- A teaser for my upcoming video "Prelude to Wolf 359."
I just wanted to say thank you to all my subscribers for sticking with me and helping me reach the big 10,000 subscriber mark.
I intended for this video to be released days ago, but things have been pretty busy lately.
All right's go to CBS/VIACOM/Paramount Global
These are incredible. You perfectly captured the way the ships looked, moved, and were lit in VFX shots from the TNG era. It wouldn’t be out of place in an episode of Next Gen or Deep Space Nine. Seriously impressive work
I still remember..June 1990…”Mr. Worf…fire.” It was the longest three months ever to find out what happened next!!
Pure perfection! Everything looked so.... Authentically beautiful.... Absolutely zero imperfection...
Good Preview It's A Excellent Way To Explain What Happened To The U.S.S. Lalo Good Job As Always I Can't Wait For The Wolf 359 Full Video 👍👍👍
That is a really really really good TNG Cube. One of the best I've seen.
Straight up, this is awesome. And I'm glad that finally we get to see the USS Lalo, something other dedicated videos of "Best of Both Worlds" tend to ignore, except for Hansen's message regarding the Lalo's report and disappearance. I eagerly await for the completed project!
That cube is incredible!!!! Can’t wait to see this!
Wow, what a great attention to details:
- atmosphere bloom effect of planets
- low roughness of the borg cube material and correct colored orange/white lights inside
- high contrast between light and shadow areas
- blinking lights of the federation ship/starbase
OMGGGGGGGG!!
If you're doing what I think you're doing, this is gonna be one of the coolest Star Trek fan videos of all time!
Prime directive in all eras when encountering the Borg:
no matter what geometric shape it's fire everything you got turn and fly the other way away from it with maximum warp and call for reinforcements on all channels.
Especially if you're not a well-known Starfleet captain and you're wearing a red shirt
That Lalo model is love, looks amazing. Looking forward to this!
Love it! Great job - looking forward to the finished product.
Battle of Wolf 359 mini series showing us what happed from the perspective of members of the crew on these ships would be a great idea. Could be new recruits out or the Academy sent straight to vessels in orbit or battle veteran captains who die in this fight.
This alone was fantastic. I'm so much more excited about seeing this than any more official CBS drivel. Thank you for keeping the Trek we all remember alive.
Fun bit of trivia: The USS Lalo was also mentioned in the season one episode "We'll Always Have Paris" as a ship giving a report to the Enterprise about also experiencing the Manheim Effect.
Oh boy , realy looking forward to that , I have all the eagelmoss Models of those kitbashed ships and i cant wait to see them on screen.
To have all these to 100% authentic clips in the original blue ray release would push the immersion to a next level! Its awesome to see all these new clips with that existing, but never shown before ships in the original story context!
Paramount/CBS should hire you for a DS9 remaster!
No! No! No! No! You can't do this! Seriously, you're killing me...only 49 seconds long. We definitely need more of this!
Seriously, hope everything is well with the family and welcome back. Loving this.
Great work! I remember as a kid watching grainy QuickTime clips of the Wolf 359 battle scene from "Emissary" on the Star Trek Omnipedia because that seemed so amazing at the time, gives me flashbacks to that.
Same here, only I watched those QuickTime clips from the Star Trek: Borg cd's from way back.
I am BEYOND excited for this prelude! I know it will be amazing
Oooooh that Cube coming at us at the end!!!
I'm getting that tingling sensation!
Looks incredible. a real trek feel about it... I fear YT compression may have ate this one though as I bet it looked every better before upload.
That was my fault. I updated my video editing software recently and I didn't bother to check out the differences in the presets, apparently the one I used before I updated changed somehow and caused the drop in quality despite using the same settings. I found a new preset for UA-cam specifically which provides better quality.
As for the Prelude, I'll make doubly sure it looks good on UA-cam before final release.
You are a genius - If you aren't working for an FX House, you should be. Your Star Trek videos are easily the greatest thing on UA-cam. Keep up the great work!
Short but still very tense and incredible! You really get a sense of the fear the small Lalo must've gone through when encountering the Borg Cube. Thanks so much for making this. I look forward to seeing the upcoming video.
Oh mai gawd! I got goosebumps for my all time favourite tv shows ever!
I love seeing all these “lost era” TNG ships that only received verbal acknowledgment on the show.
That's a very nice borg cube! Scary, as it should be!
