" I stand amazed" whenever I listen to and hear of this lady, the leader of Barbados. I can still remember arriving in Barbados in the early sixties. Around that time or soon after, her grandfather became the mayor, and so far; the only mayor of Bridgetown the capital city of Barbados. I grew up under the leadership of another leader: the honorable Errol Barrow, whom she quotes in her speech, and after moving from Barbados I grew to be an old person in another country. To have the honor of seeing this young develop into a leader of international stature in a relatively short time is mind bogglingly encouraging and more than anything else makes me wish that I was a " bajan". But falling just short of that, I am happy to have at least grown up there. By the way, I recently got back from Ghana.
What a warrior woman she is! I am always so proud of her! I thank God for her and pray continually for her physical, mental and spiritual health. May she continue to carry the torch of liberation with grace, determination, righteousness and conviction .
