Changmo Kim at 6:30 if white pawn takes queen, black rook takes white rook and it's chackmate. The king can't move diagonally because it's being blocked by his own pawn. It's too easy and tempting to take the queen playing at this fast pace, but white was pro enough to avoid that mistake.

Little known fact, you can castle through check, but only if you successfully spit in the other guy's mouth first during the game. Also, you can move your queen like a knight just once, if you successfully keep up a continuous fart for more than 5 seconds during the game. At least the way I play it.

Maurice and Danny together commenting blitz games was such an amazing combo. Exciting commentating style, actually following the live game, spotting tactics without deviating to talk about all possible variations. Something modern commentators should take inspiration from.
This was more than likely a rouse to get Smirin to play faster. Smirin was enticed to play quicker to put the pressure on Anand's clock. This is exactly what Anand wanted him to do. That and he probably could have beat him either way.

Dmitri Kadykov Yes. You must be a good strategist, very true indeed.
Dmitri Kadykov hes only wasting his own time not his opponents,
PyroMonster94 You probably didn't understand what i said. When only one player is lack of time and plays fast then another one often do the same. It's about psychology
Dmitri Kadykov Indeed. There is a chance that your opponent plays then too fast. But in this case it was very dangerous. Smirin had to win but under these circumstances Anand had to win. That is a great difference.
Yep. My friend told me that once - he feels that he needs to play the same speed as his opponent. It can be very effective if takin advantage of.
Nailed it anand too good . Salute ur country to provide great games to world by player like you .

Hah! you think spending 1.4 mins on a chess move is impressive? Just wait until you see how long it takes for my pencil to move during a math test!
its 1.7 minutes not 1.4 minutes. U need to get ur math right before the test
Madhu Vamsi Machavarapu his joke was about him being bad at maths so let him be because it was funny
Madhu Vamsi Machavarapu also 1.7 minutes is 1minute 42 seconds, 1 minute 40 is 1.666 recurring minutes so get it right or don’t correct someone you mug. And yeh you rounded up, but rounding causes inaccurate information and is generally frowned upon
@@zimzimal8547 you should read the title of this video. It is 1 minute and 43 seconds which is 1.7 minutes. and not 1.6 minutes. get it right man or don’t correct someone
Hell yeah
It would be funny if he simply didn't realize it was his turn... oh, it's on me? shit, sorry
hahah !! funnier than the commentary you are sir !
what do we learn from this:
If anand is taking much time before moving, then resign.
Chess commentators > sports commentators
Oleksiy Bazhenov chess is a sport
Chess is love chess is life
Pascal Brady no it’s not
just listen to f1 commentary once
Starcraft brood war commentators > chess commentators.
he was trying to decide what he wanted to get for dinner.
Finally who won the match and how . One they shake the hand no king has been checkmated
Who won ????
Tushar Gupta lol anand won. The opponent just resigned as he is down a piece
Anand: Omae wo mo shindeiru
Smirin: NANNIIIII??!!!!!!!!
What does that even mean.....I know Naani means what....

Playing chess makes you young, makes you stronger, makes you wiser.
I have never watched like "professional" chess. That was awesome.
6:25 I just now realized why he sacrificed his queen and also why the opponent didn't go for it. it would have been an awesome quick checkmate! Brilliant move!
+Henry deBeli If he took the queen with the pawn then the rook would've put him in check, but what would've been the follow up to that?? White would move his king to the diagonal space from rook and then what would've happened?
Changmo Kim at 6:30 if white pawn takes queen, black rook takes white rook and it's chackmate. The king can't move diagonally because it's being blocked by his own pawn. It's too easy and tempting to take the queen playing at this fast pace, but white was pro enough to avoid that mistake.
+Henry deBeli Oh shit I was thinking it was white's turn with the 3 diagonal pawn position at 6:32 lol thanks. These guys are absolute monsters when you analyze what they're doing and they do it under immense pressure and time geez
+Henry deBeli But the king could've moved diagonally couldn't he have? Pretty sure the pawn that was blocking it was moved a few turns before.
+patsfatcats
Nope. 6:29 shows that it would've been a checkmate
Plot twist: he planned his move in the first five seconds, then he was just thinking about what he is going to eat after.
6:28 lmao! He sounded like an owl
may be owl sounds like him.

To everyone who don't know what had happened:
His ping was high
Sahil Yadav I still didn’t get that. Please explain
@@vinayakhegde7714 It's a joke and I guess you haven't played any online game before. Ping time is the network latency between a player's client and the game server. I mean if you are on a server and suppose your ping is 'x' second/s ('x' is a number), the people who are playing with you on the same server will be able to see what you do after 'x' second/s.
And if you want to know what happened in the end then Anand's pawns were in a very good position and he could spawn queens with them without much trouble so his opponent accepted his defeat.
Remember that international chess veterans never complete a match they just do handshake when they know they are going to win or lose.
Sahil Yadav nice explanation and joke !! thank you 😊
@@vinayakhegde7714 No problem and you are welcome :)
In those 1:43 minutes, anand was calculating all the 9999 possibilities in the future.... He's Dr. Strange.. 😂😂
"Wait, is that a knight? Or it was a horse? Wait, let me solve this by myself." -Anand
Haha I'm from India and we call the pieces Camel, Horse and Elephant in our native tongues. I got quite confused upon following the commentary!
And Queen is mantri
In Armenian it is the Ship, Horse, and Elephant. Pawns are called soldiers.
It is actually called a knight in the professional circle I always tough it was the horse, I was wrong and right at the same time.
And the queen is called "wazir"
oooooooooooooww, he sacrificed his queen ...
and thats why he won like a boss
It is not a sacrifice if he take the queen it is mate in one.
@@vivek4781 That's literally a sacrifice by definition, giving material for better compensation.
@@luisvalencia9962
Many people only consider it a sacrifice if there is no immediate material gain. Since here the queen cannot be taken It's more of a trap if anything.
@@patrickarncken7416 Compensation. It doesn't matter what "many people" do sacrifices for, good players, such as Anand, sacrifice in order to get a gain, whether material, positional advantage, or tactical advantage. It is a trap, and it is a sacrifice, you cannot deny that. Definition of a sacrifice: An act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy.

Little known fact, you can castle through check, but only if you successfully spit in the other guy's mouth first during the game. Also, you can move your queen like a knight just once, if you successfully keep up a continuous fart for more than 5 seconds during the game. At least the way I play it.

+Juan Francisco Chacón Chavarría LOL. Anand did. You can tell from their posture and who shakes first. Very high players usually resign and very rarely you'll see a game played until checkmate.
+JuanFrisco The white person ... who is not Anand.. Won.. Alternatively The person who took 1.43 min on the fourth move won because of a huge piece advantage and a passed pawn .. which will queen. Or The player with Black Pieces won.
Anand finally makes the move..

The perfect example of "Call an Ambulance, but not for me"
Maurice and Danny together commenting blitz games was such an amazing combo.
The huge majority of top players from that era have either faded into obscurity or stopped playing competitive chess...but not Anand, he is still right up there in world chess..he is 50 on the 11th December 2019...what an amazing chess player he is
