellow ink. You can run tbe yellow till empty and use the replacement cart for yellow and swap that chip with the original OEM YELLOW chip.
Hi Jose. I had a question about inks.. I have been looking into the pro 10S and the pro 100. I am wanting to make my own art prints and make my own stickers / vinyls to sell. I was swaying towards the 10S because of the pigment inks, however I am really put off by the price of the inks and how quickly they seem to be used up, especially if you don't print every 60 hours. I thought this was my only option due to the pigment inks meaning sticks could be used on car bumpers etc and would not fade for a long time in the water and sun. But the 100 seems like a much cheaper options, especially with inks, and it sounds like for what I need, the print quality is just as good. The problem, as you know, is it's dye based and I know this would fade within days on my stickers. My question is, do you think using the 100 / dye based inks is still just as good if I was to spray the prints or stickers with a hard enamel fixative, or is this in no way a replacement for using pigment inks? Also are the websites that sell cheaper ink replacements generally as good for the most part or have you found there is an obvious difference in colours and quality? Thanks so much in advance, this stuff is driving me crazy.
I have zero experience with printing to vinyl with regular inks. As far as I know you will never be able to achieve that longevity that you have when using solvent-based inks that's the only proven process for outdoor use where your decals your work is going to be exposed to the elements. Of course some sort of spray may work but I cannot guarantee that
I think I've seen this video at least 10 times in the last 15 months. I finally understand everything you are saying. The last thing I didn't understand was about the waste pads. I finally feel ready to boot up the printer for the first time. I've been slowly buying my photo paper, precision color refill kit, and second set of ink carts and importing it to S. Korea. It has been a long journey. Thanks!! Can you think of any negative effects of mixing OEM inks and Precision Color Signature inks when refilling carts (for Pro 10, CLI 72)? Also, would you advise avoiding borderless printing when possible so that overspray doesn't lead to more ink going to the waste pads?
There won't be any negative reactions transitioning from OEM PGI72 o PC. Since you can let them go to empty beforenresetting and refilling there will be very reaction when filling with PC. No yellow problem either. Avoid printng borderless and realize the printer will run a cleaning cycle every 60 hours from the last cleaning. If a cleaning cycles occurs right now, you can print as much or as little for the next 60 hours without a pre print cleaning cycle so take advantage of that 60 grace period. By the way I served in S. Korea with the Army.
@@cheo1949 Thanks Jose. I really appreciate the response. And thank you for serving in South Korea. I am a Korean-American who was originally born in South Korea, but grew up in California. Now I'm back in South Korea 25 years later as a foreigner in my native country where I am raising a family. And it wouldn't be such a great place if it weren't the US army and the people who served here. As for the Pro 10, I am 100% sure if it weren't for your videos, this experience would have been a complete disaster. I thought I'd buy a nice pro-ish printer, learn about printing, print off a large print here and there, and save some money eventually after a few years. I've learned it definitely is a lot more involved than that. And in general, the self-photo-printing industry has sharply declined just in the last year in South Korea. PGI-72 OEM inks are getting difficult to get at a reasonable price without having to import from overseas. And Canon photo printer costs about 4x more here believe it or not. Luckily, I have family visiting me in South Korea and I've been having them bring over Canon photo paper, OEM inks, PC inks, etc.
Thanks so much for such a thorough explanation!!!! My question is whether you can "top off" partially empty OEM with the PC ink? This would involve mixing OEM with PC. Can you do this with good result?
When refilling, is a gram scale necessary? If I were to, using a refilling tool as you made, inject 15-17 cc of ink and then drip onto the sponge until the gravity feed slows, stopping there, would that work well? It seems like the only thing the gram scale adds is a ball park number when the bag is getting full, or am I missing something? Are extra orange caps for the cartridges available on Ebay? Did you have to buy an entire cartridge to obtain? Thanks for the fine explanations and the work on the videos. I am looking at the p600, p800, pro 1000 and the pro 10. None is perfect it seems, but the pro 10 comes close when refilling of the small cartridges is a viable option--at least to me.