Love it! And oh my GOD the BOBW music still gives me chills like no other!
Honestly this is impressive as hell.
I turned 41 this year and grew up on TOS, STTNG and you've perfectly captured thus.
It's still amazing to me that now thanks to technological advances in computing one person on a computer can create what took teams of animators weeks to do.
Well done
I got chills. Nicely done, and this is just the teaser. 👍
Wow this is awesome
I’ve also loved the Ron Jones music from the best of both worlds, like most people that happens to be my favourite two pater of TNG.
In terms of the work, you guys are doing, thanks for sharing the passion
I got chills all over watching this.
Can’t wait! Fantastic editing and fantastic setup. Once again, well done! So hyped!
Wow - blown away by this. Top class!
I hope it's soon, but don't rush it cause ur stuff is good
This teaser looks amazing. Best of Both Worlds as an amazing two-parter (with so many repercussions down the line). One thing I was disappointed with (not that it was any fault of the production teams at the time) was the limited time spent for the Pre/During Wolf 359. First Contact made up for it by having the fleet vs cube battle, but it would be amazing to see more 'filler' leading up to and during Wolf 359.
At least Emissary showed the actual battle.
@@IridescenceStudios I totally forgot about Emissary! It was definitely good to have that POV from Sisko and the USS Saratoga.
@@eChryxius That it was. It was definitely a good way to introduce his character.
@@IridescenceStudios I remember not liking Sisko's character (having watched TNG for that long) and obviously how polarising he was with Picard initially. But after a few re-watches (and general life experience), it made more sense. Plus I did end up liking Sisko's character throughout DS9, so it is a credit to the writers (and Brooks for his portrayal) that really sold the character.
@@eChryxius It made sense to me, especially because his wife's death was very hard on him, and he blamed Picard for it, no matter how unfair that may have been.
Well Done! Not just the FX but the writing, the drama behind the construction of the trailer. Well done.
That music still gives me the same goosebumps I got when I was 9 years old.
Amazing work! Cannot wait for the full release :D
same ;D
Those backstoires are my favorites! Thank you for this amazing job!
Amazing! Hope we see it soon. Thanks
I wish your work could be picked up by paramount and put into the movies and the tv series as they would enhance them immensely.
I loved how the title turned green also the "freighter" is gorgeous.
This is awesome! Can’t wait!
I would love to see an edit of Best of both worlds part one where when the admiral is giving this briefing, we see this video.
Fantastic work. It fits seamlessly with the offscreen events we hear about during BoBW. These scenes could have easily been part of the original episode. Keep it up.
i love the intense build up to it... making it way more dangerous .. we all know the borg are dangerous but this makes them much more threatening .. voyager sadly overused them.. not complaining but yeah it was more like "oh it's just the borg again!" but here you really are scared of borg again... love it keep it up can't wait ;D
Can not believe this was nearly a year ago. Post massacre part 1 release it feels not that long. Worth the wait. Thank you.
Here's hoping that you can do this justice as they done in TNG. I have faith in you. Patiently waiting 😉
I love these kinds of videos, getting to see ships and incidents we heard about but never witnessed in canon. I recently found a short video about the SS Valiant from "Where No Man Has Gone Before", really cool stuff. Nicely done here as well, can't wait for the full video!
Chef's Kiss. I have no words...just a huge huge smile.
Wow that was awesome, thank you for not trying to "modernize" it like modern Trek does. Looked PERFECT!
Cooooool design for the Lalo. I choose to believe it's named in honour of Lalo Salamanca from Better Call Saul. When I see a new JTVFX video in my alerts, it's an easy instant-watch.
Omg!!! This will be soooo fkng awesome!!!!
Finally, after so many years real STAR TREK feeling again! Even that tiny glimpse gave me so much more than all that FAKE TREK
Fight does not go well, Enterprise! Attempting to withdraw and regroup. Rendezvous with fleet...
The Borg are now formidable and scary again
Looks fantastic! Can't wait for this.
This is perfect.
I can't wait for the full thing. 👍
"I am Locutus of Borg. Resistance is futile."
incredible work
What a tease! This is going to be amazing!
I like you used that model of the Lalo. I forget where I've seen it before (maybe the ASDB site), but I always liked the workhorse ships.
