Oleksandr Usyk v Tyson Fury Ukrainian Ready For Fight In February

Ukrainian boxing superstar Oleksandr Usyk has revealed that he hopes his undisputed heavyweight world title fight with Tyson Fury can take place in Saudi Arabia in February 2024 once the Briton has fully recovered from a bruising 10-round narrow win against Cameroonian-French boxing novice Francis Ngannou on October 28th, 2023. Fury holds the WBC heavyweight championship whilst Usyk holds the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts, and both boxers are currently unbeaten. WBC champion Fury beat Ngannou, who was making his professional boxing debut, but the Cameroonian-French fighter put him on the canvas in round three after connecting with a left hook.
The Ukrainian Usyk was set to fight Fury on December 23rd, 2023 after contracts were signed in September 2023, but promoter Frank Warren has come out to say that the bout is now "unlikely. " "Tyson can't be going into a camp after a tough fight like that. That's eight weeks away. Warren said. "He needs at least a bit of time to get himself, his body, back into shape. Let it heal. Then get into a camp. It will be on early next year," he added. And Usyk seems to agree. Speaking to media outlets from his training camp in Valencia, Spain, Usyk said the date should be decided next week. "It could be February and I would very much like it to be February," he said, through an interpreter. "I was ready to fight on the 23rd but since Fury got some injuries in the last fight, a knockdown, then probably it will be postponed to next year."