You can refill the Pro 10 cartridges by eye but if the bag is contracted and only allowing you to drip a certain amount of ink it will look like it's full but it really is not and the only way to verify that your cartridge contains the correct amount is to use a gram scale. Now with the adapter that I have made you can actually not only contract the bag to prep it for refilling or directly inject like you said 15 to 16ml of ink and dribble a few drops till visually full. That should be accurate enough. Good Gram scales are only about $8 on Amazon. They do come in handy for refilling other opaque carts.
Hello, thanks for your content, i have a canon pixma pro 10s , I've been buying the recommended inks ( canon ) could you recommend any cheaper inks , they seem to run out very fast ? Or could anyone who uses it let me know what they think? I use it for selling art prints, thanks
Hello Jose. I am using original canon inks in my canon pro 10. I am now getting error B200 so I would like to try and clean the printhead. My question is, can I put the ink carts I pull out back to the carrier and still work?
B200 error has nothing whatsoever to do with a print head requiring a cleaning. It is a communication with the printer issue and not something an external cleaning can fix. You need a new printhead. Unfortunately a brand new one in box will set you back $250. Do not remotely consider a refurbished unit. You can not really refurbish thermal printheads regardless claims you may hear. Canon printheads are actually being used up as you use them. They are wearing out. In the case of B200 that is a different issue altogether.
Hi Jose, Great job with your videos. I am just considering to buy a new canon pro 10. Just a simple question for you. Do you have an idea about the average consumption in terms of ml of ink per cartridge, for each cleaning cycle? Thanks! Alberto
No one has done an actual test to see by actual wight, how much ink is used. But it is about 1-2 Total ink among all ten carts. It also depends on the length of the cleaning cycle which varies depending on how many hours passed between the previous on and the next one triggered by printing something. Printing does not stop them but say you just had a cleaning occur at 12 noon and you do not print for 60 hours and five minutes later you print something, a 60 hours cleaning cycle will be triggered. If you did not print next until 120+ hours then it will be larger and so on through 240 and 480 hours which would be the largest volume wise.
@@cheo1949 oh man. Thank you for your answer. Actually I'm going to keep trace on an excel file. But the most interesting thing is to measure the weight in g on each single cart. That's would bring to nothing, because if I remove carts, measure and re-install carts, a new cleening cycle starts again. Is it right?
Hi Jose, do those Canon 130 ml Lucia cartridges you bought on Ebay use the same ink as OEM PGI-72 cartridges? How do you harvest ink from them? I think it would be good idea to buy at least red color and use it in PGI-72 in place of PC ink. Also, when refilling do you recommend only drip method or it's OK to push ink into the cartridge using refilling clip and syringe and then finish by dripping ink to full?
These carts are for the old Canon IPF 5000 and I am not sure what colors it used. I bought all they had and I did not have red. For the pro-10 you need to get a cart from the PRO2000 or higher. That is the correct formulation. The ones I got will work on the PRO9500.
Damn. Now I wish I had bought the 10 over the 100. I do mostly B&W so the 10 would have been a better choice. Oh well, unless I get a demand on my prints I will just stick with the 100 for now.
Jose, is there anyways I can contact you directly with a question I have on canon pixma printers? I can't find any information online with what I need help with and I am sure you can help me out. Has to do with ink absorbers inside the unit ts9020.
I had a sheet of paper feed improperly because I forgot to set the guides. Got overspray as some of the image didnt make it onto the paper. Now i get ink on the backs of prints. How would you suggest cleaning up an overspray situation like this? Thanks for the helpful videos!
Physically and carefully getting in there with soft paper towels and Windex with Ammonia and clean as many surfaces as possible. You can run a Roller Cleaning function from the maintenance tab in the driver as well.
Hi Jose, great channel! I have a new PRO-10 and am trying to source some flushed genuine PGI-72 cartridges like the set you showed in this video to use in combination with a refill kit. Precision Colors doesn't have any at the moment, and I couldn't find any on eBay. What would you suggest I do?
Jose Rodriguez Thanks! I suppose I could also buy another OEM set and flush them myself when it’s time to do the 2nd changeover. How difficult is it to flush the cartridges? I’d rather not mix Precision Colors and OEM inks in the same cartridge (except for Red, which is OEM anyway).
It's not difficult to flush if you make a little adapter like I show on some of my videos on CLI-72 carts. But... why? You really do not need to flush them at all. Let them go to empty, reset and fill them, DONE!
