- Sranded on shelf ice winter Steelhead fishing. What initially seemed like a brave attempt to find good water, ended up resulting in a very dangerous situation. Huge thanks to the local sheriff and friendly neighbors for helping us.

Bro, follow your heart. Are you gonna remember 30 or 40 years down the road from now the 4hr stream of COD that you had on a Friday in December 2022?? Answers no and a firm no at that, but you will remember a massive steelhead you caught the very next day and what you were using and where you caught it time of day visibility of the water air temperature and I could go on... get out there and make those kind of memories, the ones that you'll hold near and dear to your heart. I remember the video of you talking about how your Grandpa taught you a good amount about fishing and how grateful you were to him for that and i knew at that point even though I don't know you, I could tell by the way you were talking and the tone in your voice when talking about him that fishing is 💯 where your hearts at brother, so follow ur heart ❤️ and dont look back!!!

I was at that same point at about 28 and I needed to figure out where to go next in life. I quit my job as an Executive Chef and started a business from home doing 3d modeling, animation and sound engineering for a specific industry that I was extremely passionate about. I love what I do and there is not a day that goes by that this feel like work.
I need to find some new fishing locations around Central MI. Might have to check out you as a guide as long as you wont get me stuck on some ice. ;)

Omg that was silly dangerous. That ice could easily fold that boat like a piece of paper. Respect mother nature because to her we are insignificant. That was a bad bad situation. Glad to see all safe. Keep up the great content. The longer movies and adventures is what I as a fan enjoy. Addicted is my absolute favorite. Longer videos that are more like movies. Adventures.... traveling...... teaching..... I love they don't use river names and do alot of float trips. Here in NY videos ruin spots. It is all combat. You folks have a great fishery and many many miles of water. I love the Michigan videos. Alot of our water is all private and they actually own the stream bed (NYS). Keep building your brand and tight lines.
Oh trust me, we didn't take this lightly!! Things could have been so much worse. We were dealt a lucky hand of cards. Learned from our mistakes and moving forward that's for sure. Something I've really learned to live by is that life is all about balance, and there's such thing as too much of a good thing. That's why I decided guiding wasn't for me. I think being on the water every day sounds like a dream but for me one day on the water after 4-5 hard days of grinding to make a buck some other way makes fishing all the more satisfying, something to look forward too. That's just me, some people will say it's a lame mindset but for me thats just keeping it real. That being said, there's a select few guys out there cut out for being a full time guide and I don't see why that couldn't be you. Do what feels right and what you can, you won't regret chasing your passions when your older
Totally respectable. Feels relatable in the sense that gaming was once a break from reality before it consumed most of my time. Now playing on occasion is way more rewarding than everyday. I think that’s just life and the continuous search for fulfillment. Appreciate the genuine comment man

@@Chiefz hey man I play WAY TOO MUCH COD but I only watch your videos for fishing. Came to know you by watching “The Run” which pushed me to keep steelhead fishing! Was about to give up, so thank you because your videos taught me so much and kept me going through the times I wanted to quit. I can easily say I’d give up the video games before I’d over give up the tug of a steelie!
Also wear the same gloves… take them off with every fish I catch. Would rather have cold fingers than possible hurt a fish.

Its always an adventure/shit show when ice is involved. Its not easy to break into video game or fishing content. The genre is so saturated. But I think you can do it especially with the fishing and guiding. Keep at it!

I think if you decide to go with fishing full time, you'd have to explore a bit out of your comfort zone and target different species. Doing some summer fishing for smallies, largemouth, pike, catfish, etc. would be interesting content. I'd definitely watch. Exploring closer to home too might be a nice change of pace. I live around your area and there are some fantastic lakes and rivers around the GR watershed that can provide loads of new and exciting content. Exploring different places too is half the fun for me at least.
Regarding your livestreaming and gaming, you're probably reaching the age where you've just been doing the same shit for so long it's getting insanely old at this point. I'm just south of 30 myself and used to game hardcore until a few years ago when I started going through the same thing you're going through. It's just a part of growing up, do something for long enough and it just gets boring after a while.
That's why fishing is one of the best things you can do, it provides endless goals that in some cases truly can never be reached, if you ever find yourself dead tired after having completed a 10 hour fishing slog-fest the day before, and you wake up the next day with a want to get out there and do it again asap, I think you've found your answer as to which direction you want to go. Also you're young, now is the time to take risks assuming you can afford to.
You really hit this one on the head. First off, just wait to see what's in store for this summer!! As far as the gaming, you're not far from the truth. Just been rinsed and repeated for so long, it's losing its substance. It's the same thing every year for Call of Duty. Time to chase a higher purpose and you're completely right about the endless goals fishing provides. Damn good comment. Thanks again man.
