Ustad Homayoun Sakhi jan playing Indian old

I went to Afganistan to meet my Ustad Homayoun Sakhi for the first time in person, though I was in contact with my Ustad Jan. For me it was a dream coming true after so many years struggle & most importantly dedication towards Rubab.
I remember, when I first time picked my Rubab, I use to watch videos of Ustad Jan's on UA-cam , for me UA-cam was my only source of learning. When I arrived Afganistan, ustad welcomed me, my eyes couldn't believe that the person who I use to see thru UA-cam but now same person is right in front of me greeting me & welcoming to his home.
Ustad's hosted dinner for me & gormani ceremony was also arranged,ritual where the string tied around the pupil's wrist represents unbreakable chain connecting teacher & disciple. Afterwards, it was honour for me to listening Ustad Jan playing live alongside me, later on I played infront of my Ustad. It was truly an honour for me to playing in front of Master of Rubab. These are my those memories which I will never forget till my last breath. Memories which will always keep me motivated & dedicated towards my field.

Ustad Humayoun Sakhi is a man, a legend of many talents but his personality and generosity is they main ingredient to his legacy. I too, have been following Ustad for the past 10 years and met him in Melbourne Australia during his tour with Shafiq Mureed. His wisdom and acknowledgement powered up my motivation even more. Long live Ustad.