Great. As they Become empty, you can refill each one with ink of your choice, in Europe I recommend www.octoinkjet.co.uk for all you ink and resetting supplies. Then when you accumulate two sets that now running on non OEM inks you will exchange each FULL set at once when one goes empty.
Canon Pro-10... you can pick it up at procam.com for $100 after rebates right now with a $250 rebate from canon and promo code pro10. It’s normally $700 and uses pigment inks which resist fading for much longer as opposed to $400 for the pro-100 which uses dye inks. Just received mine and can’t wait to set it up! Thank me later.. Also, thank you for helping me make my decision that much easier!
Hi there! Three questions! I‘m about to buy the Pro 10s, but I‘m going to be away from home during the week days and will only be home at weekends, so I will surpass those 60 hours every week. It will be like that for about 4 months - then I‘m back home during the whole week again. 1. Is it too bad if I print „only“ every weekend during those 4 months? 2. How exactly should I store my printer when I‘m away? Any tips for that? 3. Can I just start printing photos when I‘m back at weekends or should I do something before printing photos? I‘ll be using OEM ink, so I won‘t be refilling or so. I‘ll always be replacing the single cart(s) that goes empty.
Qimage will print a purge sheet on a schedule of your choosing. Or simply print when you are home. It will run a cleaning cycle prior to your first print job on the weekends. OR....just don't get the printer just yet and get it when you can devote more time to it on those 60 hours or less schedules.
The list is only one company deep. Precisioncolors Signature Edition Ink set. For top almost 100% OEM you will need the 9 SE colors and sub OEM red. If you can live with a tiny bit less red gamut reach then you can use the complete SE set. Watch my recent video report on the inks vs 100% OEM inks. Every single other ink set I've used for the PRO-1 and PRO-10 is sub standard!
Hello Jose. I have a brand new Pro-10 and installing the ink cartridges. So far, all is well except for the (R) tank flashing. Canada Canon support is not open until Tuesday. Would you know If there is anything I can do to make it work?
Other than making sure the chip is clean and the cart is properly installed, all you can do at this time is try to check for that and reinsert the cart. Maybe power off the printer and pull the plug for a few minutes and then re plug and power back on. If all fails and you have a local Office Supply store that may have a Printer and ink department, get a replacement Red cart. Then on Monday call CANON and tell them what you had to do and they will likely send you a new ed cart.
Hi, I'm Pierre from Peru, José Rodríguez, his videos have fed my knowledge, first of all thanks for that. One question, I hope you can help me, I'm close to buying this CANON PRO-10 printer. We have a photo studio business and we print for clients many times. In conclusion how long the ink tanks last ?, how many prints in A3 could print full color. Thanks for your time, I just joined the group = D
You really cannot answer that question because inks are used at different rates. They're not all used equally and each cartridge holds 16 milliliters of ink. Each letter size print requires about 2 ml of TOTAL ink. That figure will change depending on the type of image so again there's no way to answer that
So how long would it take to fill up at the ink pads in the Pro 10s? I take it once it is full the printer comes unusable? The Pro 1000 has a ink maintenance cart at the back.
Yes. It cost several hundreds to replace the pads and reset the counters. How long? Both my PRO100 and 10 are still running after years of use. The 100 is 6 years old now.
Jose My Pro-10 is showing just 1 cartridge being low. Does this mean that I am going to have to switch all 10 with empty cartridges off ebay and filled with precision Ink? Also can you tell me what supplier you got your extra empty cartridges from on ebay? There is so many people selling them I want to get good cartridges????
Unless you have a second set of carts at the ready you can just do one at a time. The point is to avoid the domino effect and only generate one purge cycle every month or two instead of a full purge cycle every few days which is what will happen if you simply replace one at a time. You will be constantly changing carts. Get your PGI-72 carts from anyone. There are all ok. There is not specific supplier. These are just folks who do not refill selling off their empties because they know they have some value.
Is there a way to calculate how much ink was used for a print on the pro 10? I'm selling prints of my art and wondering how to add the ink cost into the total price of the print. Love the videos!
But third party refilling so low compared to OEM that I would not be at all concerned. But you are correct about that. The pro-1 / 1000 has three channel blocks.