Sweet vid, man! I still had to laugh a bit when I saw the space station. Mike and Rich pointed out during their top x TNG episodes that because they used an old model, those windows on the pods of the station would be like 20 stories tall lol. Fun to think of it as canon and what the inside of those parts of the station would look like if so... the miracles of transparent aluminum!
Welcome back, my friend. I'm looking forward to your new vid.
Soo looking forward to this, your style has improved a ton in such a short time, incredible work.
I love seeing the Lalo, I've been working on some interiors for it lately. Is the exterior mesh your own?
I appreciate your comment, thank you. Yep, the Lalo mesh is my work. Building starships isn't something I'm good at especially the more organic designs like the Galaxy, I find secondary hulls a real pain to do.
As for the Lalo mesh itself, it works for the context of the video, but I wouldn't use it for anything up close as it's not high quality at all. Just enough to get the point across. ;)
Oh cool, the Mediterranean class!
This is actually impressive. The camera angles, lighting, and effects perfectly capture the look of TNG. The VO is perfectly synced with the images, and we can finally see what was before only described in the episode so long ago! Very well done!
Really looking forward to this.
PICARD: Mister Data, how long would it take to get there at warp nine?
DATA: One hour, seventeen minutes, sir.
PICARD: Make it so.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh excitement building !!! very cool !!
Niiiiiiiiiice!
These are so good and professional that you could use them in the remastered versions of TNG and they would fit right in!
Oh, this is gonna be so good!
thanks a lot, I've contracted goose bumps thanks to you
Absolutely chilling.
I’m looking forward to seeing the battle of wolf 359
Everytime a new video appears on your channel, my heart skips a beat! Always impressive and consistantly breathtaking! Thank you for the endless hours of hard work you put into your work! It's quite frankly, exceptional! 💯%👏
Excellent work, my good man.
Come on! This started out so great and now we gotta wait?! As Arnold would say “I’ll be back!” 🖖🏾
I can't wait to see it. 😍😍😍😍😍
Can't wait!!
The USS Lalo NCC -43837, science vessel of the class
Freighter, had about 158 crew, contemporary in size with the Intrepid class.
After 3 years of space mission, the USS Lalo was on a medical cargo mission, of vaccines against a viral flu that spread in the Zeta alpha II system in Valos V.
During the trajectory to the border of Wolf 359, the USS Lalo was intercepted by surprise to a Borg cube, which was immediately attacked, sending a distress signal to Starbase 157, asking for reinforcement to the Borg attack, then the communication signal of the USS Lalo disappears. Two Federation ships were on their way to help the USS Lalo, the USS Saratoga NCC 31911 and the USS Roosevelt NCC-2573, which sent the report to base 157, that the Lalo was completely destroyed and lifeless, in the few wreckage of the ship found by the USS Roosevelt, where the two ships headed towards the Battle of Wolf 359.
Captain Andrew Drake (Scientific Chief)
Commander Clark Hudson (Biologist)
Lieutenant Naomi Bassett (Chief of Security)
Doctor Omar Karin (Indian of the Land, Medical Chief)
Lieutenant Morak (Vulcan, Chief Engineer)
Ensign Lara Gomez (Piloting Operations)
Note: The USS Roosevelt was mentioned in the Star Trek Voyager episode "Unity" in season 3, where Doctor Riley Frazier was a crew member of the Roosevelt.
This is great! Paramount doesn't have the vision or intelligence to do something like this. Awaiting the next segments.
Oh no, it's the Borg!!! 🖖
Can't waaaait! Nice touch at the end
oh hell yeah, can't wait!
Looks like you took special care with the entering warp starburst to make it look just like the show.
Wow, if you're gonna show how the Borg scooped up Jouret IV, that would be a spectacle.
I kept re-watching this wondering what looked weird about the Borg cube. Then realised it was flying with the corner facing forward, something they only do in Best of Both Worlds. Other episodes of TNG or VOY when they always have a flat side facing forward at warp. Except doing that weird spin torpedo launch in Scorpion.
Doing yeoman’s work again….tremendous!!!
This is awesome!
Oh Wow!😲
Outstanding. What's the ETA on prelude and the battle itself?
Back when the Borg were still scary and actually a threat. To EVERYONE!
Voyager turned them into mass produced crunchies, no different than the zombies in Walking Dead in the later seasons, that could be killed easily by just about anyone.
Very nice
The USS Lalo was on the hunt for Werner Ziegler.
IM SO EXCITED THIS LOOKS INCREDIBLE :)
