In January 2020 I went up to join a group of riders heading north in the middle of winter from Fort McMurray, Alberta to Fort Smith, North West Territories. Travelling most of the trip on Canada's winter ice road network.
Water is pumped out of nearby water sources and poured onto cut aways to make winter ice roads. Most of this region is only accessible during winter months.
Minor upgrades done to motorcycles including, studded tires, hand warmers, heated visors, and wind deflectors.
The riders are raising money for a local emergency helicopter foundation. Local Hero services sections of northern Alberta for emergency medical needs.

This is so beautiful. I love absolutely everything about this. I wish I wasn't such a baby in the cold because I love would love to do this adventure

This is incredible. Capturing something so few people know about and have the opportunity to see. Great advertising for gear too, in the desert no one will die as long as you have water, but in the north this shows what gear works and what gear is for show

I just got back into riding 4 years ago and the first 2 winters I put road studs in and went all winter. It's a blast that's for sure. I've had my eyes on something more...

@@rangeroadmoto ya. I was using grip studs road studs. Just be careful when you hit the brakes as they really hook up haha

That was a Blackmagic pocket cinema on a gimbal while kneeling in the back of a pickup truck. Not the most comfortable set up for those roads but I’m happy with how it came out