Hi jose, i'm interested in refilling Cannon pro 10 carts with OEM. What are the largest OEM carts i can get to do this ? I believe there is a difference between Pro 10 series inks and say Pro 1000 etc. Having had a good think i think this will be my best practice having seen this 'Best Practices' video. Thanks Jose !
The problem is that the only printer that is almost a.match to.The PRO10 is the PRO1. All.colors are a match except when it comes to the PRO-10 GRAY which is the PRO-1 Dark Gray. You could I suppose use the I is from the PRO2000 but their grays are not a match to.The PRO10 Gray either.
@@cheo1949 I recently acquired a bunch of empty Pro-1 PGI-29 carts I plan to exact ink from to refill PGI-72 carts for my Pro-10 with. Given what you have written here it seems I should refill the PGI-72 Gray cart with ink from the PGI-29 Dark Gray cart. Is that correct? Thanks!
@@cheo1949 Thanks for answering so fast and Happy New Year to you! I got 112 PGI-29s off of ebay. They arrive tomorrow. It's bit of a gamble since of course I have no way to know how much ink is left in each one but if I can get at least like 2ml from each of them it won't be too bad of a deal. I was going to try to sell them on ebay after I emptied them. But I was actually just thinking I would see if you wanted first chance at them since you've been such a big help to me and I saw you sell PGI-29s for refilling. If you want them let me know you're public facing email address and I'll send you an email so we can work it out. Thanks again!
Hi Joe, just received my Pro-10s and closely followed your videos thank you. I’m using a Mac again I took your advice and downloaded the latest version of the software and drivers, not letting the iMac download. I printed the recommended test tiff file via photoshop cc, no changes allowing the printer to manage colours. Printing on Canon Platinum the first print lacked reds. I then printed without photo shop and the print seems to have printed correctly a little dull maybe compared to the screen ( brightness is probably too high). I can’t get Photoshop to accept the plugin for Printpro, tried a number of times without success, any suggestions my friend? Many thanks Steve.
First of all you monitor is not calibrated and too bright and Leaning toward the bluish side. I-Macs are notorious for that. Plus even after calibration they can never be brought to the correct luminosity and linearity as a stand along display. Secondly, the standard image is only meant to be printed and that is it. You can not really compare it to the monitor since it will definitely not be displayed correctly anyway. The standard is considered perfect and it only used to verify your printer's ability to print it crrectly. Your printer will print it to the maximum gamut IT can produce which is always less than most images, specially the PRO Photo RGB color space ones which that image is. So the image will always out do what the printer can Produce! To install PSP manually you can try this which as showed in this video but remember I use Windows. I have no problem with true PSP pro on Windows 10. ua-cam.com/video/UuA8k5VzWcc/v-deo.html
I am confused regarding the comment about the UK and Ireland in the paragraphs below the video. Can these replacement inks and the resetter and other supplies be got in Ireland?
Too them off but not the yellow oem. You will.receive a flushed cli8 cart that you fill with Pc Yellow and them swap your own Yellow OEM chip into it. From then on, reset and refill at the first sign of the low warning and never beyond in order to maintain the proper saturation of the sponge.
Thanks, when I swap the Yellow out, what is the process for cleaning my original cart? I thought I heard in one of your videos that you use Windex, but was that for the Pro-10?
The Yellow Problem / Possibility of Gelling and the need to flush the original YELLOW cart with WINDEX with AMMONIA or totally replace the cart with one from Precisioncolors plus your CLI-42 Yellow chip ONLY applies to the PRO-100!!!!! None other!!!! So it does not apply to the PRO-10.
Jose, the printer turns off automatic, so how I am supposed to let it on so it does not perform self-cleaning before I make a small print so don't waist a lot of ink?
You set the power options to never turn off. And what ever cleanings or maintenance cycles the printer performs are hard coded into its firmware and can not be disabled or avoided. They will occur after ANY non printing period that exceeds 60-120-240- or 480 hours from ANY previous cleaning cycle the printer implemented.
Hello, I am having problems with my Pixma pro 10. It is not printing blue and its shades, the printer prints yellow or purple instead of blue. All cartridges OK, basic cleaning and maintenance performed, but the problem persists. Assistance USA and Brazil, do not return to me and here where I live there is no Canon assistance. Can you help me?
