Kernel su is for people those who want less complexity and easily wanna root their device while magisk has been in the game for long enough and has better community support. Both have their own goodies. Personally I'd prefer kernel su. It's user base will increase in the coming yrs and will be better option for most of the people imo.

I used magisk for years now and finally decided to switch to kernel su. Both are good and should be used according to your needs. Eg- I use 3-4 modules and those modules are supported by Kernel su and i use some apps which won't work even if you do everything to hide magisk and the same apps works flawlessly in kernel su.
Basically if you're satisfied with magisk and don't have any issues then keep using it otherwise Kernel su is great.

I use only re-vanched ,swift backup ,adaway ,sdmaid SE and GMs dose ......that's why KSU is best for me❤
What does GMs dose do ?
If u're using custom rom, then magisk is currently better than kerner su. Why ?
Bcoz few games/apps can detect custom rom by reading props value.
In magisk u can bypass it by MHPC module.
MHPC+ SHAMIKO+ Hide my applist+USF modules bypass almost everything in magisk.

Magisk is more reliable (if magisk hide/ safety net work perfectly then no need of another rooting method). KSU is best for simple rooting without any modules. But KSU also support magisk modules almost.
Maine Magisk se apna phone root kiya...ha kuchh problems Hui thi banking apps PR but solution bhi Mila uske bahut se modules se support achchha hai Magisk ka ...

Even after hiding everything and installing safetynet mod, some apps like yono SBI, my jio detect root and kernel su eliminates every problem that we face in magisk wrt safetynet