I can't wait for the signature print set for my pro 10!! However I still have a hefty supply of the PRO 10 gen 2 inks. It will probably be another year or so before I exhaust that supply. Damn it. I do however have spare carts if I want to try out the new sig inks. I'll just need to use them like premium unleaded petrol... I do love the pro 10. it is easy to refill and the learning curve is the shortest. It is however so freaking slow!!! That still not a deal breaker if you are dedicating this printer to photo printing tho.
Quality vs speed? I'll the the first choice any day. When the inks ship, everybody please wait for my OEM / PC testing to be completed and reported on video.
None of the ink sets currently available for the PRO-10 provide the gamut that OEM red and magenta can produce. This new Ink sets will come very close. Will not be a perfect 100% match as that is virtually imposible, and if you are very picky then you would need to buy OEM red, and possibly magenta. Black bronzing effect is paper specific. Most good quality third party pigment Black specially photo black tends to be overly glossy and often a bit too and have a Metallic or bronzing sheen but that will disappear after a light coat of glossy print UV spray which should be considered if you want to bring longevity to the OEM levels. Another problem with third party canon inks is that there is no Chroma Optimizer available or custom made that can come close to OEM! That is why I will not hesitate to use a light coat of spray. Any gloss differential or bronzing will virtually disappear.
PC has decided to recommend that you use OEM red to overcome the unreachable levels of the OEM red. The basic visual testing I've done with standard images and some gamut testing images do show the inability of the current available red formulations. Believe me PC is well aware of that. There is not other red ink formulation that can perform as the OEM red. Custom formulated or generic. What I will often do is sub whatever colors I am not satisfied with OEM. I only use OEM CO. When I test the pro-10 / 1 inset I will test it on my PRO-10 because I can very efficiently push out previous inks and after one cleaning I can be sure I am working with the ink being tested. Not so with the PRO-1!! I will test 100% OEM. I will test the new PC ink set and it will test the new PC ink set but include OEM red. All using OEM profiles We will see the results then! The goal is a great performing AFFORDABLE ink set that comes close to OEM and at the same time saves the user tons of money. If you need top performance I would recommend nothing but OEM inks. I see that with EVERY single ink set I've ever tested. NONE will perform at OEM levels. Hopefully this one will come close to satisfy even the pecky user. And trust me I am picky!
They have the best red they could possible use. It will be part of the ink set. Again only if you are really picky and do direct OEM vs PC will you see any differences. If you print a lot of B&W it will not matter at all. Unless your images contain ridiculous reds which would be out of gamut for most if not ALL third party systems, you will be very happy with these upcoming inks. Of course I will not know until I get my hands on a set.
Yes. If you are refering to the PRO100 you can not reuse the original yellow. So you will neednone that has been properly flushed so the sponge is white. If not the PRO100 then you can reuse the yellow original cartridge.
I have pro -10 and I see that the cartridges are half empty now. I need to make a decision if I have to buy new set of OEM cartridges or buy precision colors ink and fill up in existing cartridges. Let me know which is the way to go
i experimented different paper types on choices tab then write notes on the back of the photo “glossy, semi-glossy, matte or other” with a sharpie so i wont forget. it worked!
Hi Jose, Thank you so much for all advices you provide. I’m still struggling with the choice between Pro-10 and Pro-1. I don’t plan to print a lot or to sell my prints and at this time to use third party inks. Pro-10S is about 100 € cheaper than the Pro-1 here in France, but obviously I’m afraid of Pro-1 cartridges cost. My work is mainly black and white (street photography) and I’d like to use baryta papers to mimic the silver prints I used to make back in the old days. My question is : should I choose the Pro-1 over the Pro-10 from a quality point of view ?
If affordability is your worry then the pro-10 is your best choice. Remember photo printing is not cheap and already you are setting yourself up by worrying about Ink costs. You already know you will be going going to other inks and so you will see a quality change you may or may not be able to accept. Your only refilling choice is to reset and fill your original carts. Not compatibles!!!! Go to www.octoinkjet.co.UK for what you will need for the PRO-10
Let me rephrase Jose. I don't plan to refill my cartriges. I'm more concern about quality than costs. Did you run comparative tests on baryta paper with these two printers ?
No I did not. The difference between the two ink sets is that the PRO-1 has one extra gray, there is not that much difference. DO you need 17 x 22 or can you get buy with 13x19? Both will produce about equal results from most common baryta fine art papers. They will have to be fed through the manual feed an you will have to accept a minimum 30-35 mm leading and trailing edge border plus other settings such as possibly abrasion prevention as these papers have very very delicate surface coatings.
Firstly, thank you so much for your channel and all the information you are providing here. I just came back from holiday to find two colours on my Canon Pro 10s clogged and your kitchen roll and windex trick worked very well! Secondly, I don't suppose you have had an opportunity to test the products from OctoInk in the UK such as this (www.octoink.co.uk/products/Canon-Pro%252d10-Starter-Refill-Kit.html) or no of any retailer shipping to the UK that does sell products for the Pro 10s that you recommend? Thanks again.
Hey man. I got another one for you. So Ive been using the pro ten for about a year now,,and its been great. I get my ink from precision colors and use the colormunki to profile papers and my inks. But the last prints have been off. Its like this..... the pic is of a sky which is blue on my screen, and when I go to print, the first milimeter on the paper is blue,,,but then it changes to like a lighter shade of purple blue. Theres a clear line of transition from blue to the off color. So I tried it again, and the same thing. Its like the printer knows what to print color wise,,,but changes it as soon as it gets into it. I tried the same photo on my epson pro 4000 and its perfect. Ive NEVER had an issue with the pro 10 before.Ever heard of this happening.
Nozzle check is perfect??? I would check to make sure you do not have an ink delivery problem. Starts perfect and then it can't keep up. If you are a member of my Face Book Group, I would tell you to download my Test Image pack and then print this one "Nice hi-res printer test" and carefully check the gradients to see if they match the image. Any ink starvation will immediately become evident. If that is the cast then you need a new cart for that particular color, possibly the CYAN of PHOTO CYAN.
i tried nozzle check, head cleaning, print head alignment, letting the printer control colors,,and nothing. The one print even came out worse..like completely magenta. I requested to join your facebook page,,,but the name is under jimmy. Thanks. I will try your download once I get it
Is your nozzle check perfect??? Without a perfect nozzle check you can not do a successful head alignment. If you are available tonight at 7PM EST USA I will be doing another youtube Live Cast! We can talk then.

Hi Jose thank you for your good explanation as always. Thank you very much...
Thank you for viewing!!!
Here is a demo of how to flush PGI-9 carts which are structurally identical to PGI-72 carts for the PRO-10

Thank you very much, Jose!
Yes. Just not the yellow.
Great informative video as per normal. Thanks!
Thank you Chris!
Jose I have a Pro-10 and the print head is stuck to the right what suggestion do you have to get into the position to remove it
I learned so much-thanks!
Thank You.
I am looking for a video for disassembling Canon Pixma Pro-10. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks.
Hi Jose,
Great job with your videos.
Yes and that is why no one has ever wanted to do that and choose to rely on the less accurate ink level indicator.
Very good informations, it was exatly what i needed to go with the Pro 10. thanks very much for sharing.
No problem glad it helped out. Good luck with the PRO-10!
Hi, Jose,
When a test print or a nozzle check is performed, can 5x7 paper or 4x6 paper be used for that?
Letter size for nozzle checks and any size if you just want to print something to exercise the ptinter.
Wow. Que bueno oir un boricua .... Soy de vega baja, tengo el canon pro 100. Que crees de este printer. Saludos
Mi padre nacho en Vega Baja tanbien. Se crio en Ponce. La PRO100 ES NADA MENOS QUE FABULOSA.
So you can use the ink sets from the Canon Pro 2000 to refill the Pro 10 as a refilling option, for all colors?
Damn. Now I wish I had bought the 10 over the 100. I do mostly B&W so the 10 would have been a better choice. Oh well, unless I get a demand on my prints I will just stick with the 100 for now.
Both produce excellent monochrome.
Jose, is there anyways I can contact you directly with a question I have on canon pixma printers? I can't find any information online with what I need help with and I am sure you can help me out. Has to do with ink absorbers inside the unit ts9020.
If you mean the internal Waste ink Pads? You can not replace them yourself.
Hi Jose, What are your opinions about the PRO-10S ?
I this it is a fabulous printer. Watch My PRO-10 playlist from all the resting and related videos. Everything will also app!y to the S model
Thank you, Jose.
Thank you!
EBAY is about the only source I would suggest, Just check daily as when they become available they are snapped up almost immediately,
Jose Rodriguez Thanks!
Jose Rodriguez thanks!
Good information still using oem on my pro 10s as its cost me around £150.00 for two full set's
Sounds like you are all set.
Jose- do you have a list of acceptable third party inks for the PRO-10?
Thank you.
1 to 1.5 ml TOTAL ink per letter size print. All printers are about the same. You can also find that ink on Red River Paper web site.
Thanks!
Correct about the Gray. What will you do with the empty PGI29s?

Jose Many thanks :)
No problem!
I am confused regarding the comment about the UK and Ireland in the paragraphs below the video. Can these replacement inks and the resetter and other supplies be got in Ireland?
It means that at the time the video was published PC only shipped to the ,USA, CANADA, UK and Ireland.
That no longer applies
Jose Rodriguez Thanks very much for your reply José
Do you need to clean the Carts once the OEM ink is empty and filling the replacement ink? or just top it off?
@@cheo1949 thank you sir! cheers!!!
Jose, please explain how I set the power options to never turn off. Thanks for your wonderful videos!
Oh, I found it in the maintenance settings. Thank you once again.
to be clear, can I refill or mix original yellow cartridge for pro-10?
Yes. The problem is only with the PRO100.
lol, I think that's the set I sold on ebay! Crazy!
Hello,
I am having problems with my Pixma pro 10. It is not printing blue and its shades, the printer prints yellow or purple instead of blue. All cartridges OK, basic cleaning and maintenance performed, but the problem persists. Assistance USA and Brazil, do not return to me and here where I live there is no Canon assistance. Can you help me?
Did you run a nozzle check? Your Cyan or Photo Cyan may not be fully printing.
Jose Rodriguez obrigado pela dica. Mas como posso fazer essa verificação? Tem algum link que ensina a verificar? Obrigado
All using OEM profiles
We will see the results then!
Of course I will not know until I get my hands on a set.
please tell me why my pro 10s make stripes only when im printing glossy?
I cant get mine to print on glossy paper either.
Can I fill my cat-ridge which has a little bit of OEM ink with precision colors ink for all the low running and then load them and use them ?
Let me know which is the way to go
Since you have a PRO100 you can let them go to empty, reset and fill them. But keep in mind they will only ship to Canada and USA.
Jose Rodriguez I have pro 10 not pro 100
Sorry. I tried typing PRO10 but my phone turned it into the PRO100.
canon paper plus glossy ii shifts side to side messing up the print. what should i do?
Clean your feed rollers.
i experimented different paper types on choices tab then write notes on the back of the photo “glossy, semi-glossy, matte or other” with a sharpie so i wont forget. it worked!
Hi Jose,
Thank you so much for all advices you provide.
Hi Jose do you have any Pro 10 carts with chips for sale I'm looking for a spare set for when I need to refill
Look on EBAY that is where I found this latest set to run my testing of the new Precisioncolors Signature PRO-10 ink set.
Jose Rodriguez I only see after market ones on ebay if you do come across any can you let me know plz. I searched for pgi 72 but no used came up.
Yes they are rare for obvious reasons. I will have a look somewhere and get back to you.
Jose Rodriguez tjat would be great thank you

If you are in the USA I always mention www.precisioncolors.com
If not then I can't recommend anything else.
Can someone recommend where's the best place(online store) to buy a printhead for pro 10?
www.inkjetprinthead.com/canon_printhead_for_pixma_pro-10.htm?filter=%26fl1%3D5
But they are out of stock at the moment!
@@cheo1949 thank you!!
If you are a member of my Face Book Group, I would tell you to download my Test Image pack and then print this one
"Nice hi-res printer test" and carefully check the gradients to see if they match the image.
Thanks. I will try your download once I get it
update. After running the manual printhead alignment the red bars are severely blurred towards the end.
Is your nozzle check perfect??? Without a perfect nozzle check you can not do a successful head alignment.
If you are available tonight at 7PM EST USA I will be doing another youtube Live Cast! We can talk then.
for some reason i cant open the download. it says it has been damaged and it possibly wasnt decoded correctly.
